Make It Monday #16 - Chalk and Stamps with Impression Plates

I made this card fo rthe  Make It Monday #16   from Papertrey. The theme issCombining Chalk and Stamps with Impression Plates.  Melissa  explaines in a fabulous video how to do that. I causes this great effect and I love how this card turned out. Papertrey   I took that polka dot embossing plate by Papertrey and added chalk in various shades of pink and purple. I then stamped on it with the Dot Spot set. The sentiment is from the Papertrey set Cutting Garden. The die cuts I used fro the sentiment are also by PTI. I added some Stickles. Not sure why, since the card looked pretty good without it. Here are some more shots to show you the texture of this card better: I am also submitting this card to the AAA challeng e . Of course I had the colors in mind when I chose them for this card.      And lastly this card will join the Snippets Playground - sentiment papers taken from my ever growing snippets pile... ...

Make it Monday #139 and Dynamic Duos #77

Stamped Square Frames - that is the theme at this week's  Make it Monday . The talented Dawn  shows in a video how to do that. Its easy and quick and the result is  fabulous  - I think!  I don't really have a border stamp from PTI, so I improvised - part of the fun! I took the sentiment from the Papertrey set Cutting Garden and used it as a frame. The dies are also Papertrey  - Beautiful Blooms. The one with the ink on it was a leftover from some project I can't even remember. (You know what that means.......) - it goes into the Snippets Playground ! I added a silver paper candy in the center, which I colored with Copic. That works just fine and you don't need to buy them in all different colors. I mounted the white cardstock on a red card.  I chose the colors to fit this weeks  Dynamic Duos Challenge and I am also linking this up with Seize the Birthday  - anything goes Thank you for visiting my...

Make It Monday #131: Striped Embossing

Last weeks Make it Monday was not for me, but this one is! Its called "striped embossing"   and its a brain child of the brilliant   Betsy Veldman . Check it out - its really cool! You mask off part of the sentiment - or where ever you want your embossed stripes with post it notes, then sprinkle it with embossing powder, move the post it notes, repeat, until you have covered everything with embossing powder - heat it up and that is it. The only problem is that some of the embossing powder gets stuck where the sticky part of the post it note was....You kind of can see that. I did not like that part - I like my cards to be meticulous..... I am also linking this card up with Dynamic Duos  and Simons Says - Emboss it Materials: Papertrey Cutting Garden, Papertrey Think Big Favorites

The Playdate Cafe #186 and Make It Monday #121

Uh, oh - I just checked The Play Date Cafe when Linky expires - and that was in 3 hors and 39 minutes!!!! Well if you think about it  that is plenty of time, given that at the Hero Arts flickr group scramble the time limit is 90 minutes and that includes uploading your pics.... I already thought about the vellum flower thing that Betsy Veldman so expertly demonstrated on the weekly Make it Monday post from Papertrey. Originally I had something different in mind and I already had started it, but id did not work with those colors....And I don't really have a good Papertrey flower, that would work for this technique....So I pulled out one of my favorite flowers from Hero Arts, colored the vellum after heat embossing it and cut it out. I used the Papertrey Harlequin embossing folder to make the background. I first cut it, but I did not like how it shined/shone? through the vellum. So I just embossed the paper with the Harlequin embossing folder. I glittered ...

Silver birthday card

No sure, what's wrong with me lately..... thought I'll combine the Make it Monday Marvelous Monogram challenge from Papertrey with the   Challenge, but no, it was not the regular Make it Monday, it was a blog hop ending yesterday. Alt least I did not screw up with the silver challenge . It took me a while to come up with something - actually Papertrey spurned my imagination  - as you can see. I made this card for my nieces birthday - those are her initials. I just hope she has more important things to do than checking my blog, I would like this to be a surprise..... It was kind of tricky gluing on the letters After some trial and error I managed to adhere them with glossy accents. The bigger silver circle is glued to chipboard, to give the card some dimension. And here is another challenge this card will be part of :   CASology CIRCLE   - as my new member Kimberly just told me - I wanted to make something else for this one,...

OLW# 128 - Feminine Birthday Card

I just got my latest order of Papertrey stamps and dies. This set is from their new release and I had to have it. Dawn McVey made this beautiful card with that set - she was the main reason I bought it. I tried her technique (CASEd it....) and I actually like the result of it. My card is kind of similar to hers.....Originally I wanted to make the blossoms blue, but since the challenge is about feminine cards I opted for red. Not sure why - Heather Telford made a blue card....Perhaps later I ll make a blue version. I am submitting this to the OLW challenge . Materials: Papertrey - Cutting Garden,  Hero Arts Heart Felt Messages (Cl150), Hero Arts April (Cl051), Distress Inks
