52 CCT#20

Hi everybody, I am back with another Christmas card. This one is for the 52CCT challenge - the theme is "Holly".  I am also putting this card into the Moxie Fab Holiday card challenge  and the  Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge I used a Martha Stewart Holly punch for this card. The diecut and sentiment is from Prickley Pear. And I wrapped a sheer piece of fabric around red cardstock, which has snowflakes imprinted in silver on it. Its really pretty and I like how festive it looks on this card. I also used a glitzy snowflake on top of the ornament and adhered it with a brad. This card is pretty simple to make - perhaps I'll make more of the same , although I much rather come up with something new.....

Jingle Belles combined with 52CCT #18

This is the week of combined challenges.... 52 CCT  has shades of green as a theme and the Jingle Belles challenge is a sketch - see below.   I made my onw banner paper - using Versamark and clear embossed it. The Christmas bauble is from Prickly Pear - which comes with a matching die. I popped it up with foam dots and "hung" it from a silver thread. The dark green almost looks black in the photo - but its green - I swear! And since its a Christmas card I used some Stickles on the ornament. And since it fits the challenge I am also linking this up with the Sparkles Monthly challenge - monochromatic

Money holders

My nephews are both teenagers and its is quite difficult to get them something they like. So I have reverted to giving money instead. This year I made them this money holder: So, first you need to slide over the red band  - and you see Merry Christmas  (from Papertrey - Mixed Messages) under a red, clear embossed bow from Prickly Pear) Then you pull out the ribbon labeled "2" - playing a little word game here with Ulysses S. Grant, who adorns the $50 bill. Once you pull ribbon labeled "3", you actually get the money. Here is a close-up. The scalloped oval is from Spellbinders, the grey oval a punch and the felt tree I picked up some years ago in Germany. The envelope is made out of patterned paper. I linked this up with the Anything goes challenge from Simon Says stamps .
