Katzelkraft Twofer

Hi Everyone, It's time to play along with the Twofer challenge ! I did not want to wait until the last minute again... As you see, the requirement is pets. Birds can be pets - I had lots of them at some point in my life. Thankfully no more.... The Katzelkraft set is used is called Les Piafs .  So I settled on making a Fathers Day card - its coming up, as you know. And this bird looks quite dapper with his hat and tie (from  Impression Obsession). I colored him with Inktense pencils, The branch is by Memory Box and the sentiment is Studio 112. The second card I stamped and masked and colored with Inktense pencils. The sentiment is by STAMPlorations -pulled out my sewing machine for it. As you can see I also drew some inspiration from Kara  - her DT cards are just amazing! If you feel the urge to buy any Katzelkraft products, you can also order them in the US from those companies:  Topflight Stamps ,  Frantic Stampe...

CASE this Sketch

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with CASE this Sketch this week. I pulled out my little used MFT dies and cut them with silver metallic paper. Stringed up the tools on a red string and used wood paper as background, cut with a Simon Says stitched die. In addition I dry embossed the white card stock with my Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. the sentiment is Studio 112 stamps, heat embossed in white.  Uniko Challenge  - masculine/Fathers Day The Paper Players  - Fathers Day Linking up with:

World's Best Dad

Hi Everyone, I am playing with this weeks Color Throwdown challenge . At first I did not find those colors very appealing, but then I saw the cards their awesome DT created and I changed my mind! Made another Father's Day card with my new Katzelkraft stamps. Background smooshing, some wood DP at the bottom and the dog is colored with Copics and fuzzy cut. The sentiment is a Studio 112 stamp. Hats and Mustache

Hi Everyone, back to my usual CAS style - taking a little break from those crazy birds....as I said - I need a few more Father's Day cards.... I am playing with Mel's   which is pure fun - every day a different sketch for 7 days. I am trying to make all 7 days....kept it simple with Washi tape and a variety of hats from Studio 112. The sentiment is from Studio G.  so both real cheapo stamps, but fun! Pinspired #6 and CAS on Sunday

Here is a challenge for me:  Pinspired #6                                                          The last time I used nail polish was in my  teenage years and that was several lifetimes ago.....But I do like some glitter on my cards, sometimes.... So here is my take on it: I cut up strips of white cardboard, smeared them with inks in different colors and covered them with UTEE several times - always melting the stuff in between to get a thick layer on it. Once that was achieved, I dusted gold glitter on top and it stuck, because the Utee was still hot....I inked up the Hero Arts Zig Zag Background Cling with Versamark and stamped the card. The sentiment is a Studio 112 stamp (on foam dots) and the gold glitter strip I made with double sticky tape. This all sounds somewhat complicated, but it really wasn't. ...

Happy Easter and Washi Birthday

I wish all my dear followers and visitors   Happy Easter! Thank you for all your kind comments and for your frequent visits - they are very much appreciated! Cath Edvalson at Moxie Fab has all those cool challenges going on - I am sure you know about them. One is about Washi Tape. I do own some...., but I rarely use it. I really don't know what to do with it. I like Jennifer McGuires suggestion - she uses it instead of repositional tape and it really is fabulous for that. But regardless,  I decided to try to use it for what is is designed..... and made a card for my nephew's birthday: I taped the Washi tape onto card stock and then ran it through my Big Shot in a Sizzix embossing folder - works beautifully, I think. I totally blends with the paper. You can't even tell its separate. The arrows are die cuts from QuicKutz and the sentiment is Studio 112.
