Merry Monday #116

I guess its time to make more Christmas cards! I basically could not resist playing in the Merry Monday challenge - such a great inspiration picture this time! Who would have thought green wood looks so good? Although I still think there is something missing here - perhaps I should have grunged up the wood a bit? What do you think? But regardless it too late for that now....I am just not good with grunge....      I am also linking this card with my favorite challenge - the Snippets Playground - the stars and the white bottom panel are snippets and with Simply Create Too - Christmas in July - I am on the DT there - you have another week to link up your creations - see you there, perhaps? Also linking with  Virgina's view  - die cuts Materials: Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate, Memory Box die: Modern Landscape, Mama Elephant - Merry Greetings, Simon Says star dies, copper brads - see those door knobs in the picture? Had to g...

All white Christmas card

For somebody like me, who loves color this is really hard.... I struggled.... but ultimately I liked the outcome: I used the Hero Arts Holiday Wishes, set for the sentiment. I used my favorite Memory Box die - Modern Landscape and a Sizzix Embossing Folder,  I added some Stickles, the sentiment is heat embossed in silver. And those are the challenges I'll put this card in: Less is More  - White Christmas Keep  it Simple  - All is white Christmas card challenges CHNC extra challenge   - anything Christmas And of course this card is going into the  Snippets Playground , since I used left over white card stock for the die cuts and sentiment. Thanks for visiting - hope to see you back soon! Have a great day!

Merry Monday #67

Another Christmas card to add to my growing collection..... Merry Monday  has this pretty sketch: I had to urn it around to make it fit my favorite Memory Box die  (Modern Landscape). I silver embossed vellum with Hero Arts Tiny Flakes. The ornament is Hero Arts Decorate your Holidays and the sentiment is Paper Smooches. I like the silver embossing - looks really elegant. I hope you like it, too!

52 CCT

I took part in an art exhibit on Sunday with all my cards and got a lot of positive feedback. In the end I was offered the opportunity to sell my cards in an event shortly before Christmas. That got me thinking about Christmas cards.... so I scoured blog land for Christmas Challenges and found 52 CCT . This week there is a sketch challenge, that I somewhat loosely interpreted.... The card stock is really pretty - it has little sparkly specks in it - you can see this better on the close-up. The gnome/Santa is from Papersource, the die is from Memory box and the sentiment is from Stampin' up. The set is called "It's snow time" I colored the Santa with Copics and fuzzy cut it.

Two more Holiday Cards

I am getting close to be finished with my holiday cards, just a few more to go....The first card is made with stamps from Michaels, the tree is Memory Box and the sentiment is Hero Arts (Merriest Wishes). I colored  the stamps with Prismacolor pencils. The patterned paper is Martha Stewart.  The second card is made with a Hampton art stamp from Michaels, the little snowflakes are Rubber soul and the die cut border is from Memory Box.

Christmas Card Swap

I took part in a Christmas Card swap this year and I have received the most wonderful cards. Unfortunately my efforts got somewhat hampered by hurricane Sandy. I just could  not make any cards in the evening - it was too dark and candlelight is not enough. On the weekend it was simply too cold and we spent the day cleaning up the yard and our cluttered basement. As long as we were moving we were okay. But I did make a couple of different cards and here they are: This set I made with  a Memory Box die called "Modern Landscape". The snowflakes stamp is from Hero Arts, called "Stunning Snowflakes". I inked it up with Versamark and embossed it in white. The sentiment is Hero Arts as well (Merriest Wishes). To cause some more contrast I sponged with blue ink on the background before I glued the die cut on it. It does not show well, but I put some Stickles on the border of the die cut and put some Stickles on the stars next to the sentiment. The card on the...
