Shaker Card

Hi Everyone, is me again, this time with a Shaker card, I made for the 50th birthday of a good friend of mine. I took my Papertrey numbers and die cut them into a shaker card. The sentiment is also by Papertrey. Added some striped paper (an envelope liner - got a lot of mileage out of this one) and an enamel dot. Linking up with: AAA Challenges - CAS Shaker Shopping our Stash  - pink (the numbers are several years old)

Guest Designing at Retro Rubber #10

Hi Everyone, I got invited to join in the fun for the next two weeks at Retro Rubber ! This is a fun challenge - you have to use your older stamps! What a great excuse to pull them out again and have them smell some ink! This week's challenge is real easy - its heat embossing! I pulled out this Hero Arts triangle background stamp, inked it up with Versamark and sprinkled WOW gold embossing powder in the center. For the outer part I used white embossing powder. That WOW embossing powder is amazing. Its very detailed and has a wonderful gold tone. I sloshed watercolor around ti and let it dry. Heat embossed that fun STAMPLorations HAPPY stamp from the  set  SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Happy  on vellum and attached it. The 50 is by Papertrey and the sequins are MFT.  I also wrapped some thin gold thread around the vellum. The numbers are mounted with foam  tape, as is the large sequin. I made that card for an "old" friend of mine - its going to Germany!...

AAA challenge

Time again to play in the AAA challenge and this time i t is :  make a shaker card. I wanted to make a special card anyhow for my sister's BIG birthday. I love the inspiration picture and a card was born! I took the Papertrey numbers and die cut my card stock. Attached acetate behind and foam tape around the numbers. I first had some thicker foam tape, but all the sequins basically disappeared in a small clump when holding the card upright....so I disassembled it and took thinner foam tape - looks like a lot more sequins all of a sudden...  I heat embossed the sentiment in silver (Neat&Tangled - Across the card), to match the inspiration photo and added silver string with a brad and beads. Since all the beads were just lumping up when the card was upright and didn't look like anything I attached tiny drops of glossy accents to make them stay where they are.... I am also playing with this card at  Less is More  - Anything Goes Simon ...

Happy 2014!

I wish you all a HAPPY, HEALTHY and CRAFTY NEW YEAR! I just wanted to share a actually not so quick card with you. I used a brand new Darice embossing folder for the firework and took my quickie glue pen and drew along the lines. The glue dries up kind of fast, so you have to do this in sections.  I sprinkled glitter on it. the numbers are cut with the PTI numbers border die, using glitter card stock. It actually looks fantastic in real life - just like a real firework - here is looks kind of cheesy.... I am sharing it anyhow. Both my husband and son really liked it - usually I just can get an "oh , its nice" out of them.... I am linking this card with  CAS-ual Fridays CASology - Party CAS on Sunday  - Happy New Year Red Carpet Studios - New Year's Eve Just us Girls  - its a photo inspiration - New Year themed, see below

Make it Monday #146

Hello again, I am playing with Make it Monday . The theme is to create an angled background. Ashley Newell  has a great video to show you how to do just that. I choose to go with all white, using all the PTI embossing plates that I own.... Its pretty quick and easy to make this card - just up my alley.... All the other supplies are PT as well - except the sequins.  I am not so happy with the small "happy", but I don't have any larger one from PTI - may be I should invest into more supplies - what do you think? I am also linking this card with the  Snippets Playground - use snippets. I used paint chips for the numbers and the TH - they are all different shades of red, but it does not show to well in the photo....

Make it Monday#140

Make it Monday is basically a direct to paper technique, where you smear the ink on paper, without dirtying up your stamps, hahaha.... Ashley Newell shows you how to do that in a video. Simple and quick - my kind of schtuff.... I needed a masculine birthday card for a friend of mine - so I picked a masculine(?) color scheme, smeared the ink on white cardstock, which I had embossed with the PTI numbers embossing plate.  The little numbers and the sentiment arealso PTI (Global Greetings) The possibilities are endless - can think of lots of color schemes here.  I am also linking this card with Seize the Birthday - the theme is texture - love it, when things just fall into place... And with Simon Says Monday challenge - got ink
