Bug Jar

I made this card for the Moxie Fab - cool canning jar challenge . I gave it a silver lid - to be able to play with the Paper Players this week - just for the pure fun of it! They want us to use silver or gold....And over at Addicted to CAS the requirement is vellum. This card was just pure fun to make! The stamps are from Sparkle N Sprinkle. The water is made with vellum and a touch of Copics, some twine, real easy! The lid I made from metallic silver card stock. Stamped on it with Staz on.  Just in time for the flu season - Gesundheit!

Happy Birthday Darnell!

The wonderful Darnell from djcardkreations  is celebrating her birthday today!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY you sweetheart! I wish you many more. I love seeing your new creations and your blogposts - they are a treat to read! You have inspired my at so many levels - thank you! I am sure everyone knows Darnell - if not you better head over to her wonderful blog..... Darnell, this is for you: I hope you like it! I got inspired by this weeks "Masking with die cuts" over at  Make it Mondays . The super talented Erin Lincoln is showing us how to do this expertly. Its a great video to watch! So I went to "work" on this card. I diecut post it notes for masking, sponged around them and then stamped in the flowers, deliberately leaviing an off center white border around the stamps. the happy is die cut from a paint chip. All supplies are by Papertrey. Added some tiny white dots and some sprinkles of Mr. Huey. There is a linky Party going on over at Ardyths b...

Hi, friends!  It's time for another new  FIFTH WEEK  challenge here at House of Cards!  We've got a fabulous one for you this fortnight and we cannot wait to see what you've got in store for us!  Since our entire DT will be creating for this one, there is TONS of inspiration for you to choose from! Go over to the House of Cards  blog and see what our fabulous DT has created! You see I got inspired by the striped pillows and the vertical lines in this photo. I used a TCW stencil. The sentiment is by Papertrey - Mum's the Word. And those enamel dots - again! This WEEK, we're asking for  ANY AND ALL STYLES OF CREATIONS PLUS USE THIS PHOTO INSPIRATION ~ I hope to see you there! THIS IS A ONE WEEK CHALLENGE...please make sure to get your entries in before next Sunday at noon CST! :) I'm also  adding this card to the  Moxie Fab STENCIL challenge   and to Virginia's View challenge - its stencils f...

A Graphic Card for the Muse

Lyndal made a real stunning card for the  Muse  challenge, her card is below. I took my all time favorite TCW stencil to create this graphic card. The vertical stripes remind me about the trees and the coloring - well that is straight from Lyndals card. I added Paper Candy dots and colored them with Copics. I like those things - much cheaper than enamel dots and you can color them really easily in any color to fit your project. The only drawback is, that they are relatively large and only come in one size..... The sentiment is  Papertrey - Happy Trails Here is Lyndal's card: I am also adding this card to  Less is more   - Rules of Three recipe - used 3 colors   Moxie Fab STENCIL challenge

Trendy Feathers

I discovered a new challenge blog called  Steckenpferdchen . The challenge for this month is "Feathers" - Federn. Its a German blog, yeahh! (Dann sollte ich vielleicht auf Deutsch weiterschreiben.....) Since I have this beautiful feather set from Stamplorations, called Trendy Feathers I had to play in this challenge.... All stamp are form this set. The color block I made with a stencil I cut with my rectangular My Favorite Things Dienamics dies and sponged. The little "buttons" are Paper Pandy - colored with Copics - much cheaper than enamel dots and easier to ship..... I combined this with the sketch from   CAS Colours and Sketches  and the colors from Annabelle stamps - I have not played in that challenge in ages.....and since I made myself a stencil for this card, I also will link it with the  Moxie Fab STENCIL challenge  and   Less is more   - Rules of Three recipe - used 3 colors and 3 feathers!       ...

Friday Mashup #144 Second card

So here is my second card for the  The  Friday Mashup : I love this stamp over your stencil technique! I learned that in the    Stenciled online class. The stars are by  Papertrey - I die cut my stencil. I then stamped over the stencil with stamps from the Papertrey Dot Spot set. The sentiment is by CASual Fridays- the set is called RAD. The tiny stars are by MFT. I am also linking this card with the  Trendy Star Moxie Fab challenge  color me...! challenge - 5 colors of one's choice - mine are neon yellow, orange, pink, purple and black Dream Valley challenges - no designer paper

Friday Mashup #144

The Friday Mashup  is almost over..... a nd I made this card with the challenge in mind. So this is going to be short - I also used the stencil spray technique that we learned about in the Stenciled online class. The sentiment is a concoction from Impression Obsession and Neat&Tangled. The stencil is by TCW. The small die cut stars are by Simon Says. I did not have time to make an envelope and right now I don't need any more thank you cards, but it's Bar Mitzvah "season" in my son's class, so I'm going to need lots of those... Create a project with  "Stars." Create a set of  "Thank you Cards with Matching Envelopes" .  Or Mash it Up and create a set of  "Thank you Cards & Envelopes using Stars." I am also linking this card with the Trendy Star Moxie Fab challenge

All That Glitters is Gold Challenge

This is my third card for th e  All That Glitters is Gold Challenge over at Moxie Fab , but it is the first one I really made for it and it is seriously golden.... I made myself a stencil with a Papertrey embossing plate, laid it on a sheet of acetate and sprayed it with glue. I pulled the stencil off and sprinkled the whole sticky mess with glitter.  The glitter is EVERYWHERE....... I used my Fresh squeezed sentiment  and mounted gold paper candy on a white strip of card stock and adhered it with double sided tape onto the acetate and an additional strip adhering the acetate to the base layer. IT seriously glitters - its really hard to photograph, so I made several pictures.  This was not really my idea. I saw something similar on the recent Scrapbook Expo I went to. I can't remember the exhibitor who had it....... And of course this card is going into the  Snippets Playground , since I used left over white card stock...

Fresh Squeezed stamps Birthday Bash #2

One more card for the  Fresh Squeezed stamps Birthday Bash. I combined it with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge - its such a beautiful layout! I inked up my  Everyday Expressions  stamp set with Delicata ink. I added some scor lines, although its hard to see them in the picture. Th e  sequins are from Neat and Tangled. I put strips of golden shimmer paper on the sides. It looks quite elegant in real life.  I am also linking this up with the Moxie Fab challenge - All that Glitters is gold and Seize the Birthday  - my topping are the sequins!

TAWS#37

The clock is ticking for the TAWS challenge  - but there are 2 more days left to play. For once I am not scrambling at the last minute..... Here is the card I made: I tried to mimic the clock frame with an EK sucess punch. All stamps are TAWS - Bird Brain and  Jibber Jabber. I gold embossed the birds and colored the beaks with a metallic pen. I also used a touch of Stickles, although it does not show in the picture.....And, of course the googly eyes- they make those birds even more unique! I love the Bird Brain set - it makes me smile every time I use it! And just for the fun of it I am going to enter this into the Moxie Fab challenge  - All that Glitters is Gold!

52 CCT#20

Hi everybody, I am back with another Christmas card. This one is for the 52CCT challenge - the theme is "Holly".  I am also putting this card into the Moxie Fab Holiday card challenge  and the  Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge I used a Martha Stewart Holly punch for this card. The diecut and sentiment is from Prickley Pear. And I wrapped a sheer piece of fabric around red cardstock, which has snowflakes imprinted in silver on it. Its really pretty and I like how festive it looks on this card. I also used a glitzy snowflake on top of the ornament and adhered it with a brad. This card is pretty simple to make - perhaps I'll make more of the same , although I much rather come up with something new.....

Happy B'day Neat & Tangles!

Happy B'day Neat & Tangles !  I just discoved the challenge, being away on vacation and trying to get back into my usual routine. Unfortunately I don't yet have any neat and Tangled stamps, but thankfully they are not a requirement. .... And without further ado - here is my Birthday card for you: I hope you like it! Materials: paint chips from Home Depot, enamel dot, sentiment Hero Arts Essential Messages, square paper punch I am also linking this card up with the Moxie Fab Birthday Sketch challenge and the Simon Says Triangle challenge.

Paper Smooches and Moxie Fab

I never throw anything out, that could be potentially useful...... Probably years ago I got some flowers bouquets wrapped in sheer fabric - one yellow, one orange and I kept that for future use - today is the day! And I do take recycling seriously! I cut the fabric in triangular strips and layered the strips overlapping onto the card stock. Before that I stamped my sentiment both from the Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler set.  I tied a bow around it, underlayed the white center panel with orange strips of paper and mounted the whole thing on a white card with foam spacers. Some enamel dots finish it off! A close-up picture and below the inspiration photo from the Paper Smooches Sheer and clear challenge : And the Moxie Fab Birthday card challenge is still ongoing and I will link this card up with it as well. --X-- And now as promised, some more Calgary pics - this time modern art in this wonderful city: ...
