Happy Halloween!

Hi, I want to wish you a Happy Halloween! and right for this occasion I have  - guess what - a Halloween card! I mailed all of my cards out, so I had to make a new one.... I used a chevron background stamp from Rubber Necker, which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged metallic ink onto the balck cardstock. I used two different kinds of Washi tape - I just love how the grey Washi tape matches the chevron pattern - it has the same distance - what a coincidence.....The little tag is from an old Stampin' up tag set.  I colored the spider with a neon marker added some twine and a black gem. Of course, this card will go into a few challenges: Less is More  - use string or twine The Twinery  - Halloween theme Pinspired  -  Halloween theme CASology - Black --X-- I also wanted to share some Halloween cards I got - the first card I got from my blogging friend Susanne - perhaps you saw it already on her blog... So cu

Merry Monday #81 and more new Members

I can't believe it - I got 3 new members -what joy! I want to welcome  Helen F  - an avid card maker for many years - I know her for quite a while, back from when I only was on flickr and we exchanged quite a few comments over time - beautiful blog Elizabeth  is from Scotland and also an avid card maker - lots of treasure to find on her blog Radhika  - she makes not only cool cards, but also beautiful jewelry. Go and check out those ladies' blog, if you have time!  Thank you so much for joining - it means so much to me. Of course I have a welcome picture for you, as I have for all my new members. I chose this one, because we are close to Halloween and I associate ravens with that holiday - with their spooky color and appearance.  This sphere with the cut out ravens is by Bill G. Floyd . We encountered him on a vacation in New Mexico, driving by his studio and being intrigued by raven sculpture near his home. We stopped and walked in and chatted quite

My Favorite Things #147 and a Bunch of other Challenges

Another wreath card -  after I made the wreath card for the Festive Friday challenge, I discovered that the sketch from My Favorite Things is kind of similar to what I did, but did not quite cut it...But I like the card so much, that I decides to just make a second one, similar to the first.  Again I just two different kind of shimmer paper to cut the wreath - this time one of them was more glitzi. I underlayed the wreath with glitter paper - the bow is again from a paint swatch.  I added little dots of liquid pearls and a pearl for the bow. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Merry Greetings. Here in the close-up you can kind of see how the whole card just shimmers and glitters - it is very pretty. I think I like it even more than the fist card... I am also linking this card up with  Snippets Playground  - use a snippet Rudolph's Day Inkspirational  - wreath Festive Friday challenge  - wreath Simon Says Monday challenge

Paper Smooches

Here comes my last minute special  - my card for this week's Paper Smooches challenge: Its a color challenge. The whimsical gnome is holding a bouquet of mushrooms - I think this makes for a fun birthday card I stamped everything - except the tree stump on white paper, heat embossed it, colored it with Copics and fuzzy cut it.  I added a twine garland to it. Some blue Stickles on the "i's" of the sentiment.I rounded the corners, it gives the card a nice touch.

Little Tangles #23

Hi All, today I played around for the Little Tangles challenge  and to make another Christmas card - can't have too many of those....... Its a sketch challenge  - I have posted the sketch below. I used some of my washi tape, a bauble from the set ca lled  Merry and Bright, which I heat embossed in red and then added bright blue Stickles. The sentiment is from the same set. And of course some sequins for sparkle! Here is the sketch: I will also link up this card with the  CHNC challenge  , the  Christmas card challenges  and  the  Snippets Playground  - the bauble is made from snippets. Papertrey Blog Hop

Great idea to make tags - I love it when something comes in handy! The  Papertrey Blog Hop  task is to make at least five tags and I just managed to make my five.....Its actually the first time I made tags, so this was a new experience for me. They are kind of cute little things to make.... I discovered, that I really don't have a lot of holiday supplies from Papertrey, but enough to take part in the hop.... All the dies are Papertrey, so are the stamps. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from my favorite set called Mixed Messages. The "snowflakes" are from the  Iconic Images set and I put some Stickles on them. And of course I used Twine from the Twinery on my tags. The tag die is from Mama Elephant

Dynamic Duos #75

Not much time tonight, but I did manage to make this card for the Dynamic Duos challenge - can't resist a Halloween theme... I heat embossed the Stampin' up pumpkins from the set Carved and Candlelit with orange embossing powder. The dripping Halloween stamp is from Michaels - also heat embossed. The ghost eyes in the back are from some unknown stamp company and the rest are punches by Martha Stewart I put some accents with my favorite white pen - its a Sharpie. Its works really well - its the best out there in my opinion. So, what do you think - are you scared ? - I sure hope so. Nonetheless I wish you good dreams, no ghostly nightmares.... ;) And of course I am linking up with my favorite challenge - the  Snippets Playground - all the white paper is snippets!

Chinese Lanterns

Autumn colors is the challenge this month at  Lavinia  stamps. I choose yellow, orange and green. I stamped the Chinese Lanterns in black and colored them with Copics. I put glossy accetns on the lanterns and let it dry. Then   I sponged around the lanterns after masking  off a square. All it need now is a sentiment, which it will get depending on the occasion I'll use it for... I hope you like it. Its pretty late now - I wish you all a good night!

Paper Smooches

I am really in the mood for making Christmas cards this year and what is better than this super fun Paper Smooches set called Freezy Fellas? I fuzzy cut the snowmen. The frame I made with paper from Martha Stewart and the little stars are from Impression Obsession - with some Stickles.  The inside of the frame I sponged. The sentiment is also Paper Smooches - Christmas sampler. Her is the sketch for the Paper Smooches challenge : I will also link up this card with the  CHNC challenge  , the  Christmas card challenges  and  the  Snippets Playground  - the snowmen are made from snippets. Merry Monday #79

I used this wonderful stamp called Dazzling Snowflake from Hero Arts. The sentiment is also Hero Arts -  Decorate your Holidays. I white stamped both and in addition heat embossed them in white. Added a little bit of Stickles and a star gem in the center. I guess the sparkle does not really show in the picture....oh well... Pumpkins and Welcome to New Members

This time I can welcome 3 new members to my blog! Monika Gaby  - Erzibueglechen Andrea (no blog) I am happy you joined my blog! Hopefully you will stay and like what I create in the future! Monika and Gaby have beautiful blogs - go and visit them, if you have time - there is lots of ideas to find!! I have 2 welcome pictures for you. I thought they fit the season. The sculpture is called "Autumn". It is by Philip Haas and right now on exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. He  is an American artist,   was  born 1954 and he also is a screenwriter and filmmaker. He made 4 sculptures, called the four seasons - they are all there and quite impressive to look at!                                                     He took the idea from Giuseppe Archimboldo ( 1526-1593)  and created huge sculptures, whereas Archimboldo stayed in 2 dimensions. Pretty similar - I guess its called CASEing..... I hope you like your pictures! --X-- B

Twinery #12 - In the Round - 10/18

Always at the last moment.... the  Twinery  challenge is coming to an end and I have to get my card in...... I somewhat recently was the lucky winner of this gorgeous twine from the Twinery (thank you Twinery) with THIS card - so I had to put my win to good use. I must say, this challenge was not easy for me. I had several ideas, but none of them looked really good  when I tried it out. This card evolved from one of my ideas. It took me a few days to "perfect" it. But now I am really happy with it. In fact I keep looking at it and it makes me smile. The birds are from my favorite Alley Way stamp set Bird Brain. The sentiment is also TAWS - all about YOU.  Perhaps it makes you smile too :) Thanks for visiting and thank you so  much for all your lovely comments. I so much appreciate them - thank you all!

Pinspired #19

Isn't that cool - that inspiration photo from Pinspired ? Not that I am a fan of make-up, but I like the colors a lot! I made two cards. I used shimmer paper and an Avery Elle die. For the first card I just pieced those little die cuts together and for the second card I also used the negative die-cut. Some sequins for extra sparkle. The sentiment on the first card is by Fresh Squeezed Stamps, the sentiment of the second card is Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler. I like both cards - the graphic feel of them, the colors and the metallic sheen. I am also linking them with : Seize the Birthday and  the first card I'll link with  the   Snippets playground  - it kind of came as an idea after the second card - why throw away all those little  thingies??? Inkspirational  - anything goes Hope you like them too!
