STAMPlorations Inspiration Project #52

Hi Everyone, its inspiration time at  STAMPlorations ! I am still in Christmas card mood.  Here are my supplies:      Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower Mixed Media Elements WOW black embossing powder I stamped and heat embossed the poinsettia onto water color card stock. Sprinkled some Brushos around and spritzed it. I made sure to not spritz the inside of the flower. Added the sentiment, the frame and the sequins once everything was dry. I was inspired by Sandy Allnock , who made some fantastic cards using that technique! Crazy Bird Canvas #2

Hi, guess what - my Crazy Bird obsession continues....I did not tell you I actually made 4 of those things...so here is number 2: What shall we call her - Miss Timid? She is standing in the rain - thanks to Ryn Tanaka, who is the creator of those fabulous water bubbles Same as the last one....First I gessoed, then I stamped the bird, masked it and spritzed with Dylusion spray. Colored the bird with Copics, stamped the bubbles  and treated them with some white highlights. Lastly I added water drops to give the background more interest. So this one likes the rain I think....The whole thing has a summer color scheme and that why I'll be linking this up with a couple of summer challenges, see below. I was asked to do a tutorial about how to get those droplets to really shine - I will, but in another project - I did not take any pictures while I made this.  Linking up with: Designs by Ryn   - June customer gallery Vintage Stamping Challen...

City Girl versus VOGUE

This weeks  Papercrafting Inspiration  immediately made me think City Girl  - the fab set from STAMPlorations by Shirley - you probably know about it, she has been popping up in blogland over and over again. I gave her a PP dress, colored her with Copics, masked her and stamped the background with one of the stamps in the Mixed Media Grunge set , also by STAMPlorations. Added glossy accents to the belt.  Here is the inspiration picture:   You think I captured it? Does she live up to to VOGUE? By the way - STAMPlorations has a sale going on right now: You may want to take advantage of that :) Have a stylish Sunday :)

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #26

Hi Everyone -  sorry for the late posting, but here is our new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations - don't worry  you'll have two weeks to link up: Simple and pretty! Here is the card I made for it: I used    Trendy Butterflies   and  Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds  to make the side strip, but before I stamped the butterflies I directly applied metallic ink and chalk in to the paper to get abase coloring for the strip. I like the shimmer of it. For the sentiment I went with  Bloom Sketches  . Here is a closeup, where you can see that shimmer better: I also added tiny gems to the antennae.         So, go and visit the STAMPlorations blog - great inspiration there to find and we also have a talented guest designer for this challenge - its Maria from Bulgaria , who shares a delightful card with us. I won't be part of the challenge team any longer at STAMPlorations, so this ...

Running Colors

Just a quick card for today - I have been quite busy making card for upcoming DT assignments, since my vacation is coming up and everything has to be in place by then... but I found a little time to play in two challenges. Just Us Girls has some of my favorite color combination this week - I had to play...and then CASology got me thinking about their theme "RUN".... So that's what I decided to do: A little different from my usual style...running colors - I kind of like it - just very different - I guess all those STAMPloration stamps are just begging to be used in mixed media projects..... So I took some of those sprays that I have and put drops of liquid onto watercolor paper. Used a brush to spread the color around a bit and then had it run down the paper. I also spritzed the paper with water, to make the color more runny. Stamped some other stamps on top once the card was dry. Added colored Scotch tape on top and the sentiments.  I also think it...
