Creative Friday #85 and Hello to 2 new Members

Two new members on my little blog - I can't believe it! For a long time membership was kind of flat, so this is very exciting!
Michelle is on the design team for Simon Says and loves vintage.
Mary has been in blog land since March 2012 and uses a variety of styles - even has given mixed media a try!

There are treasures to find on each blog - perhaps you want to check them out yourself!

I choose this as my welcome picture:

I usually choose some modern artist for that - this is different. It is a "collage" of used glass molds for glass blowing. I found this on a recent visit to Vermont, where I visited the Simon Pearce workshop in Quechee. So it's kind of vintage, with a modern feel to it....I hope you like it!

With a color inspiration over at Creative Friday  like this I can't resist....

Here is my card:

The background squares I cut from left over rubber snippets (when you buy sheets of stamps) and stamped them in yellows and pinks. The hippos are Rubber soul and the sentiment is Papertrey -Sketched Shapes. I used enamel accents for the eyes.

I am also linking this card up with Seize the Birthday and The Paper Players - for the Kids.

I mulled this over for a couple of days if if this could be put into the Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground, but I decided it qualifies, since I used left over rubber pieces to create my own background stamps - after all snippets are snippets, right?

Love your picture and isn't Vermont a wonderful place to visit? Such gorgeous scenery. Loved your color blocks with the little leaping critters. This looks like it should hang in a gallery up in Vermont! Clever use of the inspiration photo to make such a bright and clean look on your card. TFS & the mention on your blog. Always delighted to see new visitors pop by, and hope they will like what is posted - at least like it some of the time anyway! Hugs

Thank you so much for warm welcome! I'm thrilled to be here! And the welcome photo is amazing. So much texture! Incredible! And your hippo card is very creative. I like the colorblocking. I will have to remember that. I love that you used the leftover rubber. I did that too! :) I have a few triangles that I made that way. Fun, isn't it?

Oh, your little hippos are so cute. Color blocking is one of my favorite techniques. Haven't done that in a bit, though. Have to remedy that.
Thanks for coming by my blog. Your work is great and I checked out several of your cards. Wow!

Yup, snippets are indeed snippets. It's lovely to see folk pushing the boundaries a bit - sigh, why do I always throw away things that would come in useful :(

Love the design and colours you used!

Hugs, Di xx

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers

Combined So Suzy and The Ton Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I am sooooo excited to be part of this amazing event - a combined hop between So Suzy Stamps and The Ton! I have been eyeing The Ton stamps and dies for quite a while - they are just gorgeous! And So Suzy - well you have seen their stamps on my blog - they are simply fabulous! I also love that they are made from rubber - its different stamping with them. Its much better for generational stamping and they don't stick to your paper when you use your Misti. You may have arrived from the fabulous  Eunji - its a hard act to follow her.... I got those gorgeous  Peonies Dies  from The Ton and die cut them with water color paper. Spritzed Dylusion inks on a sheet of plastic and dipped the dies into the colors. Mounted them onto black card stock. Added the So Suzy Birthday sentiment - heat embossed in white. Lastly I added a strip of envelope liner paper at the bottom. Here are my supplies: So Suzy Birthday sentiment ,  Peo...
