STAMPlorations 5th Birthday Celebration

Hi Everyone,

do you know that STAMPlorations is celebrating it's 5th birthday? Time really flies by when you are having fun. I am so honored to have been on this DT since almost the very beginning. Now for this celebration I had to choose my 3 favorite cards to share with you. A difficult task....I easily could have chosen 30, LOL!

My first favorite:

I made that in June 2015 (see details HERE) using the following two sets
Blooming Buds and VIGNETTE: Eclectic Florals. It was one of the few times I tried out the no line coloring technique.

My second favorite:
(see details HERE) is from August 2015.

I also used on of Deepti's sets: Lotus Love

And lastly favorite card #3
I choose a newer one (see details HERE)

I made this card with one of my favorite sets - Woodland Friends
preview-WoodlandFriends

In fact, I love this set so much, I decided to use it for my new projects. If coloring is not your thing, you can simply color block and use the stamps as they are. I just added some white accents.

It results in a modern, graphic look. I experimented with stamping on canvas. In this card I used cheap acrylic paint and stamped on the canvas. I did not remove the sticky back, as the canvas becomes see through and I didn't like that. I doodled the frame and added splatters.

For card #2 I used water brush pens, diluted with more water. Patience is not my strength and I stamped onto the canvas before it was completely dry. so the back ink bled a bit. But I actually liked this. Conveniently looks like shading.....

The only difference to the card above is that I heat embossed the sentiment and did not add splatters.

Of course, we want YOU to be part of the festivities!

Wow, I can see why you picked these as your
favorites ... all stunning! Since I don't color
much myself, I love the new ones and may try

Cornelia, I have been a fan of yours for a long time - you have such an original flair for all your work and I love the drama of your backgrounds! And that first card with the no-line coloring - ooh, la, la!!

It had to be an impossible task to pick just three of your remarkable creations...even thirty would be too little. You just continue to astound me each time you post something new. They're always gorgeous, clever and innovative. That's why you're an artist, I guess. Good to see you showcased at STAMPlorations.
For instance, stamping on that canvas for just the texture would be enough but the coloring, doodling and background work make these seem graphic and, oh so, fascinating.

I agree with your faves, Cornelia, but also agree that I wouldn't have been able to narrow my favorite cards of yours down to less than 30!! Hugs, Darnell

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
