Dynamic Duos and LIM

I got my mail today and boy there were a lot of surprises in there - about some I'll tell you later, since I don't have a lot of time right now, but I also got some more stamping supplies - yeahhh - as if I would need more ...... I had to try some of them right away - using my new STAMPlorations set  SUBWAY ART BUILDERS: Create (this is a sneak preview of part of the set - the set will be released in Ma y)  and the  VIGNETTE: Artful Flutters The circle lines I created with a brand new stencil from Memory Box - Radio Waves - I sponged that - it was a bit tricky, because the stencil is so delicate.... The butterflies I made with a scrap piece of acetate - a leftover form some packaging, which I colored with alcohol inks and stamped the butterflies with Staz On ink. All the ink is on the backside of the butterflies to protect the colors. I added some Stickles to the bodies of the butterflies - love the sparkle... the curvy line is from Papertrey Happ...

Make it Monday #157 and a few Challenges

This weeks Make it Monday  is the brainchild of the super talented Betsy Veldman  who inspires us to make our own cover plates. This is really easy, if you have an unlimited supply of Papertrey products. However, if you don't it becomes quite tricky. I thought it would be easy, but no its not - at least not for me.....The problem with the older Papertrey dies is, that you can't break them apart - like the matching dies for my all time favorite set Happy Trails, which I first thought I'm going to use. So rummaging through my PTI box I found that the only dies I have are from the set Beautiful Blooms and that was that.... And here is the card: Its a little tricky to do, since the dies are only minimally larger than the stamps - so you can't really stamp into the opening as Betsy showed us in her video. I laid the card stock with the negative die cuts onto the card and traced around with a pencil. I removed the negative die cut and stamped into the traced out...

Dynamic Duos #93

Last month TAWS had this cute little set called "face it"as a free give-away when you spent $40....Not a difficult thing to do and I had to have this set....I used it to make this card with the Dynamic Duos colors from this week's challenge: I made the circles with a die from Lifestyle Crafts and added some "hair" to those funny faces. Used chalks to make the cheeks.  I am also playing with this card in the  Snippets Playground  (the pink background strip and the hair are made from snippets)

Dynamic Duos and Paper Players

Ahhh, another combination challenge - its Black and yellow at Dynamic Duos and CAS with Stars at The Paper Players . I needed a card for my daughters birthday and thought stars is just the right thing for her.  I used a stencil that I bought a gazillion years ago and was still unused..... the company is called Coffee break design - not sure if they still exist..... The stars are by Mama Elephant Party Kit, I used the matching die. The small stars are a Michaels punch and the sentiment is Hero Arts Essential Messages. I am also linking this up with Seize the Birthday   anything birthday -optional hearts --X-- Ready for more snow pictures? If not, then don't scroll down.... I went with my son to a little waterfall nearby - I just love how it looks in winter! Stay warm and have a great day!

Birthday Cards for Twins

I needed two birthday cards for twins, that are coming up soon. They are getting two years old and I wanted to make something fun for them. Interactive cards I think are great for that.  I kept them CAS. The die cut number is Papertrey By the Numbers. The peeking little fox/teddy is from Mama Elephant No Peeking and the sentiment is from Hero Arts Big Candles. And some Washi tape. I punched a brad on top and strung some twine through on which I hung the number. It swings around as you can see below.  I am linking the card above with Dynamic Duos - Real Red and Island Indigo I am linking both cards with Seize the Birthday - Birthday - optional chevron CASual Fridays - over the edge - the numbers are swinging over the edge... and the Snippets Playground   - the numbers are made from snippets Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - anything goes with twine or string

Back Home and a Card

My time in Chicago went by very quickly - too quickly..... Every year I wish I could spend more time in this wonderful city. But its nice being back home too. So I had some time today and made a card for Dynamic Duos  and combined it with CAS-ual Fridays : All the die cuts, except the stars (Simon Says) are from Memory Box and the sentiment is by Mama Elephant - Merry Greetings. I hung the ornaments with silver thread - which required some fiddling around....and lastly I elevated the ornaments with foam dots.  And of course this card is largely made with snippets - it going into the  Snippets Playground ! --X-- I want to share some pics from Chicago with you: The modern Santa..... The stairway in the Contemporary Art Museum. The "Bean" by Anish Kapoor - one of my favorites... A view onto the side gallery of the Art Institute - looks almost like a picture, don't you think? And lastly the lions in fr...

Make it Monday #139 and Dynamic Duos #77

Stamped Square Frames - that is the theme at this week's  Make it Monday . The talented Dawn  shows in a video how to do that. Its easy and quick and the result is  fabulous  - I think!  I don't really have a border stamp from PTI, so I improvised - part of the fun! I took the sentiment from the Papertrey set Cutting Garden and used it as a frame. The dies are also Papertrey  - Beautiful Blooms. The one with the ink on it was a leftover from some project I can't even remember. (You know what that means.......) - it goes into the Snippets Playground ! I added a silver paper candy in the center, which I colored with Copic. That works just fine and you don't need to buy them in all different colors. I mounted the white cardstock on a red card.  I chose the colors to fit this weeks  Dynamic Duos Challenge and I am also linking this up with Seize the Birthday  - anything goes Thank you for visiting my...

Dynamic Duos #75

Not much time tonight, but I did manage to make this card for the Dynamic Duos challenge - can't resist a Halloween theme... I heat embossed the Stampin' up pumpkins from the set Carved and Candlelit with orange embossing powder. The dripping Halloween stamp is from Michaels - also heat embossed. The ghost eyes in the back are from some unknown stamp company and the rest are punches by Martha Stewart I put some accents with my favorite white pen - its a Sharpie. Its works really well - its the best out there in my opinion. So, what do you think - are you scared ? - I sure hope so. Nonetheless I wish you good dreams, no ghostly nightmares.... ;) And of course I am linking up with my favorite challenge - the  Snippets Playground - all the white paper is snippets!

Make it Monday #135 and Dynamic Duos #73

Emboss resist is this week's theme at Make it Monday . The talented Heather Nichols has a great video on the blog - check it out. it is really simple to do and I love the effect! I used one of my favorite Papertrey sets for this - its called Dot Spot. The sentiment is from the set - Wonderful Words Hello This was so quick and easy! I used some Stickles on the center dots - here is a close-up: I am also linking this with Dynamic Duos Again - thanks for stepping by - have a great night and thank you so much for all your lovely comments!

Make it Mondays #134: Repeat + Lift combined with Dynamic Duos

This weeks Make it Mondays is much easier than last weeks..... and it comes out really cool!  And the best thing - its quick and easy! I used two different pinks - a light one and a darker one, although it does not show as well in this photo, oh well... I used the Papertrey Wonderful Words Hello set and for the sentiment and banners the Sketched Shapes set. As embellishment a shiny paper candy - one of my new aquisitions from theScrapbook Expo.... I am linking this card with the  Snippets Playground  - the square white paper is that thank you card that Papertrey puts in with your order - I NEVER throw anything out that could be potentially useful....the HELLO is from white scrap card stock as well..... I am also linking this card with Dynamic Duos

Make It Monday #131: Striped Embossing

Last weeks Make it Monday was not for me, but this one is! Its called "striped embossing"   and its a brain child of the brilliant   Betsy Veldman . Check it out - its really cool! You mask off part of the sentiment - or where ever you want your embossed stripes with post it notes, then sprinkle it with embossing powder, move the post it notes, repeat, until you have covered everything with embossing powder - heat it up and that is it. The only problem is that some of the embossing powder gets stuck where the sticky part of the post it note was....You kind of can see that. I did not like that part - I like my cards to be meticulous..... I am also linking this card up with Dynamic Duos  and Simons Says - Emboss it Materials: Papertrey Cutting Garden, Papertrey Think Big Favorites

A Holiday Card for 4 Challenges

Cuttlebug Mania's challenge is anything goes with embossing, whereas Jingle Bells has "tic tac toe " this week. I went with the top row - snowman, glitter and embossing.  The stamps are from Rubber soul. I fuzzy cut the snowman and propped up the different layers with foam tape to make it 3-D. The nose is paper-pieced. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. I smeard some Stickles on top of the snowflakes to add the glitter. Addicted to CAS has a Holiday theme and I am submitting this card to that challenge as well. And Dynamic Duos has black and light aqua with optional embossing - I hope they can forgive me the orange nose..... Simon Says has MONOCHROMATIC as a theme ans yes, there is that orange nose , but one of their DT members also featured snowmen with orange noses, so I guess I'll get by.... Are you ready for more Canada pictures? The first seven pics are taken along the Icefield Parkway. We did a short hike to...
