Oh Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone, here comes my weekly Christmas card - inspired by Merry Monday - loved the theme - something non standard - I always find that more interesting than the usual stuff. It is "non-black silhouettes". Well, I thought I can do this! Took out the Winter landscape die from CUTplorations and a Sizzix embossing folder, some white card stock and the funky reindeer by Dixie Crafts - actually that die cut I had left over from last years Christmas card production. The sentiment is by Stamplorations - Shery Russ Design. And because the reindeer wasn't goofy enough I gave it a googly eye..... Oh, how I love how this turned out! (Just in case you like the landscape die -  Use  code STAMPGIRLCORNELIA to get 20% off on all stamps, stencils, and dies on all regular- and sale-priced items in the store.) The Night before Christmas

Hi Everyone, here is my weekly Christmas card - playing with Merry Monday  - the theme is the night before Christmas. I am going with those lines: When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,  With a little old driver, so lively and quick,  I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.    It kind off resulted in a modern version with those Paper Smooches skyscrapers. The Santa sleigh is from an old Inkadinkadoo set. Added some Washi tape and white paint snow splatters Also linking up with: CAS Mix-up challenge  - stamping and splattering Die Traumfabrik - Hüter des Lichts/Rise of the Guardians ABC Christmas Card Challenges - J-Jingle Bells K-keep it simple Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - a hint of pink

Stencil Class Day 3 and Merry Mondays

Today is all about using embossing paste. I don't buy any - already enough stuff in my craft room... I make my own. Its super easy, feels soft and velvety when dry and it holds up well. It also dries really fast. For now I only have time to show you one card, but perhaps later today I'll show you more... The stencil is by TCW called Mini Branches. The recipe for the embossing paste you can find HERE . Just keep in mind - depending on the humidity the amount of water varies, but can be easily adjusted. The bird is Memory Box - perched Reed Bird. The little birds are by Impression Obsession. The sentiment is Hero Arts. Challenges: Merry Monday  -  Red, Vanilla, Kraft and  Chocolate with Ribbon   CHNC - Trees CHNC extra - anything Christmas Snippets Playground - use a snippet

A card for several challenges and welcome to a new Member!

I can't believe I did not get to my blog in 5 days.....But good news - I have a new blog follower to welcome! Sathya    her blog is called Expressive Creations  and she employs a broad spectrum of styles and techniques - beautiful work to find there. I am glad you found my blog. Here is your welcome picture: This is a quilt by Ellen Anne Eddy and called Skinny dipping. I discovered it on a recent visit at the Morris Museum in Morristown. I hope you like it! And now finally -  a card! I used the Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums. I colored the moose with Copics and fuzzy cut it. The cardbase I ran through y Big Shot, using the Papertrey Linen embossing plate. It give it a subtle texture, which does not show well in the picture, but makes it look really pretty.  The moose is elevated with dimensional tape, some Bakers twine to gibe it some sparkle! I am linking this card up with Paper Smooches anything goes challe...

I can't believe it - I got 3 new members -what joy! I want to welcome  Helen F  - an avid card maker for many years - I know her for quite a while, back from when I only was on flickr and we exchanged quite a few comments over time - beautiful blog Elizabeth  is from Scotland and also an avid card maker - lots of treasure to find on her blog Radhika  - she makes not only cool cards, but also beautiful jewelry. Go and check out those ladies' blog, if you have time!  Thank you so much for joining - it means so much to me. Of course I have a welcome picture for you, as I have for all my new members. I chose this one, because we are close to Halloween and I associate ravens with that holiday - with their spooky color and appearance.  This sphere with the cut out ravens is by Bill G. Floyd . We encountered him on a vacation in New Mexico, driving by his studio and being intrigued by raven sculpture near his home. We stopped and walked ...

Merry Monday #79

Here comes my last minute special for Merry Monday  - 2 hours before Mr. Linky closes.... That is the oh - so pretty inspiration picture: And here is my card: Simple, but I really like it! I used this wonderful stamp called Dazzling Snowflake from Hero Arts. The sentiment is also Hero Arts -  Decorate your Holidays. I white stamped both and in addition heat embossed them in white. Added a little bit of Stickles and a star gem in the center. I guess the sparkle does not really show in the picture....oh well... Merry Monday #78

Here is  Merry Monday 's inspiration photo: I love Cardinals - with their bright red feathers they always stand out.  So I put little cardinals on my Christmas card. I used a background that I had already left over from a prior challenge, which I did not like - I spritzed ti with Mr. Huey, but fits this card very well. The birch trees are by Impression Obsession and the sentiment is Martha Stewart. I popped it up on foam dots. I am also submitting this to  Christmas card challenges CHNC extra challenge   - anything Christmas Die Cut Divas  -  Animals/ Fall Simon Says - use rubber or clear  stamp

Merry Monday #76 and a FUN Day

Hi Everybody, there were 5 hours left to make a snowman card for Merry Monday when I checked this morning - lets get started! I used my brand new Sizzix embossing folder, some Washi tape on the sides and a stamp from Fiskars. The snowman is from Rubber soul. I heat embossed it and paper pieced it and propped it up on foam tape. Some twine to finish it. Really quick - just my kind of card! I am also linking this up with this weeks Simon Says challenge - Anything goes --X-- And guess where my new embossing folder is coming from? I went to the Scrapbook Expo yesterday with my sister and some of my brand new crafting friends: Here are we - from left to right: Ren-Yi from Little Tangles , me, Charlene also from Little Tangles, my sister and Elke - not sure if she has a blog. See how color coordinated we are - we are almost forming a rainbow! We shopped 'till we dropped - I could barely carry my bag in the end - my credit card company act...

Merry Monday #67

Another Christmas card to add to my growing collection..... Merry Monday  has this pretty sketch: I had to urn it around to make it fit my favorite Memory Box die  (Modern Landscape). I silver embossed vellum with Hero Arts Tiny Flakes. The ornament is Hero Arts Decorate your Holidays and the sentiment is Paper Smooches. I like the silver embossing - looks really elegant. I hope you like it, too!
