Several CHNC challenges and some cards I got

Over at the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge the theme is upcycle, repurpose or use a freebie. I am a big recycler, so this is for me! I have this really pretty wrapping paper, that I could not trow out - so perfect to use for a card. Its a tad wrinkled, but what the heck its recycled!

I added the Mod tree from Simon Says - die cut from an old throw away card - you know those free cards they send you if you give money to a good cause - so another upcycle right here.... The star is also Simon Says, left over from a previous Christmas card. I colored some paper candi with Copicsfor the corners. The sentiment is Inkadinkadoo. I heat embossed it - was afraid it would not dry well, since the paper is the almost glossy type. Added sequins - somehow they end up on every other card I make nowadays....I am not toatlly happy wiht this card - somehow it does not quite come together, but that does not stop me from linking it up. Things don't always have to be perfect, right?

I am wondering if this card also classifies for the new CHNC challenge - Patterned Paper - that wrapping paper is certainly patterned and I am also linking it with the CHNC extra challenge - anything Christmas
and of course, with all the recycling going on here its going into the Snippets Playgrounas well!

And lastly I am linking this up with the ABC Christmas challenge - A for anything Christmas

I want to share some more cards I got from my blogging friends for Christmas:
This card is from Doerthe - her blog is called Flos' Habseligkeiten.

Isn't that amazing?? I put a really big smile on my face when I got it and I still smile every time I look at it! I always wanted to make one of those, but it just looks like sooo much work...

And this beautiful card I got from Rosi - her blog is called Let's take time. I am sure many of you are familiar with her blog.

I love this card - so beautiful. Such a cool idea to fold the ribbon into a tree!

Thank you both, Doerthe and Rosi - your cards are proudly displayed on my mantle in the living room!

Another thing we have in common: I also have a hard time to throw out beautiful (wrapping) paper, etc. Unfortunately I rarely use it right away but add it to the collection which grows and grows... So I think it's great that you made a pretty card out of it right away!

Wahoo Cornelia, what a fabulous modern card! Great bit of upcycling - like you I hang onto wrapping paper, and even sometimes buy it purely for backgrounds. Just yesterday I came across some patterned gold tissue paper (whilst packing away Christmas wrapping stuff) and purloined a couple of sheets for an idea I have.

Hugs, Di xx

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers

Combined So Suzy and The Ton Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I am sooooo excited to be part of this amazing event - a combined hop between So Suzy Stamps and The Ton! I have been eyeing The Ton stamps and dies for quite a while - they are just gorgeous! And So Suzy - well you have seen their stamps on my blog - they are simply fabulous! I also love that they are made from rubber - its different stamping with them. Its much better for generational stamping and they don't stick to your paper when you use your Misti. You may have arrived from the fabulous  Eunji - its a hard act to follow her.... I got those gorgeous  Peonies Dies  from The Ton and die cut them with water color paper. Spritzed Dylusion inks on a sheet of plastic and dipped the dies into the colors. Mounted them onto black card stock. Added the So Suzy Birthday sentiment - heat embossed in white. Lastly I added a strip of envelope liner paper at the bottom. Here are my supplies: So Suzy Birthday sentiment ,  Peo...

Hi Everyone, I have a very special card for you today - a birthday card for Suzanne, the owner and talented force behind So Suzy Stamps! And we are celebrating this wonderful occasion with a special blog hop! You may have arrived from the wonderful Giada , our Italian contingent :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Suzanne! I used the Blowing Butterflies  (heat embossed in gold)  and the Birthday Wishes  to create my card. I cut myself a gold frame from glitter paper and added a water color wash. I opened the frame on the side to have the butterflies and color spill out. Added lots of splatters and the heat embossed sentiment Your next stop on the hop is the talented Henriette - you are going to love her card! And just in case you get lost - below are all the participants listed. You even can get lucky and win a $20 gift certificate for So Suzy Stamps - sponsored by Justine and a  Bunkie Bag from Simply Charming Everyday, but you have to le...
