Guest Designing for 52CCT

Hi Everyone, I am back with my weekly Christmas card.  although this time I have the honor to be guest designer for  52CCT  - the theme is a sketch. The sketch (below) lends itself naturally to choosing a bauble as the main element.  I got this bauble last year, I think - it's from Sizzix and it embosses and die cuts at the same time. It is quite pretty. I choose white shimmer paper for it. Added some old Washi tape below and a lot of white splatters. Also added some stitched stars (Lil Inkers).  Lastly I added some gold thread string to hang up my bauble and nestled in my sentiment (Taylored Expressions). I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  Linking up with: Just Add Ink  -  Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - emboss it

CAS Christmas - Shine Bright

Hi Everyone, I am back with another Christmas card.  I am playing along with  52CCT  - the theme is a sketch, see below.  I pulled out those Tim Holtz dies (Sizzix) that I bought a while ago and have never used.... They were quite dusty, LOL! I used some old patterned paper (Funky Fossil) under the die cuts. I stamped the obese deer (Brutus Monroeon scrap paper and colored it with alcohol ink markers. Cut it out and added it to the card with foam tape. the tiny sentiment is by Winnie & Walter. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  Linking up with: 52CCT  - sketch Use Your Stuff - small type

Plaid Christmas

Hi Everyone, I am not a fan of this card, but I am showing it anyhow....should have passed on this challenge....I am not good with patterned paper, but occasionally I think I should use up all the paper I have hoarded despite my inability to use it adequately.  those this is one of those failed attempts, LOL! The prompt was to use plaid and I do think the paper is pretty. I added two embossed baubles (Sizzix). It's really brilliant, embossing and die cutting in one step. I did learn how to make a double bow (thanks for the internet). Added the sentiment. I also added some gilding polish to the baubles (did not really help...) Perhaps you like this better than I do. Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: The Male Room - dry embossing Christmas Craft Creations  - Plaid Christmas

Folk Art Tree

Hi Everyone, as you might know, I am set on producing at least one Christmas card per week this year. Here is my card for this week: I am playing along with the color challenge provided by  52 CCT . I used the pretty Folk Art Tree die  from Funky Fossil Designs. Layered gold shimmer paper behind it. Added it to a dry embossed white card base (Spellbinders) - so sorry you can't really see that in the photo. It is very subtle. Added a strip of patterned paper  and the word die (Tim Holtz) I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  Happy Stamping! Linking up with: 52 CCT  - green, white and gold

Homework and Make it Monday

I managed to make one of my "homework cards" from the CAS class - I was intrigued by those cute tiles that Julie Ebersole tought us the how to on day 1! Made it into a baby card: Used an ancient Sizzix die and a cuttlebug embossing folder. Some tissue paper, silver string and sequins. Its easy but the effect is great! I love it! I am also linking this card with the Snippets Playground - use a snippet (the tile paper) and with Happy Little Stampers - Embossing ( the tile is clear embossed) But I also love the effect you can achieve when layering cover plate die cuts, as Dawn McVey teaches us in this weeks Make it Monday. Looks cool, don't you think? Both the cover plate and sentiment are Papertrey. Added enamel dots. I am also playing with this card in: IN{K}SPIRE_me , using different greens and grey.    Seize the Birthday  - anything goes I thought I share - finally we got some snow - this is a picture of my front yard! ...

Halloween Tag card

I decided to combine a couple of challenges with this Halloween card for this, using an old tag die from Sizzix for the headstones The ghost is also an ancient die from Sizzix as well. Did a little stamping with a recollections stamp and added Washi tape, string and Paper Candi. I am also playing along in a couple of challenges: Inkspire Me  - Fall/Halloween Tag - You're it Color Throwdown #312

Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

Oh, this is amazing - the last time I checked 283 people have signed on to the blog hop - it must be a record. If you still with this, then you probably have arrived from the oh, so talented Rebecca's Fellows blog My Kitchen Table Studio - do you have any stamina left to keep hopping??? Or did you arrive from the wonderful Wanda Cullen - Cullen-ary Creations  (ehm - I just discovered a glitch in the blog hop list - for some reason my name is there twice), but I don't want to mess up  the order and by now its too late to correct the error..) Cath is leaving Moxie Fab - how sad... She has inspired and uplifted us all - how wonderful it was to get her inspiration pictures, to play in her challenges, to read and get to know fellow card makers better, to get a chance to win fabulous goodies, and the list goes on and on......  So Cath - this is for you: You will be missed! You made the blog world a better place to be. You appreciate th...
