Annabelle April Challenge

Just in the nick of time - sneaking into the  Annabelle  April sketch challenge, (see below) using the colors from  colour me.....   I used the Annabelle stamp set Garden Silhouettes, heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and sponged around with distress inks. I mounted the circle on foam tape on textures card stock - using the Papertrey Linen embossing plate. This gives it a nice texture. The sentiment is from the same set - it actually says GIVE thanks, but I cut off the GIVE...., since I needed a Thank you card. I added Stickles to the flowers - they sparkle really nicely! I am also adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - the theme is CAS and to CAS on Sunday - Sparkle and Shimmer Snippets Playground - use a snippet - the circle was one

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #6

The new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations is starting today!  I  know  Valentine's Day is over, but I could not resist to make another LOVE card.... I used my favorite set from the  VIGNETTE series: Retro Mod Shapes  for this card and stamped the shapes in different shades of yellow on white card stock, that I ran through my Big Shot with the Papertrey Linen embossing plate to give it some  subtle  texture. The yellow circle I embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder and the heart is a punch by Marvy. I mounted it onto red card  stock . Here is the sketch:                                            February 17 - Sketch #6 The challenge ends February 28. The  winner will be announced March 2. There is a PRIZE to win, too! The sketch challenges are sponsored by All About Scrapping ....

ric#53 Temperley London

I haven't played at the  RIC  in a while, but I was playing around with my STAMPlorations stamps and liked the color scheme of this gorgeous dress... So here is my card: I made it with the graphic pentagon set .  The pentagons if placed next to each other naturally form a circle. I added some blue - since there is a little blue in that dress and also a bit of gold, for which I used Delicata ink. The center circle is punched - it was black and white patterned paper, which I just sponged in the same ink color as I used for the pentagons I used the Papertrey Linen embossing plate to add subtle texture to the card stock. And now I have to publish this quickly - the linky list is closing in one hour.....

Stamplorations Sketch Challenge #4

Hi Everybody, today I am showing the first card I made for being officially on the Stamplorations design team!  It is a SKETCH challenge , the sketch you can see below.  I took those cute little stamps from the set  PATCHWORK FRENZY: Graphic Squares  and stamped it first in pink and then added the hearts in a deeper shade of pink. It looked kind of flimsy, so I first tried embossing it with UTE, but was not happy with the result. Then I thought about using those clear sticker candies I have gotten a few years back basically for free, but never used them... I had some that were too large, but they can be cut easily with scissors. I used my corner chomper to round the corners. It really looks like candy....The card base I embossed using my favorite Papertrey Linen embossing plate. I love the sublte texture it achieves.  The sentiment is Stamplorations    VIGNETTE: Trendy Feathers .   I wrapped red metallic thread aroun...

A card for several challenges and welcome to a new Member!

I can't believe I did not get to my blog in 5 days.....But good news - I have a new blog follower to welcome! Sathya    her blog is called Expressive Creations  and she employs a broad spectrum of styles and techniques - beautiful work to find there. I am glad you found my blog. Here is your welcome picture: This is a quilt by Ellen Anne Eddy and called Skinny dipping. I discovered it on a recent visit at the Morris Museum in Morristown. I hope you like it! And now finally -  a card! I used the Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums. I colored the moose with Copics and fuzzy cut it. The cardbase I ran through y Big Shot, using the Papertrey Linen embossing plate. It give it a subtle texture, which does not show well in the picture, but makes it look really pretty.  The moose is elevated with dimensional tape, some Bakers twine to gibe it some sparkle! I am linking this card up with Paper Smooches anything goes challe...

KissMoose meets Deconstructed Sketch #127

Hi, I had fun using this great sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch  and my brand new Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums. That reindeer just cracks me up and the sentiment - just fabulous! I colored the reindeer with Copics and mounted it onto Kraft. Some twine and the background paper I embossed with the subtle PTI canvas impression plate (the other side of the linen plate..) It does not really show in the picture, but it looks really good in real life. Much better than smooth card stock... I added that little red kiss... I will also put this card into the   Rudolph Day  challenge for November and my all time favorite place -  the  Snippets Playground - basically everything except the white background were snippets and  Catered Crops  - Animal House recipe swap Ribbon Carousel  - Holiday and Celebration Have a great evening and thanks for coming by!

ric#37 - Fashion East

I have not played with the RIC in a while - well, that has changed now. I liked the inspiration picture: And here is my interpretation of it: I used the Hero Arts set "You  & me". I added some enamel dots to add some red accents, just like in the inspiration photo. The grey background card I embossed with the linen embossing plate from Papertrey to give it some texture and to incorporate the background wall from the inspiration photo. Here is a close-up photo: Uh - its late again.....off to bed............

The Paper Players - #140

Recycling is the theme with the Paper Players  this week. That is just up my alley! I am an avid recycler - I recycle everything possible and make sure the rest of my household complies..... I love those little Reeses peanut butter cups -    oh, they are sooooo yummmy! I "sacrificed" myself  to get those wrappers...... to make this card: The idea with the vase I got from Kelly at Notable Nest  - she made several brilliant cards with that - worthwhile to see. So I made a flower and two buds out of the wrappers, using thin wire and gluing a ready made flower into the center. The white background paper I ran through my Big Shot with the Papertrey Linen embossing plate - it needed some texture. The sentiment is Hero Arts Heart Felt Messages (Cl150).
