KIS#38

I have not played with Keep it Simple in a while - time to change that.... this is about doing something bright - not sure how bight that is, but its the best I could do tonight.... Needed a birthday card.... The stamp is by Technique Tuesday, colored with watercolor pencils. The balloon is Mama Elephant from the party kit (on foam tape) and well, an enamel dot as you can see.  Sorry for the short post  - had to work late - not much time....I wish the day had 48 hours....

Dynamic Duos and LIM

I got my mail today and boy there were a lot of surprises in there - about some I'll tell you later, since I don't have a lot of time right now, but I also got some more stamping supplies - yeahhh - as if I would need more ...... I had to try some of them right away - using my new STAMPlorations set  SUBWAY ART BUILDERS: Create (this is a sneak preview of part of the set - the set will be released in Ma y)  and the  VIGNETTE: Artful Flutters The circle lines I created with a brand new stencil from Memory Box - Radio Waves - I sponged that - it was a bit tricky, because the stencil is so delicate.... The butterflies I made with a scrap piece of acetate - a leftover form some packaging, which I colored with alcohol inks and stamped the butterflies with Staz On ink. All the ink is on the backside of the butterflies to protect the colors. I added some Stickles to the bodies of the butterflies - love the sparkle... the curvy line is from Papertrey Happy Trails

Annabelle April Challenge

Just in the nick of time - sneaking into the  Annabelle  April sketch challenge, (see below) using the colors from  colour me.....   I used the Annabelle stamp set Garden Silhouettes, heat embossed them with clear embossing powder and sponged around with distress inks. I mounted the circle on foam tape on textures card stock - using the Papertrey Linen embossing plate. This gives it a nice texture. The sentiment is from the same set - it actually says GIVE thanks, but I cut off the GIVE...., since I needed a Thank you card. I added Stickles to the flowers - they sparkle really nicely! I am also adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - the theme is CAS and to CAS on Sunday - Sparkle and Shimmer Snippets Playground - use a snippet - the circle was one

I just came back from vacation - a week of no card making - I was getting withdrawal symptoms - LOL! What better than being inspired by Marion Vagg  - this weeks fabulous Muse over at the  Muse challenge ! You'll see her card below. I used the Avery Elle set Bright Days. I heat embossed the yellow sun rays and then sponged around them. The sentiment is also by Avery Elle -To the Point. the card stock is textured - got it from my blogging friend Anita, but you can see this better in the picture below: Here is this weeks Muse card: I am also adding this card to the  Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - the theme is CAS and to CAS-ual Fridays - Three Thirds (3 "suns", 3 colors) Have a great day Everyone and thank you for all you fabulous comments during my week of absence from blog land! I loved all of them. Thank you so much!

I am still on vacation in Boulder and its so beautiful here. Dream Valley #80 - Say it with Words

Hi Everybody,  its another challenge at  Dream Valley  and the challenge is "Say it with Words"! Are you up for this? Just use a large sentiment or a poem as your focal point.  This is really easy to do with those MOM stamps from STAMPlorations . I love them and I also love the different fonts. I made a little chalk board here, that I hung up with twine and the help of eyelets into this tent card.  Here is a side view: You fold up a strip of cardstock into an "M" and glue it to the front and back panel of your card. There is still enough space on the back to write something personal.  The vines on the side are also STAMPlorations - they are from the set  Distressed Floral Swirls ,   Added tiny pearls and colored with Copics.  Now  head over to the blog  and let our wonderful DT inspire you!

HAPPY EASTER with Muse # 63

HAPPY EASTER to all of you! Before I go on with this post I just wanted to let you know that I am on vacation in Boulder for this week and I am taking a little break from blogging.......but I'll catch up with everything once I'll come back! I am playing again at the Muse . The amazing  Therese Calvird  is providing inspiration for us - her wonderful card is below, further down. I knew immediately what to use for my card. I have this Sizzix embossing folder, which has a similar pattern as Therese's card. I swiped  the embossed panel with different colored green inks. to give it some ombre effect.  The bunnies are IO, the banner is from Avery Elle and he stamp is an ancient woodblock stamp from Repeat Impressions. I gave the bunnies some eyes made with liquid enamel and a black marker.  they look better that way.  And just for the fun of it I am linking this with Simply Create Too - no digis or stamped images - there is still a couple of days l

Card Drive for Lauryn with Paper Smooches

I heard about Lauryn through Lisa from The Purple Place . You can read about Lauryn HERE . today is a blog hop taking place for her and I am not officially part of it, but wanted to make a card for her and show it at the day of the hop. Please visit  The Purple Place  for the hop details.                                            Lauryn was diagnosed with Leukemia Thursday, March 27th. She has been in the hospital since her diagnosis and will remain there having chemo treatments. Please pray for this sweet little girl and her dear family. Lauryn has two siblings that she just adores! Updates can be found via their Facebook page  HERE . I hope this card cheers her up!  I took the inspiration from this weeks Paper Smooches challenge , see the inspiration picture below: I cut the banners and hung them onto Bakers Twine. All stamps are Paper Smooches from the set Chubby Chums. And guess what? I used a lot of snippets for this card - it goes into the

CASology #90 and a second card for PTI

I just love those cue words at CASology - this time its WET. For wet spring maybe? Or tears? So many possibilities....I went with the tears - can never pass up an opportunity to play with my Ryn Tanaka stamps...... I used water color paper, stamped the tears and then colored them in with diluted distress inks - lots of water here... I added glossy accents to make them extra wet and tiny liquid enamel dots for extra reflection. The sentiment is by IO.  ---X--- I had cut up too much paper for this weeks Make it Monday challenge and did not want to throw it out. So I just made a second card with the scraps. Quite similar to my first card - you can see it HERE The wooden speech bubbles are from Michaels, the sentiment is by CASual Fridays, and I used the Papertrey Harlequin embossing folder for the quilted look. And since this card used up scraps I am linking it with the Snippets Playground .

Avery Elle combined with Colour me

We had such a gorgeous spring day today and I was busy all day long preparing for a course I have ot give in May and cleaning up my house.... But then I needed a break and made a card - what else would I do....?  I made it for the    AEI♥U Challenge  - water color and used those gorgeous colors from   Colour me...! I pulled out my favorite set from Avery Elle - Bright Days and heat embossed the two triangles. I water colored around them, creating a background and then stamped the triangles again in the challenge colors. Added some splatters.  The sentiment is from the Avery Elle set - Fanfare. Added some Paper Candy, colored with Copics. I hope you like it, I sure do! And now back to work.... Have a great weekend and thank you for all your lovely comments! I am also linking this with Seize the Birthday  - optional White on White  Time Out challenge  - Masculine Birthday Just us Girls  - watercolor background

Simply Create Too #59 - No Stamped Images

Hi Everybody, its time for a new challenge at  Simply Create Too ! This time we ask you to make a card without stamped images. No so easy, at least for me......I LIKE stamping! A stamped sentiment is okay (thank goodness!) Here is my card: T learned this on a previous Make it Monday from Papertrey - layered die cuts. Its really neat and a great way to display your border dies. The "paper" is really paint chips (courtesy of Home Depot). The sentiment is Papertrey Mum's the Word. I added some Paper Candy. I hope to see you there!

Make it Monday #159

No-Sew Quilted Cards is the theme at  Make it Monday this week. I have not played there in a while.... The talented  Dawn McVey has a cool video, showing us how to do that.   I first had to research quilting patterns to find something I liked...... Not really my usual style, but I really like the result of it!  I first cut myself some triangles from My Minds Eye patterned paper, glued it onto white card stock and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Papertrey Quatrefoil  die as embossing folder.  The sentiment is  - how cool is that - designed by Dawn as well -  from the Papertrey Signature series -Flower, the wood cut is from Michaels. The card really looks like a quilt! Amazing! Thanks, Dawn!
