Wishing You Brighter Days

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with this weeks CAS Colours and Sketches challenge - I have the graphic below.  A real fun sketch - different, that's what I like about it! The colors I got from the current Color Throwdown , also see below. I first thought about going quite literal with it, but then I decided against that. Used a curved die from SSS to cut my top panel and used my NBUS Uniko stamps to fill in the bottom panel. The sentiment is also by Uniko. The butterfly is a punch by Martha Stewart. Added tiny sequins and some Stickles. Also linking up with: Retro Rubber - flowers (not sure when those stamps came out - not recently, but the punch I used is OLD - years old...) Happy Stamping!

Two Birthday Cards

Hi Everyone, I made two cards today - both for kids I know. The first one is going to a little boy - I hope he likes chameleons! I for sure do! I got those stamps on my recent trip to the Allentown stamp show and was itching to try them out . They are by Local King Rubber stamps . Aren't they amazing? The sentiment is by Simon Says. The chameleon on the right comes with a matching die, the other one I fuzzy cut. I mounted both with foam tape.  I am linking up this card with: Sparkle and Shine  - see inspiration photo below. Send a Smile 4 Kids - animals My second card I made with the  Shopping our Stash  challenge - You stamped with what? Such a fun theme - had to play!!! Well  I think its pretty obvious with what I stamped - my fingers. And then added some doodles. The colors I got from the current  Color Throwdown  challenge - see picture below. And then I thought I might be able to get this into  Les...

TAWS challenge and Hello to my New members!

I can welcome two new members to my blog -  Sid from Harpies Crafty Corner and Pauline from Crafting with Cotnob both are from Great Britain and are experienced an well versed card makers - I am so happy you joined! I also want to thank my new members  - the ones without a picture that end up at the end of the member list - I have not been keeping track of you - so sorry and I also have by now a few email subscribers - again I am not keeping track - but nonetheless I value that you joined my blog and stayed with me! And for all of you I have a welcome picture:  I took this photo on one of my last trips into New York City - it is taken from the Highline - that former elevated subway line transformed into a park. The mural depicts a soldier kissing a nurse and is painted by  Eduardo Kobra . The original is a statue by Seward Johnson .  As you easily can imagine it appeals to me on many levels - but foremost the fabulous use of color! I ...

You Mean the World to Me

I made this card for the current CAS Colours and Sketches challenge and wanted to combine it with the MFT sketch challenge, but I did not manage to finish it in time for the latter. Oh well..... I used my brand new MFT die for this - the sentiment is part of it, but I only cut the world and used the  rest as a stencil. All the die cuts are snippets- therefor I am also linking this up with the Snippets Playground.  Thanks for visiting. Sorry for the ultra short post, one of those days I'll have more time again.....

Another Baby Card

I liked my recent baby card so much - I had to make another one..... I used the colors and sketch from the current CAS-Colours and Sketches challenge , see below. The baby elephant is more minty in real life - looks more blue in the picture.... I wanted to make a color neutral card, as the gender of the baby is not known yet..... I again pulled out my Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums - its my go-to set when it comes to baby cards...... and stamped it on patterned paper. The cork is from Home Depot, I think its a shelf liner or something like that and has a sticky back - how convenient.... Stamped the sentiment - it's from the same set. The toe nails and tusk I accented with liquid enamel.  I am also adding this card to the  Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge  - Anything goes and Less is More - use more than one stamp (I used 3) And Dream Valley  has Baby as a theme - I am on the DT - perhaps you wan to play as well! Thanks for vis...

Dream Valley Challenge #81 "Anything Goes"

Hi Everybody,  its another challenge at  Dream Valley  and the challenge is "Anything Goes"! Are you up for this? I procrastinated forever to make a card  - until finally tonight I looked at THIS tutorial from Splitcoaststampers and knew what I should make. I made something similar in the past (you can check it out HERE  and HERE ) - Papertrey had a video by the oh so talented  Betsy Veldman about this 3-D technique. Supplies: Papertrey Birthday Die, Mama Elephant dies, sentiment: Paper Smooches Now  head over to the blog  and let our wonderful DT can inspire you! I took the colors from this weeks CAS Colours and Sketche s challenge, although my turquoise looks much more blue in the photo than it is in real life.... I am also linking this with Simon Says - Anything Goes

Trendy Feathers

I discovered a new challenge blog called  Steckenpferdchen . The challenge for this month is "Feathers" - Federn. Its a German blog, yeahh! (Dann sollte ich vielleicht auf Deutsch weiterschreiben.....) Since I have this beautiful feather set from Stamplorations, called Trendy Feathers I had to play in this challenge.... All stamp are form this set. The color block I made with a stencil I cut with my rectangular My Favorite Things Dienamics dies and sponged. The little "buttons" are Paper Pandy - colored with Copics - much cheaper than enamel dots and easier to ship..... I combined this with the sketch from   CAS Colours and Sketches  and the colors from Annabelle stamps - I have not played in that challenge in ages.....and since I made myself a stencil for this card, I also will link it with the  Moxie Fab STENCIL challenge  and   Less is more   - Rules of Three recipe - used 3 colors and 3 feathers!       ...

CAS Colours and Sketches #64

CAS Colours and Sketches  has purple and yellow as color combo this week - its quite pretty, so I made a card for this challenge, using my new  Stamplorations - MOM stamps . I combined two of them, it just fits an A2 card that way.  I really like all the different fonts on those stamps. I first masked the center strip and then sponged in yellow and two different shades of purple, before I stamped the Mom stamps with Versafine ink. The little flowers are form the  Stamplorations set  Eclectic Florals . I    fuzzy cut them and  added Stickles in the center. By the way, r ight now you can get all MOM sets in the prerelease sale for 30% off! I am also playing with this card in the  Snippets Playground   - made the flowers with snipptes

Less is More #154 and Welcome to two New Members

I am happy to tell you that my blog has grown again and two new members have found their way over to my blog! I want to send a warm welcome to  Sandra and  Debra Both are accomplished stampers and their blog are fun to visit - lots of inspiration to be found - hop on over, if you have time. Thanks Ladies for joining my blog. And as always, I picked a welcome picture for you: This masterpiece can be right now found at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and is knitted by  Tatyana Yanishevsky . I took the picture from the internet (usually I take my own), but the way it was hung there made it impossible to take decent pictures..... It quite amazing and was definitely worth while the trip. I hope you like it. I certainly do. So intricate, this Tigerlily, quite amazing! But now, back to card making... I made this for the Less is More challenge  - its one layer hearts this week.  The little hearts are stamps by Judith, the bea...

CAS Colours and Sketches #51

I have literally no time right now, but I just found out that I was one of the top three at the last CAS Colours and Sketches challenge and I had to play - a quick card it was.... I modified the sketch a bit, but not much. The stamps I used are from a Fiskars set called Winter Wonderland. The sentiment is Mama Elephant Merry Greetings. Used some twine. The frame around the periphery I drew with a Copic marker. Since I used a snippet this card will also go into the  Snippets Playground ! I will also enter this into the CHNC challenge extra for November Tomorrow I'll have hopefully a bit more time - I have new members to say hello to - I have not forgotten you....so happy you joined, but you will get an "official" greeting, I promise!

CAS Colours and Sketches #50

The   CAS Colours and Sketches  challenge is almost over and I need to get this card in before it is too late... I used an off white card stock - that does not really show here... The stamp is Studio G. I clear embosssed it and then sponged around, masking only the bottom and left side. The sentiment is by PTI. I mounted it onto suede colored card stock, added tiny Memory Box pearls and some Stickles. You can see the Stickles better on the close-up: It came out nice. It has such a light feel to it and I like the subtle glitter! I wish you all a great day - hope you liked what you saw and come back soon again!
