Waterdrops with Tutorial

Hi Everyone, my blogging friend Coni from Which Craft? recently asked me how I do those water droplets by Ryn and asked me for a tutorial. So Coni, this is for you: I made the background with Brushos - it was an experiment - I do think distress inks would be the best, but I was too lazy for sponging..... You have to use watercolor paper. Stamped the droplets with Memento Tuxedo black ink. That hold up better to water than Versafine, which I generally use I then take a brush, brush the drop with water and immediately lift off color from the wet drop with a tissue.  As I said - distress inks work better than Brushos.....but I still think you can see a sublte difference when you compare the first picture with this one: The real effect you achieve with adding white highlights - my favorite pen is a white Sharpie The whole process takes some time, but it is worth it! A Graduation and a Card

Hi Everyone, we had a big celebration on Sunday - our daughter graduated Biomedical Engineering with highest honors (summa cum laude) from college!!!!! Yeahhh! We are so excited! She always was an outstanding student and she still is. I made that card for her: I made the graduation cap with a diamond die by Lifestyle Crafts and just cut the bottom part by hand. Made the tassel with embroidery gold thread an dadded some left over sequins from aprior project. The gold dots I  made with a stamp by  Avery Elle - Circle it and WOW embossing powder. The die cut sentiment is by Papertrey. Here is our daughter showing off her decorated cap: And here are both of my kids in front of the Biomedical Engineering building on Campus: Another view of my card: I am linking up with: Curtain call - Totally Tassel Friday Mashup - all about grads The Pink Elephan t - Graduation      And I have another car...

Shades of Grey and Spotlight on Bold florals

I discovered a new challenge blog - I think its called  My SCRAP-RU  - its a Russian blog (don't understand a work of Russian...) and the DT is amazing! Their challenge is 50 Shades of Grey. I did not read the book - I only read the reviews on amazon and that was enough for me, but the challenge certainly appeals to me, so I HAD to play! I used one of my new Patti Parrish stencils by iStencil  - its called Pac Man infinity - alone the name makes you wanna buy it, LOL! and since I was in a silly mood I gave it two googly eyes. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And then I thought I can just use one of those Pac Man columns and added those tiny hearts. And as luck will have it -  Less is More is also having a fitting challenge I am going to link up with - its predominantly Black! also linking with Operation Write Home - masculine cards And as usual for a Tuesday - I have something else for you - my STAMPlorations...

Addicted to Stamps and More #134 and Spotlight Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  ATSM ! For the next two week its going to be CAS - just my thing! And hopefully yours, too! I made a birthday card, because for some reason I always need more and never seem to have enough.... I was inspired by this weeks Make it Monday , where the talented  Ashley Newell  shows us a video about  stamps and doodling. Since I  mainly own die cuts from Papertrey and not so many stamps that would fit this theme I made my own out of fun foam, using my latest Papertrey dies (just got the order a few days ago) and cut those in fun foam - it works so well - voila - you have our own stamps, spending only a fraction of the money! I doodled around the stamps as you can see. Gives you kind of a cool effect....a little more tremor and one would think I drank too much ;) Added tiny enamel dots - do you know about this month House of Cards challenge - its enamel dots - thought I'll let you know..... Our wonderful spons...

For the next two weeks, until June 13 you can play with us using this sketch: I used the Cluster stamping technique for this card in addition to some masking.  I started with heat embossing the THANKS in clear I then masked first the vertical line and then the horizontal line and sponged away from the post it note.  I then added randomly those little flowers in different colors. I wiped off the color from the heat embossed thank you with a damp cloth and added some pearls.  Materials: All STAMPlorations stamps:  VIGNETTE-eclectic florals ,  Sentiment Builders Thank You ,  Holiday Artsy . pearls You may already know  Monika  our fabulous Guest Designer.
