Friends Furrever

Hi Everyone, I am playing in the Paper Smooches Picture Perfect challenge for this week - love that inspiration photo with those little birds. So I rummaged through my Paper Smooches sets and found the set calle WHimsical to be perfect for the challenge. Added the funky cat from Feline Friends and colored the birds with pencils. Since I managed to smudge the card it needed splatters to hide the smudges...... And then I decided to add those silly googly eyes to my little feline friend...... Waterdrops with Tutorial

Hi Everyone, my blogging friend Coni from Which Craft? recently asked me how I do those water droplets by Ryn and asked me for a tutorial. So Coni, this is for you: I made the background with Brushos - it was an experiment - I do think distress inks would be the best, but I was too lazy for sponging..... You have to use watercolor paper. Stamped the droplets with Memento Tuxedo black ink. That hold up better to water than Versafine, which I generally use I then take a brush, brush the drop with water and immediately lift off color from the wet drop with a tissue.  As I said - distress inks work better than Brushos.....but I still think you can see a sublte difference when you compare the first picture with this one: The real effect you achieve with adding white highlights - my favorite pen is a white Sharpie The whole process takes some time, but it is worth it! Guest Designing at Retro Rubber #10

Hi Everyone, I got invited to join in the fun for the next two weeks at Retro Rubber ! This is a fun challenge - you have to use your older stamps! What a great excuse to pull them out again and have them smell some ink! This week's challenge is real easy - its heat embossing! I pulled out this Hero Arts triangle background stamp, inked it up with Versamark and sprinkled WOW gold embossing powder in the center. For the outer part I used white embossing powder. That WOW embossing powder is amazing. Its very detailed and has a wonderful gold tone. I sloshed watercolor around ti and let it dry. Heat embossed that fun STAMPLorations HAPPY stamp from the  set  SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Happy  on vellum and attached it. The 50 is by Papertrey and the sequins are MFT.  I also wrapped some thin gold thread around the vellum. The numbers are mounted with foam  tape, as is the large sequin. I made that card for an "old" friend of mine - its going to Germany!...

I got inspired by Laura Bassen - who does not get inspired by her??? And made this card: I finally used my Mama Elephant set Trifecta, that I had forever in my stash. I adore it! Why I did not use it so far???NO idea.... Heat embossed the triangles in clear and sloshed watercolor on it. Let it dry and added the sentiment by Simon Says stamps Added some white accents with a white Sharpie. Guest Designing at Little Tangles!

Hi Everyone, I am so excited! I am guest designing for Neat&Tangled ! I was soooo excited when Heather asked me to join this amazing DT for March. Neat &Tangled is one of my favorite stamp companies - love their design and modern vibe! This month challenge is my favorite - Anything Goes ! Of course I could not make up my mind what card to create - I actually made three, but I'll only show you two today, keeping the third for a different occasion...... With this card I used that cool little set Punchinella , inked it up with Versamark and heat embossed it in silver. Added Washi tape and home made enamel dots. The sentiment is from the set Across the Card  - another one of my favorites. Popped it up with foam tape and added silver thread behind it. Here is a slightly different view - so hard to get the silver adequately photographed.... And now my second card: Really simple - used that big sentiment My Favorite , also inked it up with Versamark ...
