Dream Valley Challenge #79 - Easter Day

Hi Everybody,  its another challenge at Dream Valley and quite appropriately its Easter Day! Don't we all need to make some more Easter cards? Here is you chance to link them up! I used the Papertrey Take Tree die for this card. The bunnies are from Stamping Up- Ears to You and teh sentiments are Craft smart stamps from Michaels. I made the bunny eyes with liquid enamel and colored the ears a bit with Copics, to give those bunnies more dimension. Added an enamel dot and a Paper Candy.  Now head over to the blog and see how the DT can inspire you!

Festive Friday#17

So cute, this felt acorn from Festive Friday - it immediately appealed to me and I wanted to play.... But it wasn't as easy as I thought. I wanted to use felt, to get that cozy warm feeling from the inspiration picture, but I did not like any one of my two felt cards I made. So I went with what comes easier to me - stamping.....I like this card.  The windows are cut with the Papertrey Take Tree die, the stamps are Hero Arts Four Framed Snowflakes, the sentiment is by Magenta. I also cut a thin strip of metal foil and added some Stickles. --X-- I will show you my other attempts....maybe I shouldn't..... The stamps and die cuts are Prickley Pear, the sentiment is Hero Arts - Decorate your Holidays. Somehow there is something missing on this card - any suggestions? The second card looks better here than in real life. The stamps and die cut are from the Hero Arts/Sizzix Merry Christmas Tree set. For both cards I used the Papertrey ...

Merry Monday #69 and Moxie Fab

Hello Everybody, I have another Christmas card I made for the Merry Monday challenge #69 - the sketch is below. This card would have been a lot easier, if I would have done it in the right order... I started out with the green paper, die cutting the openings with the Papertrey Take Tree die. Then I realized that I needed the red strips on the side and I wanted the paper doubled up, to give it more substance, so I fiddled around with the red paper, trying to die cut at the same level as the green paper, which I kind of managed to do.... the sentiment is from Hero Arts Happiest Holidays. And the felt ornaments I had in my stash - bought years ago in Germany... I am also linking this up with the Moxie Fab Holiday challenge . --X--  And now some Calgary pictures - some contrast to Christmas - street art: Cool, hu - I love it! I have more to share about Calgary in my next post!

Birthday card and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

One of my former German Au Pairs' son is celebrating his fourth birthday! She took care of my daughter when she was four and now she has 3 children of her own - the last two are twins. We have been staying in contact ever since she was with us, so naturally her son is getting a card! Except for the sentiment, which is from Papertrey I used all German stamps. The mouse and the elephant are from a famous TV show and the middle one is from probably the most well known German children's book author named Janosch. His books have been translated into English and some are available in the US. I always was and still am a big fan of his drawings.  For the windows I used the Papertrey Take Tree die, the balloon is a Marvy punch. I colored the stamps after I fuzzy cut them with pencils, the eyes are done with white enamel. And if you want to know more about THE MOUSE you can watch this short video clip: Have FUN! ...

Tuesday Trigger

Isn't that delicious? This is the Tuesday Trigger inspiration from Moxie Fab. I kept my card close to the inspiration photo.  The background is made with the Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. For the squares I used the Papertrey Take Tree die and the flowers are made with Martha Stewart punches. The sentiment is Papertrey Happy Trails. I used a smidgen of chalk to give the flowers some depth.
