Blogging Break

Hi Everyone,

despite on what the card says, no happy things are happening in my life. I finally had my cataract surgery and the outcome is so so, thanks to a damaged retina. I see better than before, but not clear and this can not be corrected with glasses. It is what it is. Just hoping my right eye does not give up on me....

And then my dear mother died unexpectedly - she just stopped breathing. My older sister was with her.  At least she did not have to suffer. I am flying to Germany for her funeral, so I am taking a blogging break. So sorry, I won't be able to comment. I know you'll understand.

I am playing in the current Pinsights challenge by Ellen Hudson.

Although I was tempted to go with the pink ombre inspiration I in the end choose the Pantonte color picture - not that I am such a fan of soft colors, but this is supposed to be a challenge, right?! And I actually managed to stay soft and I do like the outcome. Don't worry, I'll go back to my usual colorful ways, I am sure of that....

Did some smooshing, die cutting and stamping. Added Washi tape and sequins.

Here is the inspiration picture:

Oh Cornelia, what sad news about your Mother, yet it was quick and peaceful for her. And a worry about your eyesight too of course. I have a damaged cornea in my left eye and do find that the right eye compensates for it - it took time but it happened.

Safe travelling and hope you're soon back in Blogland - love your card!

Hugs

Hugs, prayers and love coming to you, my friend, as you face the unexpected loss of your mom! Oh, how my heart hurts for you. I'm glad your sister was by her side; I'm glad she didn't suffer. I'm going to light a candle, right now (I do every day for my day...have been since Dec. 30, 2014) for her, for you, for your family. Hope your eye continues to heal; having significantly compromised vision myself (VERY near-sighted), I empathize with you, although I know your situation is far more significant. Your card is truly lovely! Wishing you safe travels and may those 'tender moments' you're about to experience be shared with those you love...We are here for you. Take care of YOU first!
Hugs and love~c

So sorry to hear about your Mother, what terrible news to receive. You must be thankful that your sister was with her at the time. Such a bad time for you to be travelling too after just having your surgery, I hope it doesn't impair you too much when seeing your family and saying goodbye to your Mother at the funeral. Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car
