Spotlight on Water Color Emboss Resist with STAMPlorations!

Hi, Cornelia here today, I want to share a water color emboss resist technique with you, using two of the sentiment builder sets - Thank You and Happy :                   The technique I used varies a bit and I have a tutorial for you below. For the Happy Birthday card I also used those circles form the Holiday Artsy set  and some sequins, as you can see. For the Thank You card I heat embossed oink vellum with that pretty little flower from the Vignette Eclectic Florals  and added distress Stickles to the center. I made a collage to not bore you with too many images.... You see my supplies - water color paper, Versamark, clear embossing powder and my ancient watercolors that I used when I was in school.....nothing fancy.... After clear embossing the sentiment I took a brush and applied some water color around the letters and misted them with water, using a mini mister. See fist pic...

Addicted to Stamps Challenge #108

Hi ,  its time for a new  challenge  at  Addicted to Stamps and More ! For the next two weeks we like to see your holiday cards - any holiday for that matter, it does not need to be Christmas. But I felt like playing around with my favorite Christmas stamp set from STAMPlorations - its called  Holiday Artsy . I heat embossed it in different shades of green and then sponged around it and added some splatters.  Here you can see it a bit better. I also added some Stickles for sparkle... The sentiment I cut out and mounted it on chipboard.  We have a wonderful sponsor for this challenge - its Rick St. Dennis  The winner will get 3 digis! I am also linking this card with   Wow embossing powders challenge  - the theme is Monochrome. and with  Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - make it sparkle - added Stickles to the stars Just to let you know - I am on vacation now for the next two w...

Running Colors

Just a quick card for today - I have been quite busy making card for upcoming DT assignments, since my vacation is coming up and everything has to be in place by then... but I found a little time to play in two challenges. Just Us Girls has some of my favorite color combination this week - I had to play...and then CASology got me thinking about their theme "RUN".... So that's what I decided to do: A little different from my usual style...running colors - I kind of like it - just very different - I guess all those STAMPloration stamps are just begging to be used in mixed media projects..... So I took some of those sprays that I have and put drops of liquid onto watercolor paper. Used a brush to spread the color around a bit and then had it run down the paper. I also spritzed the paper with water, to make the color more runny. Stamped some other stamps on top once the card was dry. Added colored Scotch tape on top and the sentiments.  I also think it...

Spotlight on STAMPlorations "Celebrate Artsy"

Hi STAMPloration friends,  Cornelia  is here today! I am sure you have seen all the new STAMPlorations stamp sets that got released for  STAMPlorations's first birthday celebration . Today I want to  share  some cards with you that I made with my favorite set from this release - its  the    Celebrate Artsy Vignette set : It has soooo many possibilities! You can use it as background, but you can also use it as stand alone stamps. As you can see, I was playing around and got a little silly here. I did some generational stamping in the first card, drew the ears and tail onto the doggie. The "dear friend" is from the  Trendy Feathers set . The second card is even simpler - I can envision some Halloween theme with it too - just not in the mood yet.... The "Missing you" is from  Holiday Artsy . Added the googly eyes and those tiny punched hearts. Now go, "stretch" your stamps and get silly, too! So muc...

Happy Birthday Shery!

You all probably know Shery from one layer cards , the lovely, generous and creative mind behind STAMPlorations stamps . Its her birthday today! Happy Birthday Shery! I hope you'll have a blast today. I wish you many more!  Of course I used STAMPlorations stamps for this, augmented by some punches/die cuts Vignette - Celebrate Artsy Vignette - Its Your Day Sentiment Builders - Celebrate Holiday Artsy So how about to get to know us a bit better? Nonni (the organizer of this birthday surprise) thought up some questions for us: 1) My favorite STAMPlorations stamp and why: Well, that is a tough one - up to recently I would have chosen the Retro Mod set without a second thought, but the set I used here for this card is probably a close second. I just love the creative options those sets give me. Both sets are really unlimited in their use. Think of any card for any occasion and I can make a card using those sets. 2)  My favor...

For the next two weeks, until June 13 you can play with us using this sketch: I used the Cluster stamping technique for this card in addition to some masking.  I started with heat embossing the THANKS in clear I then masked first the vertical line and then the horizontal line and sponged away from the post it note.  I then added randomly those little flowers in different colors. I wiped off the color from the heat embossed thank you with a damp cloth and added some pearls.  Materials: All STAMPlorations stamps:  VIGNETTE-eclectic florals ,  Sentiment Builders Thank You ,  Holiday Artsy . pearls You may already know  Monika  our fabulous Guest Designer.
