LOVE for several challenges and Welcome to 3 new Members

How exciting - I can welcome 3 new members to my blog! I am happy to see you here. Let me greet you properly Mrs. Duck  - otherwise known as Ang Kathy K Yvonne  with a welcome picture: It is a sculpture by Philip Haas  - quite cool and recently exhibited in the Bronx Botanic Garden. This one is titeled "Winter" - I thought its appropriate for the season.... The artist basically turned an oil painting into a sculpture - I guess one can call it CASEing - below is the original painting by Arcimboldo I hope you like your pictures and perhaps more important - you continue to enjoy what I do here ;) ..... Like this card I made for several challenges: The tree die is by Memory Box - Twiggy Tree. I idi not die cut through the end of the stem and then made it longer with a craft knife. I sponged the tree. - Note that some af the branches go OVER THE EDGE.... The letters are by Papertrey - Block alphabet die. The little birds are fr...

Two Peace cards

So cute, this inspiration picture from Festive Friday ! I knew exactly what to make for it - something that happens rarely when I start out making a card...But in the end I liked the byproduct more than what I envisioned at first - also not unusual....So first the byproduct, which I like better:  I had s snippet of patterned paper left over from a previous card and I used it to die cut the letters. I used the negative die cut for this card. The holly is a punch from Martha Stewart and I used little red gems for sparkle. I also cut the card stock a ta on the side and put a green panel behind it for balance. This card I will also submit to the Pixie Crafty Snippets Playground challenge . The lovely Di offers it and its a fun challenge with the only rule to use a snippet (left over scraps in American English) - I like snippet better - sounds really cute! I am also linking those cards with: X-mas on Tuesday I am not sure about the rules - maybe non...

Inkspirational Challenge #34

I looked at this inspiration photo from Inkspirational several times - but tonight the inspiration struck!  And that's what happened: A modern twist on it........ I used to die cut circles and sponged around them. The "LOVE" letters are Papertrey and the bird is Memory Box. I used the same ink to color the bird - any one of my grey papers did not fit. I put a small enamel dot as eye and I used some sparklers from Stampendous for the little bling. Oh yeah, the red strips are just done with markers.  --X-- And now its late - I wish you all a good night and thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving all those beautiful comments - I LOVE them so much!

Catered Crop and Welcome to 10 new Members

Oh, my goodness - I have 10, yes TEN new members on my blog - well the secret is they are all part of the fantastic Simply Create Too design team. But new members are new members and need to be greeted accordingly! Nana Connie Esperite - Lynne Lisa Grace Gale Knight Jackie D Mian Jackie Marjo Gerda Diane   - the owner and team leader Her is my welcome picture to all of you: This artwork is by Walton Ford,   an American artist born  1960, who makes paintings and prints in the style of Audubon's naturalist illustrations. A couple of years ago the Brooklyn Museum had an exhibit about him and this was my favorite picture. I hope you like it as much as I do. --X-- Embossing is the challenge at Catered Crops - and what theme is better than Mothers Day right now? I used a Sizzix embossing folder, sponged it with yellow ink, added some orange and went over the raised stripes with an orange Gelato stick. The die cut ...

Cards and Bread

At the last stamp convention I attended I bought a lot of Washi tape and ever since it has been sitting around in one of my drawers. I never really know what to do with it. So I finally pulled them out and used some, although I am not really happy with the result. I guess I need to play around some more. I put Stickles on to hide the seams. The sentiment is Hero arts (Joy Borders). The die is from Prickley Pear. This great card below is from my son. His best friend is turning 12 and he is invited to his party today. So we made a quick card this morning. He selected the colors and layout and I helped him putting it together. Generally he loves my Big Shot, so he usually chooses an embossing folder. This one is from Cuttlebug. We smeared it with white ink. The numbers and letters are from Papertrey (Block alphabet dies and By the Numbers dies) And lastly here is a picture from the bread I backed.  I just took it out of the oven and t...
