A Birthday Card for several Challenges

Hi Everyone, I made a birthday card, inspired by several challenges - they are all listed below. The colorful panel I made with watercolors and rubber cement, as the talented Lexi Daly show us in a wonderful video on this week Make it Monday over at Papertrey. I brushed on the rubber cement. the birthday is by Papertrey as well, heat embossed and fuzzy cut. The tiny hearts are a punch by Fiskars. the subtle stripes on the background are an embossing plate also by Papertrey . I love those colors - took them from the current Card Concept! Linking up with: CAS(E) this Sketch  - see below Card Concept  - see colors below Less is More  - add texture Papertrey - Make it Monday - Watercolor Resist Little Tangles - Watercolor Happy Stamping!

Make it Monday and another iStencil Card

Hi Everyone, I want to share a card with you I made for this week's  Make it Monday.  The theme is "A la carte", you can choose any of the 40 previous posts. Even if you don't want to play along you should just go and check it out for all the wonderful inspiration you fill find there. I settled for  Make It Monday #218: Watercolors with Die-Cut Stencils  by the talented Lexi Daly . You can watch the video - always good to get some tricks and tips. All my supplies are by Papertrey - the scribbles, the die and the sentiment. I added some sequins, matching the water color. I just love this - so simple and pretty! ------------ You may remember the card I made for this weeks Less is More challenge. I kept looking at it, with its drab colors and decided to change that. So I just die cut the thanks in orange and added the orange side strip and now I like it much better! again, the stencil is an iStencil , the thanks is by SSS ...

Two Birthday Cards

Hi Everyone, I am so happy making cards other than Christmas cards :)  And what better occasion than a 14 year old birthday celebration. Its for one of my friends son's in Germany. I love those Avery Elle balloon dies. I cut them in fun foam, so you have some dimension and no shipping problems. Added Washi tape as background. The fun sentiment is by My Favorite Things. Added some loose thread to the balloons.  Stamping Royalty  - Washi Tape Mod Squad challenge  - one die cut Stamp Ink Paper  - anything but Christmas Seize the Birthday - anything birthday SSS Wednesday  – Party (birthday party, of course!) And here is card #2: I made this for the current Make it Monday feature over at Papertrey. The theme is adding color to stamped images. I don't have Gamsol, as suggested by the talented and creative Laurie , but I have Inktense pencils and water. It works like a charm :) I used my brand new Woodl...

Happy Hanukkah !

Hi Everyone, I have not played with Make it Monday in ages - time to change that! The topic is splattering, one of my favorite things to do! If you are hesitant to do it - watch the wonderful video at the Make it Monday blog from Danielle Flanders she explains it expertly! I needed some Hanukkah cards so I pulled out the two little Papertrey sets I have and combined them. Its all heat embossed. Added the splatters and sponged some white ink around the candles and stars to give them some glow. I know, its a bit late for that, since its starts on Sunday, but since its going on for 8 nights my cards at least will get to their destination before its over...... I am linking up with: The Card Concept  - see below, going for CAS Muse: Christmas Visions - inspired by Chris Blagrave's  wonderful card

Make it Monday and Something Unexpected

Hi Everyone, just a quick post today - its late and I don't have much time....just wanted to share two cards with you - my first is for this weeks Make it Monday where the fabulous Laura Bassen tells us the secret of double partial die cutting. You gotta watch that video! Here is the card I made for it: All supplies are by Papertrey and I added some sequins. Here is  a different view - I mounted it with foam tape onto card stock.  My second card is for  A Blog named Hero  - something unexpected it the theme. If you know me even a little bit, you know that is just the right thing for me..... I used a leaf stamp from the set Lotus Leaves to make the bird, the green "branch" is from the same set and I added those tiny little black adornments with stamps from the Heartfelt Messages set. Both sets are by Hero Arts Added some splatters and smeared green ink for extra interest.   I am also linking up with Simon Says ...

Addicted to Stamps and More #134 and Spotlight Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  ATSM ! For the next two week its going to be CAS - just my thing! And hopefully yours, too! I made a birthday card, because for some reason I always need more and never seem to have enough.... I was inspired by this weeks Make it Monday , where the talented  Ashley Newell  shows us a video about  stamps and doodling. Since I  mainly own die cuts from Papertrey and not so many stamps that would fit this theme I made my own out of fun foam, using my latest Papertrey dies (just got the order a few days ago) and cut those in fun foam - it works so well - voila - you have our own stamps, spending only a fraction of the money! I doodled around the stamps as you can see. Gives you kind of a cool effect....a little more tremor and one would think I drank too much ;) Added tiny enamel dots - do you know about this month House of Cards challenge - its enamel dots - thought I'll let you know..... Our wonderful spons...

Make it Monday with Colour Q

Hi Everybody, just a quick post today..... I made a card for this weeks  Make it Monday over at Papertrey,  where talented  Laurie Willison shows us how to use Cover Plate dies to create stencils to be used with embossing paste. I used my favorite new embossing plate from Papertrey to make this card and the colors I took from this weeks Colour Q  challenge.  I made myself a stencil form the cover plate, smeared embossing paste over it and let it dry. I then inked it with distress inks. The die cut sentiment is Papertrey as well, the happy is by MFT as are the die cut sequins.  Hope you like it! I am also adding this card to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - add a little texture

Make It Monday #190 - Plaid Background

Make It Monday #190: Stamping a Plaid Background I happen to have this stripes set from Papertrey that  Ashley Cannon Newell  uses so expertly in her card. The video is really helpful, too. I have tried before to make a plaid background, but never liked the result of it. This time its different, thanks to Ashley!  I turned it into a Holiday card - what else, at this time of the year.... The die cuts are from Papertrey as well. I really love that silver glitter paper. I have been using it quite a bit, lately.  I almost forgot - the little "cheer" is by Paper Smooches. And added two sequins. I am also linking my card with Inkspirational Colour me....! - although my turquoise looks kind of blue here... By the way - there is still the Black Friday sale going on at  STAMPlorations : You may want to take advantage of it!

Make it Monday and Cure the Monday Blues

When I saw the inspiration picture at  Cure for the Monday Blues  and the theme at Make it Monday  I just knew I had to combine them! The fabulous  Danielle Flanders  made a wonderful video showing you how to to gold dipped die cuts. It super easy - all you need is Versamark ink and gold embossing powder. You ink up a part of your die cut with Versamark and then sprinkle embossing powder on  it and heat emboss it. Looks great! Here is a close up All my dies are Papertrey. I did some inlaid die cut technique for the Joy. The trees are mounted on foam tape. Added gold thread. And here is the wonderful inspiration picture: I am also linking this with the Snippets Playground - its all snippets - except the card base.... Have a great day!
