3 cards for Lavinia combined with CASology and Welcome to 7 New Members

I have gotten so many new members all of a sudden! The time is overdue for a welcome picture......So sorry for the delay. Let me greet you officially Ladies and welcome you to my blog. I am happy you joined in here and hopefully you'll stay :) Melissa Kylie Cynthia Deepti Angie A Barbara Michele - sorry could not find a link, but will happily add it if possible I hope you all like your welcome picture - the lotus flowers/leaves are hand knitted by  Ruth Marshall  and were recently displayed in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This was one of my favorite pieces there. It was an amazing little exhibit.  --X-- I played around with that fabulous Poppy stamp from Lavinia today using purple - the CASology challenge color for this week. Lavinia's challenge also requires glitter on the card. I did not place a sentiment on the card - partially because Lavinia does not tolerate other stamps when you enter their challenge (and I don't have ...

Lavinia and Stamplorations again!

Good morning my friends, I could not resist - having a quiet morning to sneak up into my card room and make another card for  Stamplorations .....I liked yesterdays card, but it really is not my style. So here is card #2: I used this gorgeous dandelion stamp set from Lavinina - had it for a while now, but never used it, stamping them with Versamark and sponging around them with aqua and light blue ink. I then cut the squares. I used the same stamps again stamping directly onto the card base and mounted the squares on foam dots to elevate them. I put some Stickles on the dandelions - I think it shows best in the magnified view. I was inspired by   Heather Telford , one of my heros, who once made a card with dandelions in a similar way. I will also link this card with Lavinia  - anything goes Keep it Simple  - anything goes Inkspirational  - anything goes   Creative Friday  - no Christmas card Crafts4eternity ...

Lavinia #9 - Bright and Hot colors

I made this card for the Lavinia challenge - its bright and hot colors this month. I used watercolor paper and distress inks, which I stamped onto an acrylic block, misted it with water and stamped it onto the watercolor paper.  I doodled around it and used this pretty poppy silhouette stamp from Lavinia stamps, which I stamped twice, since its kind of small. Added some white dots as accents. I kind of like it - nice to make something different from my Christmas card frenzy... --X-- I did add a sentiment later, however the challenge rules are to use ONLY Lavinia stamps - uh oh - I wonder if they kick me out now.... Well I am taking the risk - it needed a sentiment (Mama Elephant) Have a great day! I'll be in Chicago next week, so don't expect too much from me over the next couple of days.....

Chinese Lanterns

Autumn colors is the challenge this month at  Lavinia  stamps. I choose yellow, orange and green. I stamped the Chinese Lanterns in black and colored them with Copics. I put glossy accetns on the lanterns and let it dry. Then   I sponged around the lanterns after masking  off a square. All it need now is a sentiment, which it will get depending on the occasion I'll use it for... I hope you like it. Its pretty late now - I wish you all a good night!

Welcome to 3 New Members and a Card

I just can't believe it - 3 more members - who knows - perhaps I make it to 100 by my 1 year blog anniversary, which is coming up at the end of next month! I am planning a little celebration, but for now I am going to celebrate 3 NEW MEMBERS!!! Charmaine Flo Benzi I welcome all of you to my little blog and hope you will continue to like what I make. Here is your welcome picture: It it by Fritz Koenig - the artist who created the Sphere at the World Trade Center, which got so badly damaged on 9/11. He is German and actually lives near my hometown. This is one of his sculptures in front of his Sculpture Museum in Landshut (my home town), which is housed in the restored old City Wall. --X-- Back to card making.....A while back I discovered Lavinia stamps - they are from the UK and you can't buy them here. The currency exchange for the British pound is not exactly favorable, but eventually I could not resist and ordered a whole bunch of their stam...
