ATSM Challenge #116

This is my second post today - for the Spotlight project click HERE  or scroll down. Hi Everyone - its challenge time at Addicted to Stamps and More ! And its everyone's favorite theme - Anything Goes. No theme, no limitations - let your inspiration soar!  I made a fun card for this challenge - I had a great time making it: I used the the STAMPlorations set  PATCHWORK FRENZY: Graphic Pentagons  to make some fish. I just doodled their fins and gave them googly eyes....the background I made with a Tim Holtz stencil (dot fade) and masked the pentagons. For the sentiment I used the  Sentiment Builders: Christmas & New Year   - it's so versatile, it does not limit you to the Holidays.        And here si our sponsor for this challenge:  Rick St. Dennis  The winner will get 3 digis. And here are my stamping supplies:  And one more look at my card - 'cause I like it that ...

Little Tangles and KIS

Neat and Tangled is celebrating and I just discovered that the current challenge is about to end. I needed some Thank You cards, so I decided to make a few for this challenge over at Little Tangles  - create a gift.  I took the diamond stamp from Neat and Tangled and heat embossed it in white. The round Thanks is also by Neat and Tangled - Everyday Circles.  I made two of each, slightly changing the  cars, with splatters on the first, twine on the second and sequins and silver string on the  third. Here you can see the three cards together: I put them in a clear gift box, together with the envelopes and added some more twine: I hope you like them! I am also adding them to the current KIS challenge - Ombre     Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes The Alphabet Challenge Blog - O for ombre Just Add ink - rainbow - All three cards together make a rainbow

KIS - Stickers

Keep it Simple has Stickers as a theme - only Stickers they say, but even the DT did not take that too seriously, added stenciling, patterned paper, etc.... So I added a stamped sentiment and some sponging to my card......And my stack in the stickers department is rather non-existent. although I have one sheet that I bought last year at Michaels in a post Halloween sale and then I had one sheet of ants dating back even further from a rummage bin at AC Moore and finally they get their spotlight! So, that's it. I used a stencil for the orange fumes and made myself a stencil for the green slime. I just love Halloween! The sentiment is from Michael's too. I am also linking this card with  Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - Anything goes Thanks for visiting and thanks for your comments. I wish you all a great day!

Birthday Fishes

I recently ordered some Paper Smooches stamps (because I don't yet have enough stamps, LOL).....they are just so damn cute - hard to resist..... But anyhow this set came in handy for this weeks Paper Smooches challenge . The inspiration picture is below - subtle stripes in blue, yellow and soft pink. I used the fish from the set Birthday Buddies, stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it in silver - those jars have a silver lid. I made a mask for the fishes and then used a Memory Box stencil to sponge the stripes waves. I colored the fish with Copics - stripes here as well.   You see the silver embossing better on the oblique image, straight on it looks like black ink....  Added the sentiment and bubbles (with glossy accents) and a jute bow. this is a one layer card, which qualifies it also for the A Blog named Hero challenge - which is collaborating with Paper Smooches right now I will also link up with KIS - add a bow Seize the Birthd...

KIS#38

I have not played with Keep it Simple in a while - time to change that.... this is about doing something bright - not sure how bight that is, but its the best I could do tonight.... Needed a birthday card.... The stamp is by Technique Tuesday, colored with watercolor pencils. The balloon is Mama Elephant from the party kit (on foam tape) and well, an enamel dot as you can see.  Sorry for the short post  - had to work late - not much time....I wish the day had 48 hours....

KIS - Lecker

I made that card for the Keep it Simple challenge - the theme is "Lecker- Delicious". What could be more delicious than a crisp juicy apple and a sweet pear at its peak of ripeness??? I love to eat fruit, so that's what delicious is for me :) I hope you like my card - I certainly do. The stamps are by Stamp in the Hand and the sentiment is a concoction of TAWS stamps heat embossed on vellum. The vellum was a snippet - therefore I am also linking this up with the Snippets Playground  and CAS is the theme at Addicted to Stamps

Mondrian Valentine

I thought I give the usual Valentine's card a little modern twist - this is for art lovers....... For the longest time I wanted to make a  Mondrian  card and the   Keep it simple   challenge finally made me do it.  The  theme is square. I used that cute little TAWS set called PIECES to help me out with the card: The rest of the lines I drew in. The colored squares I stamped on card stock and cut them out.  Lastly I cut my square "Mondrian" and mounted it on black paper to give it a nice defined edge. How would you like to have your own "Mondrian"? Just make one yourself...... I am also linking this card with the Time Out challeng e  -  Love and/or Friendship - its a new challenge blog and is right now looking for a DT. They have some cool twists on their challenges   - go over and check it out   Addicted to CAS  - LOVE - as expressed in the sentiment

Make it Monday #147

I dabbled around to come up with something for this weeks Make it Monday . Betsy  Feldman inspires us to create multi-layer images form a single stamp. I struggled a bit with the subject, since I don't have any PTI stamps that lend themselves easily to this technique. Again, I had to improvise - as I often do for Make it Monday. I pulled out the little flower stamp set from the signature series  - one of those sets I have in my stash now for who-knows-how-long and never used....Not sure why, its so pretty! I inked up the flower with my Kaleidocolor inkpad, stamped it 3 times and fuzzy cut it. I embossed a strip with the PTI Woodgrain embossing plate, colored the edge with Copics, to give it more definition and mounted the flowers with different  height foam tape. The sentiment isfrom the same stamp set. Added some Memory Box pearls. I am also adding this card to Keep it Simple - Anything goes Snippets Playgroun d - used Snippets for the flowers an...

Lavinia and Stamplorations again!

Good morning my friends, I could not resist - having a quiet morning to sneak up into my card room and make another card for  Stamplorations .....I liked yesterdays card, but it really is not my style. So here is card #2: I used this gorgeous dandelion stamp set from Lavinina - had it for a while now, but never used it, stamping them with Versamark and sponging around them with aqua and light blue ink. I then cut the squares. I used the same stamps again stamping directly onto the card base and mounted the squares on foam dots to elevate them. I put some Stickles on the dandelions - I think it shows best in the magnified view. I was inspired by   Heather Telford , one of my heros, who once made a card with dandelions in a similar way. I will also link this card with Lavinia  - anything goes Keep it Simple  - anything goes Inkspirational  - anything goes   Creative Friday  - no Christmas card Crafts4eternity ...

Blog Candy Winner and a card, of course!

First the card! Keep it Simple wants to see sticky  notes on the cards. I kind of got stuck on the Holiday card theme, since I need to have a lot more and kind of wanted to now only make holiday cards, if possible until Christmas.  I took some arrow shaped sticky notes from my stash and arranged them in the shape of - guess what? A tree, of course!  Added some sequins. The sentiment is by Inkadinkadoo. I like it. Its really pretty and it kind of off sets the strong, geometric tree. This was super quick to make. I added some pink lines on the side - used a Copic marker for it. I am also linking this card with the CHNC challenge - Anything Christmas So, are you curious, who are going to be the lucky winners? I used a very sophisticated system - wrote the names on a piece of cardstock, got a hat and had my son pick two. This is for my winners - stunning colors. I took that picture in the Bronx Botanical Garden on Wedn...

All white Christmas card

For somebody like me, who loves color this is really hard.... I struggled.... but ultimately I liked the outcome: I used the Hero Arts Holiday Wishes, set for the sentiment. I used my favorite Memory Box die - Modern Landscape and a Sizzix Embossing Folder,  I added some Stickles, the sentiment is heat embossed in silver. And those are the challenges I'll put this card in: Less is More  - White Christmas Keep  it Simple  - All is white Christmas card challenges CHNC extra challenge   - anything Christmas And of course this card is going into the  Snippets Playground , since I used left over white card stock for the die cuts and sentiment. Thanks for visiting - hope to see you back soon! Have a great day!

KIS #23 and Welcome to a New Member

I have another new member on my blog! Yippee! Getting closer to that magic 100....... I want to welcome  Nessa - The Craftee Laydee She has a fun blog - very creative! And she has a great sense of humor - and that's why I choose that picture. I don't know the artist, but it adorns a subway station in Brooklyn - its the exit for the Brooklyn Museum. I hope you like it Nessa and I hope you like what you'll see on my blog! --X-- When I was at the Scrapbook Expo on Saturday I bought this lovely stamp from Rubber Necker and knew immediately I wanted to use it for the KIS challenge I love poppies and I love the artsy fell of this stamp.  I am also linking this up with this weeks  Simon Says challenge - Anything goes Thanks for coming over and thanks for all you lovely comments - they are so appreciated and stimulate me to keep crafting! Have a great day everybody!
