Tuesday Trigger combined with CAS(E) this Sketch #33

This is my second post today..... I'll soon be going on vacation for 2 weeks and I have to get my card obsession satisfied, before I go...... The Trigger is expiring in a few hours.... I have been thinking about it now for quite a while, since I wanted to use my new Papertrey Square Prints set.....                                                  The inspiration finally hit me, when I came up with the idea to combine it with Case this Sketch layout. The sentiment is Papertrey Modern Basics and I added three brads. I off-set the sentiment to balance out the card. I really like it! And the best is - its a masculine card - something I normally suck at, badly.....

Make it Monday combined with Pinspired #9

I spent the weekend in Vermont - so no card making possible and then I forgot my camera in my friend's car on the way back home - how awful! So I made this card for the Make it Monday , but could not photograph it until today when I went there to pick it up. The challenge was to add texture to stamps. Betsy Veldman had used a comb to achieve a cool effect on her stamps. I though about several things - mainly items from my kitchen, such as a fork - too similar to a comb, a sieve - too cumbersome to clean up and the curved surface probably not great and so n and so forth. Finally I cam up with using rubber band on one of my son's old building blocks: I used the Papertrey Modern Basics set - kissed the stamp with the rubber band block, added the sentiment, a little gem in the center and voila' - its done! I like the effect - I think this rubber band block will stay permanently in my card room! In addition I will add this card to the Pinspired...

Two New Members and Two Cards

Hallo Everybody, today I want to welcome 2 new readers to my blog: Dewi  from Indonesia and Nicole -  BaNiKa  from Germany I am so happy you found me and hopefully you will enjoy your future visits here as well. I found a welcome picture for you in my "stash" - perfect for this time of the year: Its a Dogwwood - they are flowering right now, but I took this picture 2 years ago when I visited the Walter Reeds Arboretum near my home in New Jersey. --X-- But now back to cards....... I made this card for two challenges. One is Less is Moore , which is a sketch challenge this week and the second challenge is Simply Create Too , where the theme is "All about Babies". I have copied the sketch below. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft. And since its "Anything goes" at Simon Says" I am linking this card with them as well. The second card is done with the ink blowing technique that I tried yesterday  (see det...

Gradient Stamping

I kind of skipped over day 2 of the Clean and Simple card making class and tried out Jennifer McGuire's gradient technique - it is quite cool. My first try came out great - this is from my second try, which I was only  partially happy with. So I cut off the part I did not like and made it into a card that fits the paper players sketch challenge .  I used the Papertrey set Modern Basics for the gradient stamping. The sentiment is Hero Arts Leaf Prints (Cl 395). I will have to practice more to really get the gradient stamping right, but it is a fabulous technique, undoubtedly worthwhile to work on it. Perhaps tomorrow I'll make something with my first attempt, not enough time tonight.

Make It Monday #99: Repeats & Rainbows

I absolutely LOVE Papertrey and for some reason, I never managed to take part in their Make it Monday project. Well, I vow to change that. Nicole Heady selected such beautiful color palettes for this week that I finally overcame my block and made a card for it. I used whatever ink colors I had - a mixture of chalk, distress and dye inks. The stamp is from the Modern Basics set and the sentiment is Cloud 9 design (Simple Thoughts - Happy birthday)

kis! # 1: Türkis und Gelb - A Passion for Papertrey (2)

How fun! Found the first German CAS challenge   KEEP IT SIMPLE  and   A Passion for Papertrey   and could not resist to make a card for both of them! After all CAS is my favorite style, although I still struggle at times with it. And Papertrey is one of my favorite stamping companies! Here is my second card: Sorry for the two blog posts, but that is the only way I can upload both cards into the challenge as far as I know. Still so much to learn in blogland.... The numbers and sentiment are from Papertrey By the Numbers Die Collection Modern Basics Stamp Set the stamp is Papersource embellished with Stickles and perfect pearls butterfly punch : Martha Stewart
