Ink blowing at the Friday Mashup

Just a quick post for now - its late and my bed is calling..... Friday Mashup has a fun technique, that I have done before - quite a while ago  (you can see that card HERE )- its ink blowing. We actually did that when we were kids.....So of course I could not resist and had to make a card: Its super fast to do. You need glossy paper and some ink and a thin straw. One drip of ink is plenty and the patterns are really fabulous. It takes some time to dry.... Added some black splatters. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations:   Subway Art Builders: Create . Since its glossy paper you need to use Staz-on ink. This is so much fun - go and blow some cards!

Make It Monday #114: Blown Ink

I just had time to watch the Make it Monday video at Nichole Heady's blog . Dawn McVey shares a technique that I remember from my childhood when we had fountain pens and blew the ink around on paper.  I guess good things never die...  I experimented a bit. My regular card stock that I use did not really work well - it just soaked up the ink. I took some glossy paper then - nothing fancy, just some advertisement that had a white back, dripped a drop of ink on it and blew with a straw. On glossy paper you can get real detail and it looks quite cool, I think. The sentiment is from one of my favorite Papertrey sets called Happy Trails, the bird I die cut from a paint chip - its from Memory Box, called perched Reed Bird. I gave it a little enamel eye and beak.
