Merry Monday #81 and more new Members

I can't believe it - I got 3 new members -what joy! I want to welcome  Helen F  - an avid card maker for many years - I know her for quite a while, back from when I only was on flickr and we exchanged quite a few comments over time - beautiful blog Elizabeth  is from Scotland and also an avid card maker - lots of treasure to find on her blog Radhika  - she makes not only cool cards, but also beautiful jewelry. Go and check out those ladies' blog, if you have time!  Thank you so much for joining - it means so much to me. Of course I have a welcome picture for you, as I have for all my new members. I chose this one, because we are close to Halloween and I associate ravens with that holiday - with their spooky color and appearance.  This sphere with the cut out ravens is by Bill G. Floyd . We encountered him on a vacation in New Mexico, driving by his studio and being intrigued by raven sculpture near his home. We stopped and walked ...

Paper Smooches with Snippets

Since Christmas is coming closer and closer I decided to make a Christmas cards for the Paper Smooches challenge. The cute snowman is from the Paper Smooches - Freezy Fellas set. I colored him with Copics and fuzzy cut him. The sentiment is from their Christmas sampler, stamped on a strip I had left over, which was already cut with the Papertrey Rickrack border die - how convenient. And that why this card will also make  it into the Snippets Playground . I mounted everything on a background piece of cardstock, embossed using a Sizzix Embossing folder. And of course some twine.  And this card will also participate in the CHNC extra challenge - anything Christmas and  Christmas Card Challenges  has an anything goes theme, as long as it's a  Christmas  card. Have a great weekend everybody! Thanks for stepping by!

Make it Monday #132

This week we have to use layered die cuts on the Make it Monday feature by Papertrey. The talented Dawn McVey  explains in a tutorial how to do that. She has some valuable tips on how to make this as easy as possible! I used a paper swatches from Home Depot  for this card. Since it was kind of drizzly and cloudy yesterday, I opted for a sunny yellow.  Supplies: Papertrey Rickrack border dies and Filigree Border Die, Papertrey Think Big Favorites, gems.  I frequently use paper swatches for my cards. They have great colors and you immediately get matching colors in the same color group. On Operation Write Home  Nancy talks about those swatches and you can link up your card. Hm - I am wondering if this could be put into the Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground , because of my use of paint swatches??? I'll let Diane decide that.... And lastly I am linking this up with the Die Cut Divas - Let's celebrate challenge

Jingle Bells

I was forced to take took a little break from cardmaking - with school starting and work and family obligations, there was simply no time. This card I made for Jingle Belles  took several days - no kidding, but in the end, 5 minutes here and there add up to one completed card....Not that I really was alot of work. I show you 3 views, because the embossing on the middle panel is subtle and hard to see. I used a Spellbinder plate for it. The sentiment is from Purple Onion design and the Papertrey Rickrack border die. Some ready made foil snowflakes, PP and brads. I am also linking this up with the CHNC challenge  - Anything Goes Christmas Here is the Jingle Bell Sketch:

Freshly Made Sketches #89 combined with Playdate Cafe #185

What happens, when you combine  Freshly Made Sketches with Playdate Cafe ????? Well, that's what happens......... I hope you like it! The stamps are from TAWS - the set is called Sea Mates - I won it with this card in their challenge #27- yeahhh!! I colored it with Copics. The banner's edges  I cut with a Papertrey Rickrack border die. --X-- As promised - I show you some pictures from the Studio Tour, where I displayed and sold some of my cards:  On the left you see one of my tables and on the right you see me bagging a just completed purchase.... My sister and daughter came by to say hello and show support. And here is another photo from the display. I got a lot of positive feedback and people really liked my cards. I had so much fun there!
