Funky Fossil Designs - New May Release Day 2

Hi Everyone,   Funky Fossil Designs  is coming out with a new release! This is perhaps my favorite set from the new release - It's designed by my most loved stamp designer Donna Gray and its called "Forest Friends". Aren't those the most adorable little animals? I used am impression plate for the background and applied ink directly on it, to get a more real wood look. Used a stiched die to cut the openings and added the wreath ( Leafy Circle die ) The sentiment is from the same set. The release will be in the store on Friday 5/14. Don't forget to visit the DT blogs or the  Funky Fossil Facebook group   for amazing inspiration from those talented girls! Stamp Connection #14

Hi Everyone, Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our fourteenth transatlantic get-together! This time it was Tanja's turn to pick the requirements: Interactive element So I did some research about interactive cards and came upon a video by Sandy Allnock , which was not too lengthy to watch  (Who has time for that???) and you can shorten it, skipping over the coloring part in the beginning....anyhow she explained very well how to do that type of card and i went for it! I did do some modification, don't just want to copy somebody's card, lets call it CASEing ;)   So let's pull the slider I love it - it's purrrrfect!!!  My supplies:  Cat stamps and sentiment - Neat&Tangled,  Woodgrain emb...

Muse Christmas Vision #49

Hi Everyone, I am back to stimulate you to pull out your Christmas supplies and play with us at the  Muse Christmas Vision! I made a real simple card using paint chips (courtesy of Home Depot...... ;) Used a triangle die to cut the paint chips. Added the funny face and arm - stamps by YNS (Your Next Stamp). Punched the speech bubble and added the tiny sentiment (Papertrey). I strung some gold thread with sequins and wrapped it around the front tree - needed some ornaments - after all its a Christmas Tree! I mounted it on a wood colored PP with foam tape. Dry embossed the  back panel (Papertrey) Hope to see you at MCV!

CASE this Sketch

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with CASE this Sketch this week. I pulled out my little used MFT dies and cut them with silver metallic paper. Stringed up the tools on a red string and used wood paper as background, cut with a Simon Says stitched die. In addition I dry embossed the white card stock with my Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. the sentiment is Studio 112 stamps, heat embossed in white.  Uniko Challenge  - masculine/Fathers Day The Paper Players  - Fathers Day Linking up with:

Muse Christmas Vision

Hi Everyone, I felt like making a Christmas card - in July, playing with the Muse Christmas visions ! Perhaps to cool off...although our summer so far has been great - not too hot or humid. Just perfect! I did not do any stamping on this card - it might be a first for me. I went with the unconventional Christmas colors on Chris'  card and the dry embossing. But as you can see I switched the gloves for the tree. I dry embossed the tree as well as my background paper. Die cut the sentiment and used one of those pieces that falls out of the letters for my tree topper.  Chris Blagrave's fun Christmas card: Here is another view: My supplies: Patterned Paper, tree die and background wood embossing - Papertrey, Tree embossing - Sizzix, sentiment die - Simon Says Also linking up with: Crafty Hazelnut Patterned Paper challenge July - anything goes Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge July  - anything Christmas Simon Says Monday challenge ...

Paper Smooches picture challenge

Paper Smooches  has an interesting inspiration picture this week - I basically went with the left half of the picture and came up with this card: I used the Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums Pals, colored that cute crab with Copics and fuzzy cut it. I had some problems with the daisy, until I made my own using the Paper Smooches set Geobasics, I bought that a while ago - gotta have everything geometric out there....Cut it out, too and added an enamel dot. The background I made with the Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate and sponged it with distress inks, to more capture the inspiration picture.  Lastly I mounted the daisy and the crab with foam tape, to give it some dimension.  I really like it - its so easy to make fun cards with those fabulous stamps!

Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #110

Hi ,  its challenge time at  Addicted to Stamps and More ! This fortnight we have a gorgeous inspiration picture for you: I used my favorite Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate, which I inked up with grey Memento Luxe ink and ran it through my Big Shot using light grey card stock. The beautiful daffodil stamp is by STAMPlorations -  Boxed Blooms and Bold Sentiments. I heat embossed it in silver and colored it with Copics. The sentiment is from the same set. Some how this card turned into a Sympathy card - did not really plan to make one, but the end results fits that best. I hope I won't need it soon...... We have a generous sponsor this week - its The winner will receive 3 free digis of her choice! So come on over to the  ATSM challenge blog  and get some  inspiration from our wonderfully creative DT   and we hope you find time to join in the fun!

Merry Monday #116

I guess its time to make more Christmas cards! I basically could not resist playing in the Merry Monday challenge - such a great inspiration picture this time! Who would have thought green wood looks so good? Although I still think there is something missing here - perhaps I should have grunged up the wood a bit? What do you think? But regardless it too late for that now....I am just not good with grunge....      I am also linking this card with my favorite challenge - the Snippets Playground - the stars and the white bottom panel are snippets and with Simply Create Too - Christmas in July - I am on the DT there - you have another week to link up your creations - see you there, perhaps? Also linking with  Virgina's view  - die cuts Materials: Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate, Memory Box die: Modern Landscape, Mama Elephant - Merry Greetings, Simon Says star dies, copper brads - see those door knobs in the picture? Make it Monday #147

I dabbled around to come up with something for this weeks Make it Monday . Betsy  Feldman inspires us to create multi-layer images form a single stamp. I struggled a bit with the subject, since I don't have any PTI stamps that lend themselves easily to this technique. Again, I had to improvise - as I often do for Make it Monday. I pulled out the little flower stamp set from the signature series  - one of those sets I have in my stash now for who-knows-how-long and never used....Not sure why, its so pretty! I inked up the flower with my Kaleidocolor inkpad, stamped it 3 times and fuzzy cut it. I embossed a strip with the PTI Woodgrain embossing plate, colored the edge with Copics, to give it more definition and mounted the flowers with different  height foam tape. The sentiment isfrom the same stamp set. Added some Memory Box pearls. I am also adding this card to Keep it Simple - Anything goes Snippets Playgroun d - used Snippets for the flowers an...

A FUN Day and some cards, of course!

I was recently at the birthday bash for Mama Elephant and there I met Cammy from Pink Room Therapy , my new stamping friend. She invited me along with her friends Michele from the Enchanted Stamper  and Claudia (so blog) to a Christmas card making get-together. Everybody designed a card and brought materials for the others to make their own. We all have a similar style of card making, so that was easy. I designed my card the night before - had to work until 9 pm  - that did not leave me much time - CAS it had to be.  So here is a photo from the cards we made: From left to right you see Cammy's, Michele's, my card and Claudia's card.   Above is Cammy with her sweet daughter and below are Michele and Claudia proudly showing off their works And that is all of us with our cards! Here is a close-up  of the card I designed. Materials: Memory Box Pine Border Die, mounted on dimensional tape, sentiment - Mama Elep...

10 minute craft dash combined with CAS(E) this sketch

Again I combined two challenges - the 10 minute craft dash and CAS(E) this sketch : Here are the a"requirements":                 And here is my card: I used a punch for the circle, the bird is from Memory Box - perched Reed Bird,. I embossed the blue paper with the Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. The sentiment is an ancient Heidi Grace stamp. Little enamel dots for the eyes..... Thankfully we don't have to add up the time it takes to think about what we do, to get all the supplies and to clean up afterwards.... just making the card took 9 minutes and 13 seconds. I wish you all a beautiful and relaxing weekend. Not sure how much relaxing I'll get to do... we have our local library sale, which I love to go to, the Hero Arts scramble is on flickr today and my in-laws are coming over  tomorrow - that means cooking and cleaning.....

Tuesday Trigger

Isn't that delicious? This is the Tuesday Trigger inspiration from Moxie Fab. I kept my card close to the inspiration photo.  The background is made with the Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. For the squares I used the Papertrey Take Tree die and the flowers are made with Martha Stewart punches. The sentiment is Papertrey Happy Trails. I used a smidgen of chalk to give the flowers some depth.
