Make it Monday #146

Hello again, I am playing with Make it Monday . The theme is to create an angled background. Ashley Newell  has a great video to show you how to do just that. I choose to go with all white, using all the PTI embossing plates that I own.... Its pretty quick and easy to make this card - just up my alley.... All the other supplies are PT as well - except the sequins.  I am not so happy with the small "happy", but I don't have any larger one from PTI - may be I should invest into more supplies - what do you think? I am also linking this card with the  Snippets Playground - use snippets. I used paint chips for the numbers and the TH - they are all different shades of red, but it does not show to well in the photo....

TAWS #44 and some more Christmas cards

I am back into the swing of things with another card I made yesterday for the TAWS challenge . I used the freebies that are available on the TAWS website. Here is the inspiration photo: And that's my card: You gotta love this pink Christmas tree! Anyhow I loved it so much - I put three of them on my card, colored with Copics. If you mag up the inspiration photo you'll see that there is a white painted brick wall, which I mimicked with the embossing folder - Lifestyle Crafts. The ornaments and two of the trees are elevated with foam dots and I used Twine from the Twinery. I am also linking this card with the CHNC challenge  extra- anything Christmas and the regular CHNC challenge   --X-- I also want to share with you some more Christmas cards my blogging friends surprised me with: This lovely card is from Diane - she is from Alabama - such a cool card! she digitally creates all her images - amazing! A Year in Review - 2013

What a year it was - just amazing all those thing that happened for me in blogland! In just a little over a year I increased my membership to 110, became member of a DT - for Simply Create Too (and actually one more, but I can't tell you yet...), made several good friends - totally unexpected - I never dreamed of that....., but it makes me really happy. I got a whole lot of wins or honorable mentions at challenges I like to play in and I just had so much fun doing all of this over the last year! Thank you all for helping my blog along, for all your encouraging, nice and beautiful comments - you make my day - always. Thanks to all my silent visitors as well - it means a lot to me to have you come over and look at my stuff!  But now, lets have the review begin - I could not settle on just one card per month - I'll show you two - I hope you don't mind....... January: February: March:  April: ...

Lavinia and Stamplorations again!

Good morning my friends, I could not resist - having a quiet morning to sneak up into my card room and make another card for  Stamplorations .....I liked yesterdays card, but it really is not my style. So here is card #2: I used this gorgeous dandelion stamp set from Lavinina - had it for a while now, but never used it, stamping them with Versamark and sponging around them with aqua and light blue ink. I then cut the squares. I used the same stamps again stamping directly onto the card base and mounted the squares on foam dots to elevate them. I put some Stickles on the dandelions - I think it shows best in the magnified view. I was inspired by   Heather Telford , one of my heros, who once made a card with dandelions in a similar way. I will also link this card with Lavinia  - anything goes Keep it Simple  - anything goes Inkspirational  - anything goes   Creative Friday  - no Christmas card Crafts4eternity ...

Stamplorations

Stamplorations challenge  is all about silhouette stamps. I used a stamp set from Hero Arts called Lotus Leaves, which is all silhouette stamps. I had this set forever now - it is so pretty , but I did not get around to use it.....The big flower I heat embossed after stamping it with yellow pigment ink and sponged around it.  The small flowers I stamped with Versamark onto yellow card stock. The sentiment is Hero Arts Heart Felt Messages. Some twine from the Twinery, to balance it out. Its a bit different than my usual style, but I still like it - especially how the yellow of the flower gets repeated in the card base. I am also linking this card with Creative Friday - no Christmas card Inkspirational - Anything goes Crafts4eternity  - use something new Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Papertrey Blog Hop

Hi Everybody, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed your Holiday! We had a lot of fun - having everybody here on Christmas including the daughter of an old friend of mine who is doing an exchange year in Maine and had to leave school over the winter vacation.  I finally found some time to take part in the Papertrey Blog Hop ! Here is the inspiration picture - lots of beautifully wrapped presents: So I took some patterned paper and used my Papertrey Pillow Box Die to cut the box. The Christmas tree die is Papertrey as well and the star is from Simon Says. I wrapped it all with gold string. Quick and easy and it looks quite pretty! I love that pillowbox die - its so convenient for all those gift cards that I often need. Have a great day and thanks for coming over!

A card for several challenges and welcome to a new Member!

I can't believe I did not get to my blog in 5 days.....But good news - I have a new blog follower to welcome! Sathya    her blog is called Expressive Creations  and she employs a broad spectrum of styles and techniques - beautiful work to find there. I am glad you found my blog. Here is your welcome picture: This is a quilt by Ellen Anne Eddy and called Skinny dipping. I discovered it on a recent visit at the Morris Museum in Morristown. I hope you like it! And now finally -  a card! I used the Paper Smooches set Chubby Chums. I colored the moose with Copics and fuzzy cut it. The cardbase I ran through y Big Shot, using the Papertrey Linen embossing plate. It give it a subtle texture, which does not show well in the picture, but makes it look really pretty.  The moose is elevated with dimensional tape, some Bakers twine to gibe it some sparkle! I am linking this card up with Paper Smooches anything goes challe...

Muse #47 and two surprise cards

One more post today - I saw the Muse challenge a few days ago and the card by Therese Clavird is just soooo fun and CAS-tastic I had to play!  It just makes me smile :) Of course I can't just copy it, although I really would like to do just that..... so I took some free interpretation here and turned it into a Christmas card: I basically just went with the underlaid die-cut with different papers, got the horizontal line with the silver thread and the stars. To leave the card just on a white background looked kind of bland, so I cut some strips of the tree paper and glued it to the sides of the card turning the ombre patttern around, to give it more life. Well, I like it, it looks quite elegant and I really like the sparkle from the glitter paper.  Materials: Papertrey Christmas tree die, sentiment by Impression Obsession, small stars -  Simon Says dies --X-- And here I want to share a card with you that I got from my blog f...

House of Cards and Paper Players

House of Cards is hosting a blog hop and is having a DT call- I am glad I found out about this  - just in time.......I have played in their challenges in the past, but lately I did not get a chance.....but lately I have not gotten to do much card making anyhow. Perhaps after the Holidays are over I'll manage to have more time in my craft room. One can always hope..... So here is the inspiration picture - very elegant and festive - it calls out for a Christmas card! And here it is: I took several pictures in an attempt to capture the glitter and shine of this card. The square under the wreath is glimmer paper and the wreath is die cut with two different types of glitter paper. I added some gems and a pearl.  I like it very much - I hope you do, too! And as luck will have it my card also fits the Paper Players theme : And, because I used some Snippets its going into the Snippets Playground I am also linking this card wit...
