Moody Blues

I discovered this crafts 4 eternity challenge recently and really liked their inspiration picture. I thought I will use those colors in an idea I recently had. I got those letter stencils at Michaels and wanted to make word cards with them in different colors just with sponging. That can be used for any season or just as a background - all those possibilities swirling around in my head.....  I am not totally happy with the fonts that were available, but they were cheap enough that nothing much is lost..... At CASology  this week's theme is WINTER, so I am also submitting this card to this challenge. Here is the card I made. The colors are the closest I could find in my stash for the color challenge: The snowflakes are from Inkadinkadoo and I put Stickles on the small ones to add some sparkle. AHH and since its winter I thought I show you some pictures from my Christmas vacation in Ithaca. It was sooo pretty there. I wish we had some snow...

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #10

Finally a little time again to make more cards. The last two days have been really hectic. I ordered a lot of stamps from Ellen Hudson a view days ago and today my big package arrived - hurrah!! But I am never one  that immediately jumps to new stamps right away. I usually let them "ripen" in my storage bins - they get better with age - ha, ha!!!  So I saw this beautiful sketch from CAS(E) this sketch  and had to play (with one of my old stamps, of course...) The stamp is from the Inkadinkadoo set "Snowflakes" - inked up with a Kaleidocolor inkpad. the sentiment is Papertrey "Happy Trails". I punched out a tiny little star with one of those $1 Michaels punches and applied some Stickles in different colors. This was a very quick card, took perhaps 5 minutes to make.

January Birthday

This card I made for the birthday of a friend. I first stamped the snowflakes (Inkadinkadoo, Penny Black) on the paper with a multicolored ink pad and then ran it through my Big Shot with the Fiskars snowflakes texture plate  This is a new technique for me, therefore into the Simon Says challenge  "Something New" it goes.  The sentiment is Hero Arts - Big Candles. I sponged a little on the sentiment and the borders of the card. The brads I colored with alcohol inks.

More Cookies and a Card

Toady was my son's son's last piano lesson before the New Year, so I needed a card for his teacher. Its just a variation on the  card I made 3 days ago , so it was quick to make. He also got a bag of cookies, which he liked very much.  I linked this up with the Simon Says challenge - Anything Christmassy! And here is an update on the bread - shortly before I put it in the oven and after it came out. The cookies on the left are the Pfeffernuesse from yesterday;'s dough, the cookies on the right are chocolate cookies sprinkled with crushed candy canes.

OLW snowflakes

Since I still need more Holiday cards, I decided to make one for the One Layer Wednesday challenge "Snowflakes. The big snowflake and the sentiment are Inkadinkadoo, the little snowflakes are from Rubber Soul. I masked the center strip and sponged around it. And, as so often a little Stickles for sparkle. Just found this challenge at the Paper Players , for which this card fits as well.
