STAMPlorations Sketch challenge #8

Hi everybody, Its time for  a new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations ! using:  Artful Flutters,  MOM SUBWAY ART BUILDERS #1  - Mom's the Word,  MOM SUBWAY ART BUILDERS #2  - Grace in Each Step,  Distressed Damask Background March 17 - Sketch #8 The challenge ends March 31, the winner will be announced April 2. Hero Arts Scramble and Virginia's View challenge#1

I made this card in last Saturday's Hero Arts scramble and thought it would fit in nicely with Virginia Lu's watercolor challenge. Somehow the colors turned out a bit draber than I thought, so I made it into a sympathy card. Unfortunately every once in a while I need one. All stamps are Hero Arts. The sentiment is heat embossed in black. It also fits the One Layer Simplicity challenge - just add water

Sour Cream containers

This is such a pretty color combination at Pals Paper Arts  and as luck will have it at Crazy for CAS   and with Valentine's day coming closer I thought I'll make some Valentines ...... I just discovered how to make Sour Cream containers (you can watch THIS youtube video on how to) and thought they are just too cute. Had to try this. But if you want a quick tutorial how to make those I took some pictures for you: You start out with a 4 x 6" piece of paper - should not be too thick and add adhesive on one short and one long side - of course you can make this as big as you want... Form a roll and stick the short sides together Press down on the adhesive - you can use your paper crimper for additional stability It looks pretty, too, but is not necessary. Then you fill it with goodies and crimp the open end, perpendicular to the other end. The crimping will actually hold the paper together without any adh...

PPA #186 and welcome to 3 New Members

This year already has been so good to me - I have 3 more new members, I just won the TAWS challenge #44 with THIS card and best of all I made the Stamplorations DT - I guess I don't have to keep this a secret, since it was posted on the blog. So lets greet the new members in order of joining: jellybeanerz - so sorry, could not find a blog, but I will add it, if you let me know Shery  the owner of those gorgeous Stamplorations stamps (I linked the shop, so you can check them out yourself).  Sandi Munro , who in addition to her own blog is on the DT for Addicted to Stamps and More  and Inkspirational I am in awe of all this talent that is joining my blog - I hope you will like what I'll make the future. And here is my welcome picture for you: I just love this - it is by El Anatsui , who had an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum last March. He works with recycled materials - metal bottle caps in fact and creates those amazing pieces that look like fabric...
