Amazing Birthday

Hi Everyone, I actually made this card for last weeks Less is More challenge (it was dimension) - just to find out Mr. Linky was expired.....but to my great delight Less is More for this week has OMBRE as its theme - how perfect is that?! Believe it or not, but this card is perfectly flat - I just exaggerated the 3-D effect with my colors. I first stenciled on white paper and added clear embossing paste. After the paste was dry I sponged with different (mainly darker) colors over the white grid lines. The embossing paste resists the additional sponged colors. If you want to make something like it - go to iStencil and check out their amazing selection of stencils. The one I used, you can find HERE  or HERE The die is by STAMPlorations and the little birthday stamp is by Papertrey Linking up with: Craft Stamper TIMI - anything goes Seize the Birthday  - anything birthday Happy Little Stampers CAS - stencil The Male Room - anything goes ...

7 Days 7 Sketches - Day 5 and 6

Looks like I might make it through all 7 days at Mel's 7 Days 7 Sketches...... This is my card for day 5 : Cut the big circle with a Lifestyle Crafts die and used a square die to cut the square. Watercolored them and taped them in. Stamped the butterflies from Stamplorations - Artful Flutters, added white accents and stamped the sentiment (ancient Memory Box set- In the Garden - CL106) around the circle Here is another view: Linking up with: Handmade Bliss - see colors below Addicted to CAS - butterfly Memory Box - butterflies Now onto day 6 : I die cut myself some stamps from fun foam, using those Lifestyle Crafts nesting dies. 7 Days 7 sketches - Day 4

Hi everyone, a quick card - I am still totally exhausted from yesterday....but I had to make that card, after all I really want to do all those 7 sketches for 7 Days 7 sketches .... This one is a busy one - one of those layouts, but I make cards...... As you can see I did not really change much. But I am really happy with the result and it went really fast. Used my MME paper pad - they had those at Michaels for 50% off.....Had to buy one (ehm two...) Got the colors from Just Add Ink and stayed with that modern vibe. The die cut and stamp are by Papertrey - Wet Paint and as luck will have it I cut the striped paper just as wide as the sentiment...didn't know I would use it when I cut the paper. Also linking up with: Seize the Birthday - no topping for me Just Add Ink  - see picture Snippets Playground  - use a snippet (aqua paint chip and gold die cuts) Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge  - use PP       ...

Muse #111

Hi Everyone, I took a little blogging break - too many other things to do, but now I am back. I wanted to play in this weeks  Muse challenge , where the creative Kristie Goulet from Kreative Kristie  (so true, her blog title) made this interesting card - you'll see it below. Here is my take on it: I took watercolor paper and water colored the red and blue strip. Added the butterfly (Memory Box) and the love sentiment (Papertrey Wet Paint) Her you see Kristies beautiful card: And another view of my interpretation: Happy stamping!

iStencil

Hi Everyone,  I have some exciting news!!!! I now work with iStencils to design cards for them! I was over the moon, when they asked me to do that!!!  I absolutely love stencils and their stencils particularly appeal to me. I have that soft spot for graphic design and there is an abundance of graphic stencils at their site.  You may have seen my last card I made with an iStencil, if not you can see it HERE . This is a different one that I got on my shopping spree with them...... I finally got over my embossing paste fear and mixed myself some color. I did not completely mix the colors together, I liked the different shades I got. I used that gorgeous iStencil and overlaid it with a heart mask, that I cut out of a large post it note. Smeared the paste over it and let it dry. http://www.istencils.com/store/products/27-00002-r-sc Splattered some metallic blue spray ink. Let it dry..... I then added the LOVE die cut, heat embossed the Y...

Faux paper cutting

Hi Everyone, today I want to share a card with the faux paper cutting technique I learned on the CAS #4 class. The fabulous  Debby Hughes  showed us the how to.... I used all sorts of dies for this - mainly by Memory Box. The pink LOVE is by Papertrey - Wet Paint. Its a labor of love to make this, but the result is worth it, right? Looks so elegant! And because I love it so much, you get another view of it: Playing in: Less is More  - Pink and Grey - 4 year birthday celebration Friday Mashup  - going with the  Love theme Just us girls - Love Snippets Playground - lots of snippets here...
