Twofer Challenge #12

Hi Everyone,

of course I could not let that Twofer challenge go by and I din't even wait until the last moment. The theme was too good - BIRDS - one of my favorite stamps to buy! I can never say no to bird stamps... Do you have certain types of stamps you simply have to have, despite already owning lots of them? Or am I the only one out there????

I used this super long bird stamp from Carabelle Studio - it is the cutest thing ever! I stamped it diagonally onto card #1 and colored it with Inktense.

The coloring took a while - I find it not so easy to choose so many colors and not have it look incoherent or cluttered. I think I succeeded....

The second card did not get a lot of coloring - I was colored out at this point, ha ha.... It received a bit of masking.

It was a bit fiddly to make it all work - a couple of tries to get the round die cut opening the correct size and how to squeeze in the sentiment under the bird beaks, etc. Livened it up with generous splatters and a little piece of Bakers twine.

I am so happy with the result. I always find the second card more difficult and often I am not totally happy with it, but here I am!

I can understand your obsession to bird stamps. :-) I think each of crafters has to have a lot of similar motifs, birds, or trees, or whatever. :-) You did a great job for the challenge. I like your colorful card and also the dark one with amazing details of big bird stamp. Well done! :-)

I'm glad this time you are happy with the second card, Cornelia, because you were really clever in making your long bird stamp work perfectly for the get well design! I can also see why you had to have that stamp; what a hoot! My fave is the bird balancing on two heads, mmm, no wait, the one standing on his head ... love them all and excellent coloring!! Thank you so much for Twofing with us again!! Hugs, Darnell

I like them both but the second one is my favorite. I am always sending get well cards and this is perfect! I too love bird stamps and have way too many. Also sheep, deer and trees are stamps that I have a hard time not buying. Sometimes my conscience wins and sometimes I have a new stamp to play with!
I always look forward to your Katzelkraft cards too and have begun buying them too.

I have to say that both cards are fabulous, and I think your second card is wonderful! I started chuckling when I saw it in the gallery, and when I popped over here, I can see it's a very fun get well card! Glad you liked it!! Your birthday card is colored perfectly. All those birds...looks like my family, lol!! Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

Oh, my gosh, those birds are hilarious! I love, LOVE your first card with the birds all lined up, the angles, the placement of the sentiments. Lots of coloring and so beautifully done. It's a CAS card that isn't so CAS in the making, but worth every minute of it. #2 is always the hardest for me, too, but just look how you pulled it off! Excellent masking, great design. The black really makes the coloring pop. Bird stamps are my weakness, especially the whimsical one that you can color any which way you choose. Thanks so much for playing along in our Twofer Challenge, Cornelia. This was a treat!
Wow! These are both wonderful and so fun too! I think you have done an outstanding job and I predict you a winner with these.

I know what you mean about choosing colors, Cornelia, but yours worked out wonderfully. Love the one lying down on the get well card.

Brilliant, brilliant, Cornelia ... that's one each! Those tilted rows of deliciously coloured, fun-and-full-of-personality birds are fantastic ... so much fun! Great masking and splattering for your second card ... that poor chap does look so unwell ... though he's sure to be cheered by those cute birds with their beaks peeking out over the sentiment panel! Always happy to have you playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

That is the cutest stamp...I don't remember seeing that one before...Great job using it for your cards!
Cornelia, what a funny bird stamp set!
Love both of your cards for the Twofer Challenge!

I know the "problem" of wanting too many sets... sometimes it's so hard there are so many brands with so many cute images and great sentiments out there! Sometimes I can't just take one... ;-)

Greetings from Wiebke (KomMa designed)

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
