Holiday Greenery for Twofer

Hi Everybody, I have not played in the Twofer challenge in a while, due to time constraints. But I made sure I am not missing it this time.  I wanted to use this wonderful die I recently won in an Instagram give-away by Poppy Stamps. Thank you so much Poppy Stamps - I love this little beauty! Here are closer views of my cards: This actually was the second card as I was not willing to throw out the negative die cut I got from cutting the white sprig for my first card. Thought it might look nice adding some vellum sprigs. It think it does. Added a gold thread and selective gold foiling. Also gold foiled the sentiment (Hero Arts). I just die cut the mistletoe in 3 different colors and tied them together with a red string. Added the sentiment and stars (Mama Elephant), as well as Washi tape. Added a bit of Stickles. Happy Twofing! Also linking up with: Challenge up your Life - black and white and one color (gold, first card)

Twofer #19 - Nautical

Hi Everyone, the new Twofer challenge is out and instead of procrastinating I just went up to my  craft room and made two cards! The theme is Nautical! How cool! The only problem was, that I have way too many supplies I could possibly use. I settled on the big crab that I imported a while ago from Germany from the online shop Steckenpferdchen. They have some cool stuff in that store and clearly, I couldn't leave the crab there.... For this card I stamped the crab onto photo paper and added some splatters and smooshed a bit. Added the fish die cuts. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I couldn't resist adding some googly eyes.... For my second card I stamped the crab in red tones, using and ombre ink pad from Michaels. The thin frames are also from Steckenpferdchen . Tied a die cut fish to it and stamped the sentiment (Katzelkraft). Small googly eyes for this one. Loving my Twofer cards! Also linking up with: Wa...

Twofer Challenge #17

Hi Everyone,  have you been waiting for my  Twofer  entry?  Well, here it is: I have this ancient set by The Alley Way stamps - -a company that sadly does not longer exist. But I still have plenty of their stamps, which in this case came in handy! For this card I dressed up the bee as vampire - she is riding a broom (Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps) and the sentiment is in part TAWS and Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps.,  For this card I used a honeycomb stamp and the flightpath from a Joy Clair set for the background. Added Stickles to the wings. Die cut the card base with a die by Simon Says and mo9unted it on to dark brown card stock. I am linking up with: Twofer challenge  - bees Watercooler Wednesday challenge  - anything masculine (first card) Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - travel (first card) - that bee is travelling somewhere Shopping our Stash  - you are so punny ...

Guest Designing for the Twofer Challenge

Hi Everyone,  I have the great honor to guest design for my all time favorite challenge - the Twofer challenge from my blogging friend Darnell from djcardkreations. The theme is wheels.  Hmmmm, I thought, what to do with that???? Not exactly an easy theme.  I dug around in my craft supplies and found this bicycle die cut - no idea what company makes it. It had to do. I first made the card with the Cats on Appletrees animal stamps. I dotted the frame and added two heart shaped enamel dots, as it clearly needed more color. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches. For my second card, I die cut the bike wheel with fun foam and used it as a stamp. Stamped it with Versamark onto water color paper and heat embossed it. Then I sprinkled Brushos and spritzed with water. The sentiment is by Honey Bee Stamps, including the die cut. So, two different occasions. One card and encouragement card and the other is what I like to call an "any occasion ...

Twofer Challenge #14

Hi Everyone,  have you been waiting for my Twofer entry? I hope so ;) Well, here it is: I figured, since I had time constraints to utilize past labor for this. A while back I had made that happy birthday card - actually I made two of them for the twins of a friend of mine and I had waited for an opportunity to show them. Thanks to Twofer that moment is here! But I still needed a second card - and you saw that yesterday - I hope the Twofer people don't mind.... Anyhow, if they do, they can discard my entry.... So I re-purposed the balloon and turned it into boulders. Added different animals. And here you can see all cards separately. Debby Hughes inspired my with her coloring, although she does a much better job than I do.... The cute monster is from the set Monster Hugs from Simon Says Stamps (a Concord and 9th exclusive). It's really a Threefer..... If you want to know the details about this card you can read all on it HERE And...

Twofer Challenge #13

Hi Everyone, I am playing again in the  Twofer challenge   - the current theme is STARS. No problem, I have lots of those. Since now stencils are on the allowed list I decided to go with this beautiful Memory Box stencil - if I remember correctly it has never seen the light of day... For my first card I sprinkled black Brusho pigments onto water color card stock. I got a bunch of backgrounds out of this one and decided to go with this one. Since the white background from the water color paper looked kind of blah I sponged distress inks on top. I also  outlined some of the bigger stars with a fine black pen. Added iridescent tape (with stars, too) and the sentiment (lil' Inkers). In teh end I also added some Stickles. For my second card I did the same thing. I used emerald and grey Brushos and used photo paper instead. Again I got a bunch of backgrounds out of this one. The cute dragon is from My Favorite Things, as is the sentiment....

Twofer Challenge #12

Hi Everyone, of course I could not let that Twofer challenge go by and I din't even wait until the last moment. The theme was too good - BIRDS - one of my favorite stamps to buy! I can never say no to bird stamps... Do you have certain types of stamps you simply have to have, despite already owning lots of them? Or am I the only one out there???? I used this super long bird stamp from Carabelle Studio - it is the cutest thing ever! I stamped it diagonally onto card #1 and colored it with Inktense. The coloring took a while - I find it not so easy to choose so many colors and not have it look incoherent or cluttered. I think I succeeded.... The second card did not get a lot of coloring - I was colored out at this point, ha ha.... It received a bit of masking.  It was a bit fiddly to make it all work - a couple of tries to get the round die cut opening the correct size and how to squeeze in the sentiment under the bird beaks, etc. Livene...
