Merry Monday #81 and more new Members

I can't believe it - I got 3 new members -what joy! I want to welcome

Helen F - an avid card maker for many years - I know her for quite a while, back from when I only was on flickr and we exchanged quite a few comments over time - beautiful blog
Elizabeth is from Scotland and also an avid card maker - lots of treasure to find on her blog
Radhika - she makes not only cool cards, but also beautiful jewelry.

Go and check out those ladies' blog, if you have time!

Thank you so much for joining - it means so much to me. Of course I have a welcome picture for you, as I have for all my new members. I chose this one, because we are close to Halloween and I associate ravens with that holiday - with their spooky color and appearance.

This sphere with the cut out ravens is by Bill G. Floyd. We encountered him on a vacation in New Mexico, driving by his studio and being intrigued by raven sculpture near his home. We stopped and walked in and chatted quite a while with him. He also makes wind chimes out of recycled oxygen casings - really cool!

This was one of those times, where I immediately knew what to make for......
I recently got this cute stamp on ebay and my sister asked me what I wanted with it and I said  - use it for some card, what else??? And here we go - this is  the perfect occasion - the Merry Monday challenge - use a Santa on your card.

The Santa is little, but you know, he is far up in the sky, but one can clearly make him out - you can even see the Rudolph's red nose - below is a close-up:

Used some left over ric rac border in silver that I have left over from a hideous card I made yesterday - I am not going to post it I decided....That may be actually the first card that I won't show here, come to think of it.......This card deviates a bit from my usual style, but I still like it a lot. I don't mind doing some different styles in between....

As you can see I did a lot of sponging here. Stamps by: Magenta -sentiment, Inkadinkadoo - trees, Stampin' up - Santa, Papertrey Rickrack border die

This card also goes into the Snippets Playground - (left over ric rac border) - I think I will be the reason when Diane will limit the entries to this challenge....

And I am linking it with the Simon Says Monday challenge - Anything Goes

What a super card Cornelia! Beautiful scene and I do so love the Santa and reindeer stamp you used so well.

I did grin about me limiting numbers of entries to the Playground, I limited it to three per week quite a while ago when some enthusiasts were entering up to 20 cards but I can see how addictive using up those snippets is though :)

Sorry I'm a bit late calling by, still battling holiday laundry here :(

Hugs, Di xx

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
