BOO - Happy Halloween

Hi Everybody!  Happy Halloween to all of you! And fitting for this occasion I am sharing my last  Halloween  card for this year!  I got inspired by the Inspired by....challenge . Their picture really spoke to me and I basically copied it....Used some frame/postage stamps dies and some ancient woodblock stamps (Stampin' up. and Recollections). The sentiment is from an ancient Papertrey alphabet set. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping!   Linking up with: Inspired by....challenge Lost Coast Designs  - Cats

Hey Pumpkin

Hi everyone, I am sorry for my second post today, but I really wanted to link up my card with the Stampin' Royalty challenge and that link expires in a few hours.... They have such a cute Halloween inspiration picture, I couldn't resist.....you can see it below. My card is super simple - the hands are a die cut and the pumpkin is a punch, which I water colored. Added black splatters and the sentiment (NBUS Recollections stamp set from last year...) I got my inspiration for this card from my recent visit to the NY Botanic Garden, where they have such a fabulous Halloween display:  Love it - perhaps next year I'll make my own for my front yard... Monsters for Paper Players and New Member Greeting

Some time ahs passed and I have gotten two new members - time to greet them officially on my blog: Welcome Sarah Grey from Funky Fossils Designs  (fabulous blog - check it out if you don't know it yet!) and Nancy -  for whom I unfortunately could not find a link...but I will happily add one, if you let me know! As customary my ladies, you'll get a welcome picture - fitting my card somewhat: I hope you like it. I mostly stick with art and in a way this is as well - it is a sculpture made out of food cans - I photographed it a few years back at one of the CANstraction events that are held every year in NYC (and in many other cities) before Thanksgiving. The sculptures are afterwards donated to local food pantries and distributed to the needy.  --X-- I have not played for ages with The Paper Players   - but this weeks sketch is just too much fun! A while ago I discovered a new stamp company - they are called Flonz and are fro...

Guest Designing at Inkspirational and a reminder about STAMPlorations' blog hop!

I could not believe it when Marina from Inkspirational asked me if I wanted to be guest designer! I am still totally over the moon about it !!!! And of course I said yes. The theme for the next two weeks if FLIGHT Now there are many possibilities for that, but I choose to go with air travel.  I used an old stamp set from Recollections and combined it with my all time favorite Avery Elle set - To the Point. And then I was not sure if I liked the card enough, so I made a second card with rainbow colors.... I bent the triangle and mounted the plane on foam tape after I cut it out. So I hope you are as excited as I am to play with us for the next two weeks. Come on over to see all those beautiful card from the design team and get inspired! Thank you all at Inkspirational to give me this opportunity! And I'll see you at  Inkspirational ..... I am also linking BOTH cards with the current Avery Elle challenge - CAS --X-- ...

Dream Valley Challenge #88 - Wedding

Its time for a  new challenge at Dream Valley  - this time we have a really interesting theme - its  Weddings for the next two weeks!  Remember is doesn't have to be a card to enter our Challenge, you can enter anything at all as long as it follows the theme! I used  a silhouette stamp by Recollections for this card. the sentiment and little red hearts are by the same company. Added some red metallic thread and some coral beads to pep up this one-layer card. Our sponsor this time is: Lacy Sunshine Stamps Lacy Sunshine  Stamps offers  beautiful original and imaginative  digital stamps  for all your paper crafting needs.   All images from Lacy Sunshine are  hand  drawn and designed by Heather Valentin, a professional artist, muralist and  illustrator  and my dad, professional artist, G.P.  From the art desk of Lacy Sunshine's creator.... Addicted to CAS and OLS

Addicted to CAS ' theme this week is TRANSPORT - so I thought about air travel, since soon I'll go on my yearly trip to Germany.... I made myself a stencil for the clouds with punches and sponged them. The airplane is Recollections stamps, which I heat embossed in white. The sentiment is from the same set.  I drew a partial frame around it, since I thought it needed something to make it complete.  I am also adding this card to the One Layer simplicity challenge  - I 've Been Framed Hope you like it and thanks for visiting my blog today!

52CCT and Christmas Stamping All Year Long

Christmas Stamping All Year Long has mini cards as a challenge this week and the prize is 7 free digis from Bugaboo stamps. Now I am definitely NOT a fan of digital stamps, but I would make an exception for Bugaboo - they are just too much fun! So I checked on this challenge and there were 3 hours left! No problem - speed is my specialty! I had this negative die cut laying around form a previous challenge and it needed to be used, so I quickly threw this together: The die cut is from Memory Box - Scribble Tree, the sentiment is Paper Smooches - Christmas sampler. Some enamel dots and the card is finished! and who knows, may be I'll be the lucky one and get the luck of the draw;) And since I used some left overs I am also going to link this card up with the Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground , what fun! And here is something else - a new discovery of mine: X-mas on Tuesday I am not sure about the rules - maybe none? If I find out, I'll let you know... --X-...

TAWS #29

Hello everybody - I am almost back to normal.... One quick post tonight - can't miss the latest TAWS challenge ....... I am not a particular fan of red, white and blue. First I was mulling over a fourth of July theme, but I really wanted to incorporate those sprinkles. So I pulled out my splatter set from Michaels  - recollection stamps and combined it with a TAWS sentiment from the all about you set. So the way I interpret this card is that sometimes things don't go alright and end up in a mess, but in the end perhaps it will be okay - kind of like it is with this card - I do really like it! (My husband is not too fond of it - reminds him about blood.....)

For your Inspiration challenge and SSS

Before I show you my latest card, I want to welcome  ANGELA  to my blog. She is my latest member - HELLO and WELCOME to you! She has a beautiful blog and is  very creative! Head on over, if you have time - its a worthwhile visit! And here is your welcome photo: Its a Magnolia from my garden - its blooming right now. I hope you like it!  --X-- Such a gorgeous inspiration picture is featured on the For your Inspiration challenge this week! I went very close with my card to the picture. I masked a strip and sponged it with distress inks, stamped the  silhouette over it and adhered grey card stock above and below the masked strip. I will also participate with this card in the  Simon Says...Travel/Cityscapes challenge . Materials: Hero Arts International Skyline H5470, Recollections stamps Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thanks for all your lovely comments!

Dynamic Duos #47

I can welcome two new members on my blog! Hurrah! It always makes me happy when I get a new member Christine Cyndie Both are avid card makers - go and check out their work - its fabulous! Thank you so much for joining!   And here is my welcome picture for you: The artist is  Nathan Sawaya  - I showed a different piece of him in a recent prior blog post . He  is a New York-based artist who builds three-dimensional sculptures and mosaics from popular everyday items and is best known for his work with  LEGO  bricks. Two years ago there was an exhibit in a small museum nearby, which was just fabulous! Perhaps I'll show more of his works  in future posts... --X-- Needed a break from working all day long and scoured blog land for challenges....Preferably something quick and easy. And dynamic duos was just right ! I pulled out my recollections SPLAT stamp set, combined it with a sentiment from papers mooches,...

Two more Holiday Cards

I am getting close to be finished with my holiday cards, just a few more to go....The first card is made with stamps from Michaels, the tree is Memory Box and the sentiment is Hero Arts (Merriest Wishes). I colored  the stamps with Prismacolor pencils. The patterned paper is Martha Stewart.  The second card is made with a Hampton art stamp from Michaels, the little snowflakes are Rubber soul and the die cut border is from Memory Box.
