Peace for Ukraine

Hi Everyone, these days I feel myself consumed about the war Russia is waging in Ukraine. It is just unbelievable and senseless in so many ways. I feel it's just another step back into the dark past. There are so many things that nowadays are going backwards instead of forward, but this war impacts a nation of 44 million people and many of which have already lost or given up their homes, being separated, living in fear or have lost a loved one. And it's just the beginning. It also seems that only a small minority really wants this. My heart goes out for everybody that got affected, including those Russians, who found themselves trapped in this grisly situation. I figured I make a card, joining many of my card makers that want to express their solidarity with Ukraine. You may know that there is a card auction on Instagram ( https://www.instagram.com/ukrainecarddrive/?hl=en ) and there is a #cardsforukraine link up on Instagram as well.   I don't really have a dove, so I used

Polar Bear Christmas Card

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with the paper piecing challenge at  52 CCT  and combining it with the Polar Bear Day challenge at the  Day of the Month Card Club  .  I used the pretty set Nordic Noel  from Funky Fossil Designs. I stamped the trees and polar bear onto patterned paper and heat embossed them in gold. Cut them out. Hope this qualifies for paper piecing......Added some Stickles to the trees. Trimmed my background paper and added a strip of gold glitter tape to the side. Heat embossed the sentiment. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  Happy Stamping! Topflight Stamps - Nature Card with Katzelkraft

Hi Everyone, It's  Topflight Stamps   day!  This week we are featuring stamps by Katzelkraft.  I figured instead of my usual funny card I go with something more serene this time. Katzelkraft has a nature stamp line - but you probably know that.  I made a smooshed background with an acrylic block and distress oxide inks (Mermaid lagoon, peeled paint, wild honey). I stamped the dill and butterflies on it. Added the word stamps in similar colored inks.  I also stamped the butterflies again on heat resistant acetate and heat embossed them in black. Colored their backside with alcohol inks and cut them out. I colored the butterflies on the card with orange Inktense pencils. I glued the bodies of the cut out butterflied to the stamped ones and bent them a bit, so you can see the dimension. It's also nice when the light falls through the acetate. Added some white enamel accents to the wings. Also added some splatters. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  See you next wee

Katzelkraft - Frog Olympics

Hi Everyone, I am back with my weekly Katzelkraft post. Did you watch the Olympics? I did only a little bit. But I liked the lack of advertisements in the ice rink. Refreshing. Also liked the blue colors of the backdrop. So in honor of the Olympic games I made this card: I started with making the background. Made myself a stencil for it and sponged or better brushed. Added the sentiment. I stamped the frogs and podium and colored the frogs with water brush pens and markers. Brushed the podium. Cut them out. Glued the podium and frogs to the card. I trimmed the card and added a strip of patterned paper on the side. The stamps I used are from the following sets: Grenouilles - KTZ235, Accessoires  - KTZ 156, Adventure Begins - KTZ203    ( FRANCE) Frogs  - KTZ235,  Funny  Accessories  - KTZ 156,  Adventure Begins  - KTZ203   (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Nachteulen Sc

Masculine Christmas Card

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with the masculine challenge provided by  52 CCT . I had no idea there is such a thing as a masculine Christmas card......Got me thinking.....  So I figured blue is masculine enough and Christmas Craft Creations has as theme blue and silver - so that's how I arrived at my colors. I used an Impression Obsession background and used my favorite shifty reindeer die as adornment. Agonized over the sentiment and in the end decided its good enough without one. Added some silver thread and silver Washi tape at the bottom. I heat embossed the reindeer twice with silver embossing powder to get good thick coating. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  Happy Stamping!    Hi Everyone, The new February release coming into the shop on Friday at  Funky Fossil Designs !  Today is the fourth day of the stamp reveal. This super adorable set  is called Bugs and Blooms and is designed by Donna Gray. You all know what a huge fan I am of her stamps. So I am delighted I get to play with another one of her sets. I first stamped the background - it's one of the A7 stamps ( Bursts of Round ). I stamped the beetle and the bee. Stamped both of them again onto scrap paper and colored them with Copics. Cut them out. Glued the cut outs over the stamped images on the card. Added some coloring to the background stamp.  The sentiment is heat embossed and added with foam tape. I also added some Stickles to the wings. As with every new release there will also be new dies and enamel dots. You'll see it all on Friday, the release day.  A lot to look forward to!
