Stained Glass Technique

Hi Everyone,

there is an interesting challenge at CAS Mix-up - its about the stained glass technique. It looks amazing, doesn't it. Although honestly I would change the name to pained glass technique. It's a pain in the you know where..... to put together.


So you have been warned! LOL! But I persevered, although I wasn't quite sure why....I guess I know why. I knew it would look great in the end and be worth the effort - to send to somebody special, who appreciates it. As they have lots of tutorials over at the CAS Mix-up blog I spare you the details. The only difference on my card is that I used fun foam to build up the layers. Makes it a tad faster....

The triangles are by Altenew.
The background I made with a stencil by MFT (My Favorite Things). The sentiment is by Winnie & Walter.

Well, it's absolutely gorgeous even if it might have been a pain in the neck (?) to put together, Cornelia ... the vibrant colours are fantastic against the stencilled neutrals! Sorry not to be around ... and not to have commented on all your recent cards (though I've enjoyed them!). We've not had internet for almost a week (eek!) so now we're back online I'm playing a long and happy game of catch up! Hugs, Anita :)

Oh boy, am I ever glad you persevered. This card has everything I love. Color, geometrics and stenciling. It has got to win...so worth the effort.

Those triangles were a great die to do the technique with, Cornelia. I found one secret was to save the last layer until after all the GA was added because it can get all over the die cut.

Well this is one very interesting design. Love the triangle background making the stained glass ones really pop out. This is one delightful card. ...it was worth the PAIN :D

Your gems are fantastic, Cornelia! Great idea to use foam instead of gluing lots of layers. I used sticky sheet myself. You certainly picked the right die to use and the perfect stencil! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I love your colorful, shiny, modern-looking card, Cornelia! The dark stenciling in the background makes the faux stained glass colors really pop. Using the fun foam to build up the layers is a clever idea. (I'll do that next time. :-)) Thanks so much for sharing this beauty at CAS Mix Up!

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Suzanne's Surprise Blog Hop

Some more Christmas Cards...

Hi Everyone, there still are some Christmas cards  I made awhile ago and have not yet posted.... This one I made for the  Runway Inspired Challenge . The inspiration photo is below. I found it a little tricky to make this into a Christmas card, but with the help  of Neat&Tangled stamps it worked....The stitched dies are by Simon Says. Added some Washi tape on top (the headdress) and silver glitter paper at the bottom (the floor and silver shoes) and voila a Christmas card! My second card I made with an iStencil, gold embossing paste, faux pearls, an enamel dot and lots of splatters. The stitched die I cut the Kraft panel with is by Simon Says. I love this stencil and stenciled cards are just so quick and easy to make.
