Two Birthday Cards

Hi Everyone, I bet once you see the inspiration picture from  Stampin' Royalty  you want to play along too! I heat embossed with WOW gold embossing powder on rainbow paper, using my old wood Hero Arts Starburst Lace stamp. Added some gold Washi tape on the side and the sentiment.  Here is that fantastic picture - I really liked the cake: Another view of my card: For my second card I got enticed by Inkspirational to play along in their current challenge - they have a fun inspiration picture - very appealing to me. I also knew right away what I would use to make my card and here it is: I envisioned it differently and I am not really happy with the outcome. It actually was more work than I thought and I don't like the look of it. I think it's mainly that I did not really have the correct matching paper. Oh well. It is what it is. Somebody will get this card, that's for sure. Maybe one of my son's friends.... My supplies ...

Muse Christmas Vision #46

Hi Everyone, this week we have Stephanie Klauck from Round Here as guest Designer at Muse Christmas Vision and her card got me really excited! It is an amazing CAS card - it has it all - perfect layout and interest! I almost pulled out one of my deer stamps, but then I thought I should try to be a bit more original... So I used this old wood stamp from Paper Source that had been collecting a lot of dust - only used once before..... I stamped it after I sponged the green rectangle - I made myself a mask with a rectangular die - much easier than trying to get a perfect rectangle with post-it notes. I filled in the berries with a white Sharpie. Here is Stephanie's amazing card : To get some red in I added the red bow. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. No is that card exciting you as much as me? I sure hope so! Linking up with: Jingle Belles - banish holiday blues Mod Squad - use it or loose it (ancient wood stamp) Happy Stamping!

Wishing You Brighter Days

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with this weeks CAS Colours and Sketches challenge - I have the graphic below.  A real fun sketch - different, that's what I like about it! The colors I got from the current Color Throwdown , also see below. I first thought about going quite literal with it, but then I decided against that. Used a curved die from SSS to cut my top panel and used my NBUS Uniko stamps to fill in the bottom panel. The sentiment is also by Uniko. The butterfly is a punch by Martha Stewart. Added tiny sequins and some Stickles. Also linking up with: Retro Rubber - flowers (not sure when those stamps came out - not recently, but the punch I used is OLD - years old...) Happy Stamping!

Unique Eggplants!

Hi Everyone, sharing a quick card I made for the One Layer simplicity challenge this month. The theme is fruit smoothie. That stumped me at first - not a lot of fruit stamps...but then I remembered my ancient wooden eggplant stamp from A Stamp in the Hand - sadly that company does not exist anymore.... Now if you are wondering what an eggplant has to do with a fruit - it IS one! I am quoting Wikipedia here: "Eggplant  ( Solanum melongena ) or  aubergine  is a  species  of  nightshade  grown for its edible fruit." Now I do have an apple stamp from that company and a pear, but I was fixated on eggplant.... So I took my markers and colored the eggplants - they look kind of blue here, but that has to do with my camera being unable to handle the color purple.... And then I needed a sentiment....my usual haphazard way of creating a card - starting and then what??? Finding a suitable sentiment was NOT easy, after all, those are egg...
