Stamp Connection #52

Hi Everyone, Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 2rd Sunday of the month and this is our ninth transatlantic get-together! This time it was Tanja's turn to pick the requirements: Interactive Birthday Card I used the slider surprise die from MFT, which makes things real easy, although you could just make the whole thing with a rectangular die and a score board. The cute otters are also form MFT - the set is called otterly love. I had it forever in my stash until now NBUS, for no good reason. I used a Memory Box stencil to create the water and patterned paper for the rest of the card.  So cute! I have a lot of ideas of what to do next with this die - you'll see more of it, I promise! Lets check out   Tanja's artwork! Happy Stampi...

Stamp Connection #48

Hi Everyone, Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 2rd Sunday of the month and this is our ninth transatlantic get-together! This time it was Tanja's turn to pick the requirements: unicorn and rainbow I first thought I have no unicorns and then I remembered, that in fact I do have one, a real fun one from AALL&Create. Time to make it see the light of the day! I stamped it and sponged the background with pencil dust (Memory Box stencil). Used an erase, where it interfered with the unicorn. Colored the unicorn. Added the sentiment and some Washi tape as well as a left over strip of sprayed  paper. Lets check out   Tanja's artwork! Happy Stamping! Linking up with:

Twofer Challenge #13

Hi Everyone, I am playing again in the  Twofer challenge   - the current theme is STARS. No problem, I have lots of those. Since now stencils are on the allowed list I decided to go with this beautiful Memory Box stencil - if I remember correctly it has never seen the light of day... For my first card I sprinkled black Brusho pigments onto water color card stock. I got a bunch of backgrounds out of this one and decided to go with this one. Since the white background from the water color paper looked kind of blah I sponged distress inks on top. I also  outlined some of the bigger stars with a fine black pen. Added iridescent tape (with stars, too) and the sentiment (lil' Inkers). In teh end I also added some Stickles. For my second card I did the same thing. I used emerald and grey Brushos and used photo paper instead. Again I got a bunch of backgrounds out of this one. The cute dragon is from My Favorite Things, as is the sentiment....

Joy Clair - Seas the Day

Hello Everyone,  today I am sharing two cards using that cute set called Seas the Day from Joy Clair!  For my first card I used a stencil to make the background. Using distress ink and sponging in a lighter color at the top. I colored the mermaids with Copics. their fishtails are paper pieced with paint chips and heat embossed in gold. The rest I just stamped directly on the background, addling glossy accents to the bubbles and Wink of Stella to the jelly fish. For my second card I used the same set - those fish are just the mermaids tails. Their back fins are the crowns. Just drew in the eyes and mouth. Added Bakers Twine and a little strip of patterned paper (envelope liner). Hope you liked this! Don't forget to play with us in the  Joy Clair June challenge   - the theme is Masculine or Fathers Day and we have a beautiful inspiration picture to give you some colors to play with! The challenge...

Have a FIN-tastic Day!

Hi Everyone, I am taking a break from showing you Christmas cards I made - although I still have a whole bunch of them, that did not yet make it onto the blog...perhaps I'll just leave them in my folder and pull them out in case I have another health crisis, which hopefully will not ever happen again... Your Next Stamp has the cutest stamps and I love playing in their challenges. This time I am only going with the sketch, but I made it a bit asymmetric.  The stamps are YNS, of course. I colored the fish with Copics and drew in a few more air bubbles. The background is a stencil by Memory Box and I die cut the squares with a Simon Says die. And just for fun I added glossy accents to the  mask and the bubbles. This is the YNS sketch: Linking up with: The Snippets Playground  - use a snippet (the fish) Inkspirational  - anything but Christmas Happy Stamping!

Paper Smooches combined with Taylored Expressions

The son of a distant relative of mine - his name is Adrian is celebrating his 7th birthday and I wanted to make a card for him - he gets one every year. And what is better than to use those fabulously cute stamps from  Paper Smooches  for it? This weeks challenge is Anything Goes - what could be better? I also just discovered a new challenge - its by  Taylored Expressions  and they are celebrating their 6th birthday with a big birthday bash (see below) - I had to play and used their sketch for this card: I used a Memory Box stencil tp make the side strip and the "water" in the "aquarium" . The fish and sentiment are from the Paper Smooches set - Birthday Buddies. The "water plants" on the right are cut with a Memory Box die (NBUS). Here is a close-up - you can see better here, that I partially filled my aquarium with microbeads - got them on sale years ago and have never used them...  Part of the Taylored Expression requirements is...

House of Card August challenge

Hello, and welcome to another monthly challenge here at House of Cards !  We loved everything we saw last month and hope that we keep seeing many regular participants each time!  So, let's get to it!  We've got another challenge ready for you this month  - it is a sketch challenge: I used a Memory Box stencil. The fun fish and sentiment are by TAWS - Sea Mates. Added some sequins, as you can see..... And here is our sketch: So head over to the blog and let our amazing DT inspire you and have fun participating! I love to see your creations there! I am also linking this card with   BIZZY BEC'S Challenge - "ANYTHING GOES" and Inkspirational - use markers or pencil - the fish is colored with Copics

Birthday Fishes

I recently ordered some Paper Smooches stamps (because I don't yet have enough stamps, LOL).....they are just so damn cute - hard to resist..... But anyhow this set came in handy for this weeks Paper Smooches challenge . The inspiration picture is below - subtle stripes in blue, yellow and soft pink. I used the fish from the set Birthday Buddies, stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it in silver - those jars have a silver lid. I made a mask for the fishes and then used a Memory Box stencil to sponge the stripes waves. I colored the fish with Copics - stripes here as well.   You see the silver embossing better on the oblique image, straight on it looks like black ink....  Added the sentiment and bubbles (with glossy accents) and a jute bow. this is a one layer card, which qualifies it also for the A Blog named Hero challenge - which is collaborating with Paper Smooches right now I will also link up with KIS - add a bow Seize the Birthd...
