Hi Everyone, I don't know about you, but I am deeply disturbed about the events of the last several month. Starting with COVID19, that devastated the lives of so many people and disproportionately the lives of minorities, black and brown. It also disproportionately affected and affects the poor, since we are far from having overcome this disease. On top of that we experience senseless violence and police brutality against the black community. I feel drained and at the same time glued to the news. This country has been going the wrong way the last few years, sewing hate, dividing people, increasing income inequality and encouraging blatant racism. This needs to end. Change can't come soon enough!  So out of my despair I created this card with iStencils ( stripes , Statue of Liberty ) and stamps by Ryn Tanaka (tear drops). Alphabet dies by Papertry. I think it needs no other explanation. I hope for this country to heal and get better. I hope for justice. If...

Hi Everyone, Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 2rd Sunday of the month and this is our thirty seventh transatlantic get-together! This time it was my turn to pick the requirements: get inspired by the last book you read You guessed it right - it was about Octopuses. Highly intelligent and fascinating creatures. I learned so much about them! I really enjoyed reading this book! Well written and informative. If you are interested you can get it  HERE . And no I have no affiliations to the author. I used a Fred Mullett stamp , stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it with different colors of embossing powder. Hi Everyone, Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 2nd Sunday of the month and this is our ninth transatlantic get-together! This time it was Tanja's turn to pick the requirements: April showers bring May Flowers Whenever I hear the word rain I think of Ryn's gorgeous water drops . Time to pull them out, I thought. Combined them with this beautiful iStencil  (see below). Used Catherine Pooler inks for the stencil and Inktense for the drops. I also did some masking and light sponging. The happy die cut is from Cutplorations, the rest is Your Next Stamp. I made this card with a friend of mine in mind, who got a recent presumptive diagnosis of lung cancer, but the biopsy showed only inflammation. Those drops are symbolizing tears of joy! Hi Everyone, here come my last minute projects for the Twofer Card Challenge #2 . The theme is heart. Not so easy.....  First I couldn't think of what heart to use and then once I decided to make my own heart stamp from a die and fun foam what to do with it.... Well, you see what I came up with: Card #1 is done with generational stamping. I used my new Catherine Pooler inks for this and they are fabulous. The big sentiment is by Neat&Tangled.Mounted it onto a black card base. Card #2 uses the same heart, but sideways. I turned it into fish - doodles some fins and added googly eyes. The awesome bubbles are by Ryn Tanaka. It's about time to use them again....The die cut at the bottom is from Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Your Next Stamp. Hi Everyone, this is again one of my last minute entries - my specialty ;), in case you don't know that.... I have to play with the current Mod Squad challenge - the theme is water. The main reason however is not the theme I admit, but the challenge sponsor - THE Ryn Tanaka from Designs by Ryn . I had been thinking about her stamps needing some ink and now I have a perfect excuse to pull them out..... Made a water color background. Die cut a circle from it. Stamped the bubbles, die cut the Koi (Memory Box) and did my little color lifting trick to make the bubbles more 3D-ish. Die cut the fish again from some leftover piece of water colored card stock and glued them in, just a bit off-set to give it more interest. Added the sentiment, which is by Clearly Besotted stamps.  My long time blog follower probably know that I am a big fan of Ryn's, but then - who isn't? Her water droplet stamps are just fabulous and an all time favorite of mine! ...

Hi Everyone,   Thought I pull something else out of my draft folder.....   I showed two of my four little canvasses previously. You can see them HERE and HERE . And now number three:   First I gessoed, then I stamped the bird, masked it and spritzed with Dylusion spray. Colored the bird with Copics, stamped the  bubbles  and treated them with some white highlights. Lastly I added water drops to give the background more interest.   This actually was my personal favorite. Hi Everyone, my blogging friend Coni from Which Craft? recently asked me how I do those water droplets by Ryn and asked me for a tutorial. So Coni, this is for you: I made the background with Brushos - it was an experiment - I do think distress inks would be the best, but I was too lazy for sponging..... You have to use watercolor paper. Stamped the droplets with Memento Tuxedo black ink. That hold up better to water than Versafine, which I generally use I then take a brush, brush the drop with water and immediately lift off color from the wet drop with a tissue.  As I said - distress inks work better than Brushos.....but I still think you can see a sublte difference when you compare the first picture with this one: The real effect you achieve with adding white highlights - my favorite pen is a white Sharpie The whole process takes some time, but it is worth it! Hi, guess what - my Crazy Bird obsession continues....I did not tell you I actually made 4 of those things...so here is number 2: What shall we call her - Miss Timid? She is standing in the rain - thanks to Ryn Tanaka, who is the creator of those fabulous water bubbles Same as the last one....First I gessoed, then I stamped the bird, masked it and spritzed with Dylusion spray. So this one likes the rain I think....The whole thing has a summer color scheme and that why I'll be linking this up with a couple of summer challenges, see below.
