Happy New Year!!!

If you have not yet seen the inspiration picture at Inkspirational - go and have a look (its below, too) - just amazing. I knew I had to play.....And this is perfect for a New Years card, since I am a little tired of making Christmas cards..... I basically recreated this beautiful picture finally putting my Memory Box City Scape dies to good use... I have used them before, but forgot to take a picture of the card, before I sent it out.... I off set the die cuts just a tad. The black paper is glitter paper -looks really fabulous in real life. For teh firework I played around a little bit, since I don't have a die for it. I wanted to use the Memory Box Chloe Stem die  and turn it upside down, but I did not like the look of it - too bulky. So I cut it apart, as you can see: I thought that looks better....The sentiment is by STAMPlorations  Sentiment Builders: Christmas & New Year  and  Bloom Sketches . Added some Wink of Stell...

Simply Create Too - Celebrate your Country

Not so hard, right? Its Germany. You have two week to play with us - I hope to see you there! And I am really curious to see where all of you come from.... Materials: Memory Box Chloe Stem die, Avery Elle die, sentiment: Stamplorations Trendy Feathers Thanks for visiting!

CASology #164 with Snippets

The theme at CASology is HARVEST - and that makes me think about saying thanks. Being thankful for being here, having a family, a good job and friends and of course being in the blogging community, which is incredibly stimulating and supportive. I am so glad I started that hobby. I have new friends all over the world - that is so amazing. I never envisioned that would happen.  This card is entirely made of snippets - the color blocked background strip is a bag from Paper Source, the flower die cut is made from a paint swatch.   The sequins are from Neat&Tangled - I love them, they are a shiny matte and very elegant.  The sentiment is by Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler, heat embossed in gold.  And of course this card is going into the  Snippets Playground .

Two cards for Simply Create Too #43

Simply Create Too has a photo inspiration this month. (I wish I could show it to you, but the computer here does not let me copy the picture into this post - I will add it later)... I made two cards for this challenge and I want to share them with you: For this card I used the Memory Box Chloe Stem die, Washi tape and the lovely sentiment I got from my friend Monika in Munich - I can't remember the company - I am still in Calgary - leaving tomorrow morning and apparently I have nothing better do do....   I am also entering this card into the Moxie Fab Birthday card challenge . For this card I used the technique by Betsy Veldman , that I have used on a recent card I made for the Make it Monday by Papertrey. I like the result better this time - it really needs some practice... The birthday die is by Papertrey, the stars are from Simon Says and added some bling. Go and visit Simply Create Too - you have 12 days to s...

Make It Monday #126: 3D Die-cut Sentiments

This is the coolest technique! You have to check out Betsy Veldman's video over at Make it Monday ! She made the coolest card!!!! The die she used lend it self a little better to the technique than the one I used here, but it did come out okay I think......although the technique is a little tricky - takes some practice.... There is no stamping on the card - I never made one of those.... I continued the 3-D strip in the background, this added additional dimension. I just love this technique! Materials: Papertrey Hello Die, Memory Box Chloe Stem die, Copics --X-- I hope you are not getting sick and tired looking at my vacation pictures - but if you are, don't scroll down any further :) - there are some more..... This time they all show store signs in my hometown: I hope you enjoyed them, have a great day!

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fiftee...

colourQ challenge #192

A geometric pattern is the inspiration photo at the colourQ - that is for me! So I fiddled round with tiny paperstrips to recreate the pattern and I am quite happy with the result - it was worth my time  - what do you think? I left out the black squares - I wanted it to be a bit softer.... The die cut is from Memory Box - Chloe Stem, Hero Arts Essential Messages. Here is a close up: This is my second post today, but I did not wan tot miss the deadline for the challenge... I wish everybody a good night! Yawn....

Blog Candy Thanks

I have been very busy the last couple of days - so sorry my new members for the late greeting! But here it is - thank you Kate  - sorry, could not find a link Beverly  - sorry, could not find a link Sherrie  for joining my blog. I so much appreciate you and everyone else who just comes and visits. I have a welcome picture for you: Generally I like to show art pictures -  this is actually art made by a spider or insect, who nestled the egg sac into a leave. So sorry I neither know the critter, nor do I know the name of the plant - let me know, if you do. But I do think its amazingly beautiful and I hope you like it as much as I do. --X-- Recently I was the very lucky winner of Rosi's  generous blog candy. Not only did she send me a lot of goodies, but she made me a beautiful card and an adorable mini album that you can see HERE . I had to make a special than you card for her. I finally tried out those f...

Play Date Cafe #174

Here is the card I made for the Playdate cafe challenge . Somehow the bluish green comes out as blue on the picture - in real life it is a little more green, but anyhow, I think its close enough for the challenge. I cut lots of 1/4 inch strips, pasted them together and cut them again diagonally into 1 inch strips. Re-taped everything together and adhered it to the white card base. Somewhat tedious process. I prefer usually quicker things, but i still like how the card looks like. The sentiment is from  Hero Arts  - Leaf Print, the flower is Memory Box Chloe Stem die. I got sooo many lovely comments on my last blog post - thank you all! I really appreciate your comments and your time coming to my blog.  --X-- I wanted to share some more pictures from my Texas trip. I went to the San Antonio Botanic Garden. It is very pretty. Lot of flowers were in bloom and it was a lovely warm day - not like here right now, where we got another prediction ...

Playdate Cafe #171

The Play Date Cafe challenge #171  tempts us with pastel colors - Tangerine - apricot  and mint - here is the inspiration photo: Soooo pretty!  I tried to recreate the mood..... The first card is Papertrey sentiment and zig zag border dies, the flower is from Memory Box and glittered with Stickles.

Clean and Simple Day 2

I am trying to keep up with everything.....My Clean and simple Class, some challenges, life.... - what is better as to combine some of those things? Paper smooches  has this beautiful inspiration picture for their new challenge. Orange is one of my favorite colors, how can I not play? Day 2 of the Clean and Simple class has this pretty card in it by Debby Hughes , which I would like to show you, but can't - its class property. Anyhow she reminded us that we can use our dies to emboss paper and that's how this card came to be: And lastly this card fits the KIS challenge #6 - Dry embossing . Thank you all for looking at my blog and leaving such uplifting comments. I enjoy them tremendously! I wish you a very nice and pleasant weekend! Materials:  Memory Box Die - Chloe Stem, stamp: Hampton Art - Botanical, sentiment - Paper smooches - Christmas sampler. The little dots next to the sentim...
