ric#55 - Pamella Roland

The  Runway inspired challenge   has this gorgeous inspirations photo - courture by Pamella Roland. What a wonderful dress! I made this card: I used glitter paper as a base and heat embossed the damask pattern by PTI on it. I tried it out first to see if it works and it does so beautifully. I used extra fine embsooing powder by Ranger for this, to get the fine detail. The sentiment is from the same set. I mounted it onto black paper and then onto the card base. Added two little gems.  Here is a more detailed picture: It looks quite elegant - just like the dress and sparkles beautifully!

I haven't played at the  RIC  in a while, but I was playing around with my STAMPlorations stamps and liked the color scheme of this gorgeous dress... So here is my card: I made it with the graphic pentagon set .  The pentagons if placed next to each other naturally form a circle. I added some blue - since there is a little blue in that dress and also a bit of gold, for which I used Delicata ink. The center circle is punched - it was black and white patterned paper, which I just sponged in the same ink color as I used for the pentagons I used the Papertrey Linen embossing plate to add subtle texture to the card stock. And now I have to publish this quickly - the linky list is closing in one hour.....

RIC#44

Not much time any more for the RIC - I missed the last couple of challenges - too busy with other stuff.....and this is going to be quick - I had back to school night today and its late..... I used peach colored vellum for my card. The stamp is from Impression Obsession, the die is Memory Box - perched Reed Bird, the sentiment is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps - I won that recently -yeahh and finally go to use it. I heat embossed it. Added a ribbon Here is a close-up: The eye is a tiny enamel dot. I really like it - it came out just as I wanted and envisioned it. I am also linking this card with Simon Says - Anything goes and  Seize the Birthday Have a good night and thanks for stepping by!

RIC #42 and a sweet surprise

I have not played in the Runway Inspired challenge for a while - too many challenges out there. but today I got an inspiration from Eileen - many of you probably know her. She has an amazing blog. When I saw her blog entry today I thought to CASE her idea and use it for the RIC - and thank fully there were still a couple of hours left to make this card: I used alcohol inks on acetate. The die cut is from Simon Says and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession. The butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch. It was a little tricky to make the butterflies. The acetate I used for the card was too thick and the punch did not work I used thin acetate for my next try, but it punched it badly. Finally I used thin acetate and a layer of paper on top and that did the trick. On the card the colored acetate side is facing the white card stock, so the surface is clean and shiny. The white frame I just cut out of card stock with my paper trimmer. I am also linking this...

RIC #38

Its Runway inspired time again..........   Such an elegant outfit! I love that skirt! Looks so soft and silky and the texture is cool! I tried to capture all of this in my card:  I used a Sizzix embossing folder. The lilac paper I stamped wiht Versamark and clear embossed it, using the Hero Arts background lace stamp.  Teh sentiment is from Papertrey and the roses are a die from Memeory Box. I stuck little pearls inside. I had to photograph the card from different angles, so that you can see the shimmer......

ric#37 - Fashion East

I have not played with the RIC in a while - well, that has changed now. I liked the inspiration picture: And here is my interpretation of it: I used the Hero Arts set "You  & me". I added some enamel dots to add some red accents, just like in the inspiration photo. The grey background card I embossed with the linen embossing plate from Papertrey to give it some texture and to incorporate the background wall from the inspiration photo. Here is a close-up photo: Uh - its late again.....off to bed............

First I want to give a warm welcome to all my new members! I am so happy you joined my blog. Thank you so much. Andrea   (Die Kreative) Yvonne Chark Kim  Nithyia Christine And as usually I have a welcome picture for my new blog members: The artist is Nathan Sawaya , who  is a New York-based artist who builds three-dimensional sculptures and mosaics from popular everyday items and is best known for his work with LEGO  bricks. Two years ago there was an exhibit in a small museum nearby, which was just fabulous! Perhaps I'll show more of his works  in future posts... --X-- But now, back to card making.... Here is the inspiration photo for the RIC #33                                                                         And here is my ta...

Runway Inspired Challenge #26

I really like this inspiration photo form this month Runway inspired challenge . Isn't that dress gorgeous?! I tried to recreate it on my card, which I made for my sister. It's the first time I tried my alcohol inks, which have been festering in a drawer now for about 9 months....I like the result - I guess I will start using them more. The star/snowflake is from Penny black, the sentiment is Hero Arts. I also liked it up with CASology  #24 "Star" challenge.
