STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, its a BIG day today at STAMPlorations! This is our 3rd annual Giving Thanks Blog Hop !  It is bigger than ever! We are showcasing the new typographia stamps. 35 designers, including 8 GDT's! You are going to have a lot of fun here! I made two cards - this is card #1: My materials: Gratitude is the Blossom , Trendy Spring Blooms die ,  Stitched nesting die I heat embossed on wood paper and ran it through my Big Shot with the nesting die. Diecut the flowers form water color paper I had previously spritzed with Dylusion inks. Assembled it all on black card stock. Now card #2": My materials: Something to be thankful for , Stitched nesting die , The Birds and the Blooms Sponged the background with distress inks. Waited for them to dry completely and heat embossed in white. Stamped the flowers. Ran it through my Big Shot with the nesting die. Added Stickles. And here comes the BEST: Because...

Simply Create Too #51

There is a new challenge starting at the Simply Create Too challenge blog - the theme is SNOW or USE ONLY WHITE. You have two weeks to play in it! I made my own embossing paste for this card - the recipe you can find    HERE . It costs  literally  nothing and its quick and easy. When I first made it I was worried, that it would flake off, but that has not happenend.  It stayed silky smooth and pliable.   I took one of my TCW stencils, took a PTI star die and masked the star of the stencil with washi tape. I then smeared the embossing paste onto the stencil, which I had taped onto textured card stock and let it dry.  I die cut two stars using glitter paper, mounted them on dimensional tape and "hung" them on a silver string. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant - Merry Greetings. I am also entering this card into: The  Snippets Playground  CHNC challenge   - anything Christmas    Simon Says ...

Welcome to 2 new Members and a White Card

I have been incredibly busy the last few days and it looks like its going to be like that for the next weeks.....But it has always been like that - as soon as thanksgiving rolls around all sorts of things pop up and eat up my time. Do you feel the same way? But tonight I took some time - I needed to get my mind off stuff and made a card. But before we get there I have more important business to take care of. i have two more new members to welcome to my blog: Linda (no blog I'm afraid) and   Shirely . Shirley is a master of CAS cards, go pay her a visit - you won't be disappointed! I have a welcome picture for you Ladies: The sculpture is by  Anna Chromy  and is titled Olympic Spirit. It stands outside the Archaeological Museum in Athens. I like it a lot - so dynamic! And now the card, of course. I made this for Inkspirational  - White is the theme. I made another batch of embossing paste - the recipe you can find HERE . ...

Muse and CAS-ual Fridays

I have been a member on the new Muse blog since its very beginnings and so far have not managed to create a card for it - although I have voted twice.....But now, my first entry: Marion Vaggs card below is the inspiration card. I followed it closely with those monochromatic horizontal stripes, but I did not stamp on it. I used a TWC stencil over which I just partially sponged Versamark ink and them white embossed it. I did not want to cover the entire strip with the template - I thought that would be overpowering. The sentiment is die cut, using my old Cuttlebug alphabet dies. The sentiment is elevated with foam dots and I put a little pearl onto the "i". Since I did not use any stamp I will also add it to the CAS-ual Fridays challenge  and since its monochromatic it fits the Make my Monday challenge as well. And because its green its going into the  The Die Cut Diva's challenge - Anything Green .

Silver birthday card

No sure, what's wrong with me lately..... thought I'll combine the Make it Monday Marvelous Monogram challenge from Papertrey with the   Challenge, but no, it was not the regular Make it Monday, it was a blog hop ending yesterday. Alt least I did not screw up with the silver challenge . It took me a while to come up with something - actually Papertrey spurned my imagination  - as you can see. I made this card for my nieces birthday - those are her initials. I just hope she has more important things to do than checking my blog, I would like this to be a surprise..... It was kind of tricky gluing on the letters After some trial and error I managed to adhere them with glossy accents. The bigger silver circle is glued to chipboard, to give the card some dimension. And here is another challenge this card will be part of :   CASology CIRCLE   - as my new member Kimberly just told me - I wanted to make something else for this one,...

Clean and Simple Day 5

Stretch your stamps is the homework assignment on day 5 of the C&S class. I used the Hero Arts Horizontal lines background stamp (CG143) to create those 3 different backgrounds. On the first card I clear embossed it and colored the background with distress inks and a brush. On card two I inked it with black ink and colored the lines with markers and on card 3 I white embossed it on Kraft. Other materials: The other stamp on the first card is by Ryn Tanaka , put some Stickles on it, the thanks die cut is Cuttlebug, the heart border is Martha Stewart and the love sentiment is Hero Arts Word Shadow (AC0005) And here are the cards separately - kind of amazing how different they look.... Card # 1 will take part in the Play Date cafe challenge Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for all the nice comments you left me - I enjoy so much reading them!
