Happy New Year!!!

If you have not yet seen the inspiration picture at Inkspirational - go and have a look (its below, too) - just amazing. I knew I had to play.....And this is perfect for a New Years card, since I am a little tired of making Christmas cards..... I basically recreated this beautiful picture finally putting my Memory Box City Scape dies to good use... I have used them before, but forgot to take a picture of the card, before I sent it out.... I off set the die cuts just a tad. The black paper is glitter paper -looks really fabulous in real life. For teh firework I played around a little bit, since I don't have a die for it. I wanted to use the Memory Box Chloe Stem die  and turn it upside down, but I did not like the look of it - too bulky. So I cut it apart, as you can see: I thought that looks better....The sentiment is by STAMPlorations  Sentiment Builders: Christmas & New Year  and  Bloom Sketches . Added some Wink of Stell...

Addicted to Stamps and More #126

Its challenge time at ATSM ! And its Everybody's favorite theme- Amything Goes! I go the idea for this card from the amazingly talented Laura Bassen , which has made a video demonstrating the technique over at Papertrey's Make it Monday . Its a worthwhile video to watch and its short....Its easy to do, but a bit time consuming, as you have to make several die-cuts and glue them together. But the result is great  -I love it! Materials: all die cuts from Papertrey - the silver stars are the leftovers from the Papertrey snowflakes, the little trees you get from the happy sentiment - its the inside of the  letter "Y" turned upside down :) the other sentiments are by STAMPlorations ( Bloom Sketches: Daisy 2 ,  Bloom Sketches: Sunflower Artsy )  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is  http://www.qkrstampede.com/ the prize is 3 free digis I am also playing in the  Jingle Belles challenge  - Anything Goes Snippets Pl...

Cornelia playing with Oldies, but Goodies

Hi Everyone, Cornelia is back playing with some of the older STAMPlorations sets today!  I used one of my favorite techniques - sponging and one of my favorite gadgets to make those cards - the Stamp-a-majig. So, lets get started - I masked white card stock with post it notes - I like to do this an a grid pad, to get my lines straight. I used a Kaleidocolor inkpad for this card - in my opinion you can use any kind of ink for sponging - I have used them all with similar results. I basically just pick the colors I like..... As you can see - I went with yellow and green. I stamped the little number stamp on the clear plastic sheet that comes with the Stamp-a-majig, using Versafine ink (my favorite) This way your stamping stays very exact: Next I stamped the daisy and heat embossed it with superfine WOW embossing powder - I like the detail of that powder. I then colored the daisy - also in yellow and green, but used my Brushos for th...

STAMPlorations October Challenge

Hi, its time for the new monthly challenge at STAMPlorations ! We want you to use your stamps and embossing - both heat embossing or dry embossing is just fine. I used both in my card...... I used a strip of colored paper and stamped those fun shapes from the  VIGNETTE: Retro Mod Shapes  on it with Versamark and heat embossed it. I then sponged the strip with slightly darker distress inks, to bring out those shapes. The banner is from the same set and the sentiment is from  Bloom Sketches . I dry embossed the back panel with a Sizzix embossing folder.           I just love those rainbow colors.  Our wonderfully creative DT has beautiful cards to inspire you to play! Our guest designer this month is the amazing  Virginia Lu  - you all know her for sure! And here is the October prize pack - if you play in all 3 challenges you have a chance to win this fabulous prize: 12 assorted ru...

STAMPlorations and Brushos

Cornelia here today, playing again with Brushos - my new favorite "toy" I just love those colors! And Brushos are so easy to use. Here is my tutorial: I started out with water color paper, Versamark and that beautiful STAMPlorations Damask background stamp. I used mu embossing buddy first, to get clean embossing.  Her is a little trick I learned from Jennifer McGuire - on large stamps I put the paper on the stamp and then rub my fingers over the paper to get all the ink onto the paper rather than pressing the stamp onto the paper. You see that I did not even bother to remove the stamp from its plastic sheet.... I sprinkled it with white embossing powder - clear would probably work just as well, but my clear embossing powder is not as fine as my white one and I wanted all that detail.  I sprinkled various Brusho greens onto the paper, starting with turquoise at the top. The paper then looks like you added a little bit of pepper from...

STAMPlorations September challenge

This is my second post today - for the Simply Create Too challenge , please scroll down - you may want to do that, since I have also been using STAMPlorations stamps there and a fun new product ;) Its September and guess what that means - a new STAMPlorations challenge ! This one really caused me a headache. I had no clue what to make. My mind just went blank. Nothing, zilch, nada..... And I am fully aware that I am not very good at using my Copics.....That does not help. Finally my sister gave me an idea - kind of at the last moment..... and here it is: I used a TCW stencil and a fine tipped marker to draw the circles. I then doodled into some of them and added color  using using the round stamp from the  VIGNETTE: Retro Mod Shapes . The banner is from the same set  - I fussy cut it . The sentiment is from  Bloom Sketches , which I heat embossed in white. Mounted it with foam tape. Lastly I glued the white card stock onto a grey base card. ...
