Happy Halloween!

Hi, I want to wish you a Happy Halloween! and right for this occasion I have  - guess what - a Halloween card! I mailed all of my cards out, so I had to make a new one.... I used a chevron background stamp from Rubber Necker, which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged metallic ink onto the balck cardstock. I used two different kinds of Washi tape - I just love how the grey Washi tape matches the chevron pattern - it has the same distance - what a coincidence.....The little tag is from an old Stampin' up tag set.  I colored the spider with a neon marker added some twine and a black gem. Of course, this card will go into a few challenges: Less is More  - use string or twine The Twinery  - Halloween theme Pinspired  -  Halloween theme CASology - Black --X-- I also wanted to share some Halloween cards I got - the first card I got from my blogging friend Susanne - perhaps you saw i...

Twinery #12 - In the Round - 10/18

Always at the last moment.... the  Twinery  challenge is coming to an end and I have to get my card in...... I somewhat recently was the lucky winner of this gorgeous twine from the Twinery (thank you Twinery) with THIS card - so I had to put my win to good use. I must say, this challenge was not easy for me. I had several ideas, but none of them looked really good  when I tried it out. This card evolved from one of my ideas. It took me a few days to "perfect" it. But now I am really happy with it. In fact I keep looking at it and it makes me smile. The birds are from my favorite Alley Way stamp set Bird Brain. The sentiment is also TAWS - all about YOU.  Perhaps it makes you smile too :) Thanks for visiting and thank you so  much for all your lovely comments. I so much appreciate them - thank you all!

The Twinery #10

It really took me forever to come up with an idea for the Twinery challenge                                                                I had a couple of them, but only in my head. I did not even try them out. Today I was actually making another card with watercolor paper and the block of paper I have is almost used up, but there are thin stripes, that remain. I detached them from the metal spiral and used them for this card: I cross-stitched them together with twine - of course.... A heart embellishment and the stamps are from Hero Arts - You and Me. I like it. It makes a strong statement, I think. It will go into my Valentine's card stash.... Never hurts, to be ahead of the game.... Oh yes, since I used snippets it will also go into the  Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground ...

The Twinery - Back to the School Bus

Back to school - how sad, the summer is over.... It will take some getting used to going back to the school routine. My son is a 7th grader now and my daughter will be going back to college on Tuesday.... The Twinery is setting the mood for that with their Back to the School Bus challenge. I made this card for it: The school bus I got from the internet and printed it onto yellow paper. I paper pieced the windows. the children in the bus i made with my fingerprints and doodles their hair and faces. The bus tires I made with twine and a brad in the center.  I popped the bus up with foam dots for dimension. Some Washi tape, a Hero Arts sentiment and a twine bow to finish it off. I hope you like it. Thanks for stepping by!

Twinery Challenge #8 and Make It Monday #129

Did you know that there is a challenge going on at the Twinery ? This is the inspiration picture:                                                                  It inspired me to make a card for my son's best friends upcoming birthday. It was kind of tricky to wrap the twine around the numbers - especially with the 1 - I started with that one. The 2 went better - I figured out how to do that. The trick is glossy accents on the back of the number.... I used some Washi tape and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler. The "th" is from the word "thanks" partially inked up.... --X-- And here is another card I made - this is for the   Make It Monday challenge . Heather Campbell is reviving the white crayon resist technique. It is pretty simple, but it does no...
