Two Cards

Hi Everyone, I have two cards today, trying to play in some challenges, one of which is soon going to end. My first card I made for The Ton - gotta play in their first challenge! their theme is celebrate and yes they sure have a good reason to celebrate - they just had their anniversary and with all those gorgeous stamps they are selling they are going to be around for a very long time! I used those wonderful peony dies  - I just love them! They cut the glitter paper so well. I have tried cutting glitter paper before with other dies (won't mention the company) but it did not really work for me. Those cut like butter! I added the sentiment (also from The Ton) to a strip of black glitter paper and heat embossed it. added two blue gems. --------------- My second card I made for Ellen Hudson - its "Mix it up with Avery Elle " I recently bought that cute Avery Elle set with the tree in the car (because I need more Christmas stamps...) and i...

Hidden Message

Hi, some challenges just appeal to me and I have to play.....this was the case with the challenge going on at  Shopping our Stash , which I stumbled upon somehow.....the theme is Hide and Seek - put a hidden element on your card. Ans since I am still in full blown Valentine's mood - that gallery I am selling my cards at here locally has asked for some.....I made one for Valentine's Day: I punched out the tiny envelope (an ancient Marvy punch) and the hearts. The latter are from paint chips - give you perfect color coordination, although in the photo the smallest heart does not look darker, but it is... The swirl is by Papertrey - Happy Trails, the you is by Avery Elle. The hearts are dangling on a sliver thread and you can pull them out to reveal.... Not really a surprise...... Also playing in Inkspirational - Ombre

Curing the Blues again

Hi, just a quick post - it's late already..... I am again playing in Taheera's Cure for the Monday Blues challenge ....In case you don't know she is celebrating with Winnie &Walter and there is a gift certificate you could win. Can't let that pass by without trying ;)..... I used Avery Elle (the dots) and Neat&Tangled stamps (sentiment) for this card. The die cut feather is by Poppystamps and the little hearts are a die by Simon Says - used glitter paper for that.    This card was really quick to make - I just agonized about how to position everything and some other stuff that I decided against, so you don't see it. Here is that fabulous inspiration picture - hard to resist - right? Do you see that feather in that pine cone? I wanted to make a card suitable for Valentine's day, so I bypassed that pine cone.... Happy Stamping everyone!

AEI♥U Challenge – Paper Piecing

Hi, I am playing in the AEI♥U Challenge  - the theme is Paper Piecing. I pulled out one of my favorite Avery Elle sets - Rounded Diamonds and stamped on patterned paper, cutting out the same stamp at different sizes - the largest petals are the entire stamp. I just love the patterns you can create with this stamp! The sentimen t is also by Avery Elle -  All Squared Up I mounted the outer parts of the petals with foam tape, gluing the inner parts to the card stock. That gives it some outward dimension, although you can not see this in the picture. Punched a little circle from the red paper and added it for balance. I like how this turned out! Happy stamping my friends!
