Linda's Scramble on flickr

Yesterday was so much fun - Linda hosted a scramble in the hero Arts flickr group. Its one of my favorite things to do. Last month I messed up and missed it by a day, this time I  put it in my calendar.....
The theme was  Embossing Technique - either embossing with powder or an embossing folder or other dry embossing. You could even do that faux embossing using die cuts as Shari showed on the HA Blog - see it here - or use a score tool to get an embossed effect. first I had some trouble with that - I tried to guess what we would do thinking Easter is coming and who couldn't use an Easter card.....So it took me a while to come up with something. Being totally stuck on Easter I made an Easter card anyhow.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder, the stamps are Hero Arts from the April set Cl051, little dots of Perfect Pearls and Stickles

Then I went back to the scramble to see what everybody else is doing - and some people already had posted 3 - yes, THREE cards..... So back I went for a quickie card, just coloring the embossing folder with Copics. Its not perfect - normally I would spend just a little more time on it, but I did not have that luxury.....

Materials: Cuttlebug embossing folder - colored with Copics, sentiment Hero Arts - Sending Smiles Messages

And that's how I did it:
I lined up a ruler along the "valleys" of the embossing folder and in (mostly) one stroke went along the ruler with the Copic marker - once I did all those lines I trimmed of the messy edges and mounted it on a white cardstock base.

I linked this card up with the Challenges 4 everybody - Anything goes

Zwei ganz tolle Karten hast du da gemacht!

I absolutely love both these cards! Can't believe you did them for a scramble! I didn't know you could ink an embossing folder with COPICS--that would be something even a coloring challenged gal, like me, could do--LOL! Do they wash off with water?

The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
